Dodge Viper GTS (Racing Modification from GT1 & 2)
Toyota GT-ONE Race Car '98
Nissan R390 GT1 Race Car '97

Vipers are a guilty pleasure :)

The lone vote I wish to cast is for the BMW E30 M3. That is truly a glaring omission from the Gran Turismo series. And one that needs to be fixed soon, Kaz! Please!

I got to add a vote for these 2 beauties:
Mercedes-Benz SL65 AMG Black Series '08
Mercedez Benz E63 AMG '10

and one more
CLK 63 AMG Black Series (Clarkson had one at some point)

I'd like to see the following:
Renault Dauphine '57
Chevrolet Corvair '61
Chevrolet Vega '71
Ferrari Mondial '80
Ford Pinto '72
Ford Edsel '58
Pontiac Fiero '84
Pontiac Aztek '01
Triumph TR7 '75

More than 650 posts, people still don't know how to count to ten. Oh I mean five. You people do know, it's FIVE max. OP clearly states this,

And we counters hate some of you guys with these vague descriptions. Take 2 minutes and look up the correct info, so it's easy for us. You know how time consuming this is, to go through hundreds of posts? Very. And another thing, I wish some people would learn to look on the database for their cars and post exactly what it's there (if it's on the board). Doesn't help if you put what engine it runs, or other garbage. Do I look like Wikipedia to you? No. Thanks, now we will have to look it up cause you're to lazy. If you're this lazy, why not just skipping posting your wants. Heck, if I tally any posts and see pure laziness, consider your post skipped in the future. I mean some of you guys.... What does it mean to say, "Some Koenisegg" or "That special edition Koenisegg" or "The fastest F1" and so forth... What the hells that all mean to me?.. We aren't mind readers ladies (and some gentlemen). And sorry, my rant is going to the few who just don't care.

Damn! Sorry, had to get it out, but after doing 100 or....More of these, it's unbearable to read some of them. It hurts! I don't want to learn the history of every weird useless car you want in GT5, so give me a break. What makes me laugh is when I see cars no one wants, not even the guy who posted them. I swear, some people search for a car you've never heard of before (nor they). But what ever, have it stall at 1 vote, not my pick. I choose to not throw my picks. Hehe^_^

Actually, I'll show you an example of weirdness:

"Here is my list for now:

1. Ferrari 250 GTO, GTE, Lusso, and Testa Rossa (Most famous car series in history jesus christ! I could pick about 10 of them)

2. Ferrari 275 GTB/4

3. Ferrari Dino 246

"

Note to self, don't tally this section! Okay. Numbered 1-3, but he has four cars in the first one. 4 + 2 is 6, right?.. What am I supposed to do with this? Hmmm....

/end maddness

Mate we all appreciate the work you guys are doing, this is a great thread and idea, I just keep coming back to it. (mostly to see if my cars got anymore votes hehe):dopey:

But if it were me counting them, and people cant be bothered reading the rules than go for their first five and bad luck to them!:sly:

Thank you mate :) Let's hope it's worth and we see the results in some DLC...

It will be worth when the mods finally deside to make this thread and the most wanted tracks thread stickies, I saw other fails of the mods here recently and it's really bugging me.

Can't understand why did not put in some more "special" Ferrari's like the 599 GTO of the FXX. Still, these five I would go for:

Ferrari 599 GTO '10
Audi RS5 '10
Ferrari F355 Berlinetta '94
Koenigsegg CCXR '07
Ferrari 360 Challenge Stradale '03

I understand the need for this type of list, but it seems pretty stressful and demanding.

I noticed that you can have up to 100 options in the polls for the forum. Not sure on how many votes it will allow.

Would it not be better to categorize this wish list with the help of the automated tools of the forum?

Mark it "official", get it sticky'd and allow up to 5 votes.

EDIT:To make it easier for counting my five votes are the first 5 highlighted on the list.

I struggle to narrow it down to 5, I want all these and more.

  • E49 Valiant Charger '72 (AU) This car is currently on the list as "Chrysler VH Valiant Charger R/T E39 '72" There is no such thing as an E39 Charger, it is an E49 as I wrote it.
  • Dodge Daytona 426 Hemi 4 speed '69
  • Dodge 330 Lightweight Super Stock '64
  • Ariel Atom V8 '10 Better known as the Ariel Atom 500
  • Holden Torana A9X '77 (AU)
  • Chrysler C300 '55 (how can the car that is pretty much responsible for the factory horsepower wars and the forerunner of Muscle Cars not be included in a history of driving game?)
  • Plymouth Superbird '70
  • The '62-'65 Dodge and Plymouth factory lightweights, Max Wedge and hemi cars, starting with the '64 Dodge. '62 Dodge RamCharger 413, '64 & '65 Plymouth Super Stock
  • E55 Valiant Charger '73 (Aussie model)
  • Ford Falcon GTHO Phase III '71 (AU)
  • Ford Falcon Hardtop XA, XB & XC (AU)
  • Holden Torana LJ XU1 (HDT Bathurst version) '72 (AU)
  • V8 Supercars, Ford & Holden (AU)

It is next to impossible for me but if I am forced to reduce my list to 5 it would be

Dodge Daytona 426 Hemi 4 speed '69

'64 Dodge 330 Lightweight Super Stock

and the 5 limit is killing me because I have to cut these that I really want in the game as well

Needless to say that I want more of the most desirable muscle cars in general. My understanding is that the GT series is supposed to be a driving simulator that allowed you to drive Dream cars on a race track. I don't dream about driving imports, my dream cars are classic muscle cars, street machines, pro street and pro touring cars.

I would also love to see more classic cars in general especially the common Japanese 4 cylinder and Rotary models but without the ability to do engine swaps it is pointless to include the 4 bangers.

This is not a wishlist, it is a list of prioritised cars so that PD actually know in future which cars the majority of the user base wants.

Posts like the one above are not helping.

Is that because I didn't mention cars that you want?

I can certainly say I do not want every car ever made and I can also say that the game already includes an incredible number of cars I have no interest in. What it lacks is cars I am interested in that a number of other games include.

That list of cars I posted are almost all historically significant cars that have extensive racing pedigree, that is a lot more than can be said of many of the cars included in the game. The game touts itself as being a historic journey but it leaves out many of the very significant cars in history, why? Because it is made in Japan. So yes it is hard to narrow a list down to 5 when so many significant cars have been left out while so many rubbish cars have been included. What makes it worse is so many of the included cars are so similar so there is a lot less variety than the numbers suggest and definitely not an excellent representation of historic performance cars.

Finally there is the Atom, I can understand why the 500 didn't make the game but no Atom? That's insane. Now that the 500 has been released and it is one of the quickest road legal cars ever built and considering no ordinary person will ever get to own one it makes sense to include.

So call it a wish list if you want and of course to me it is but a lot of thought went into that list to narrow it down to where I did, it is a usable list since it has 5 cars as a priority but the other cars that may have been overlooked by others got a mention too since if this game wants to be taken seriously as a historic journey it needs more historically significant cars. There is an obvious good reason other sims include them.

Some more things worth pointing out. In total there are only 19 premium cars that can be classified as classics although it isn't fair to classify all 19 of those as classics and out of those there are a few that others have questioned their inclusion. Out of the cars I mentioned 4 have already been voted for, 1 is already in the game as a standard car and a few are either the race version of cars that have been voted for or a better or newer and better model of a car that has already been voted for and one is very significant for arguments sake if you are Australian and know both your muscle car and racing history as it is surrounded by myth and controversy and some believe that if it wasn't for the supercar scare that it would have been the car that won Bathurst for Chrysler, it is humorously known by some here as the "racing couch".

*snip*

Oh by no means am I questioning your choice of cars.

I'm just saying that your post could have stopped at the point where your 5th chosen car was listed.

At least you listed the Manufacturer, model and year though, which is more than can be said of around 40% of the posts in this thread.

So got gt5 and i think one car is missing, i hope they hide it somwhere in the used cars somewhere, if not their bodyguards wont be enough to keep em safe.

1. The truly missin mercedes 190e evo2 1990 (this is a must beginner car to have a decent one)
2. Audi coupe quattro 1980 - 1982
3. Ford escort rs cosworth 1994
4. chevrolet camaro 1970- 1972
5. Vw passat zynchro G60 (wagon/ combie) 1990

There are several classic cars I would like to see:

Shelby Daytona Cobra Coupe '64
Ford Mustang Boss 302 '70
Ford Mustang Mach 1 '69

I have a 1967 Mustang that I restored with my dad and they hold a special place in my life, so I would like to see them get a little more love in GT.

I think that it would be nice when this is over to have a voting for the manufacturers too. Similar to the voting for tracks, because the car with more votes has 17, and theres a lot of cars with 1 or 2 votes.

It maybe "vote for the manufacturer you want to see more cars from", and we vote for Koenigsegg, Holden, Masseratti, etc.

What do you think?

So here my wish list

1st - Ferrari F50 '95
2nd - Koenigsegg CCX '06
3rd - Koenigsegg CCXR '08
4th - Ferrari F50 GT
5th - Gumpert Apolo '08

I have to apologise to the devs, they didnt forget me and put my beloved mercedes in. Just hope to get one fast enough before it is sold out lol
So again sorry to the devs i was to fast on my rage.
Then i need a new car in my list, crossin mercedes evo2 for why not an opel manta b series

I think the poll option for individual cars suggested earlier makes more sense. If this board does have the capability to have a poll with 100 options and can permit members to vote for a maximum of 5 of those options setting a poll makes a lot of sense since chances are some members who voted early possibly forgot a particular model that they would prefer to be in their list. If the poll also allowed members to change their vote it would the accurately represent this communities most wanted cars.

If more than 100 cars have been nominated for inclusion 2 options exist. Cars must receive x amount of nominations to be included in the poll or the lowest performers in the poll could be dropped and new nominations added.

I've created and moderated similar threads to these in the past on another board and these are always very labour intensive. For a thread like this to succeed generally requires someone who has moderation privileges and committed to follow it through daily. That's a lot to ask of a Mod unless he is passionate about it.

IMO the best way for this to succeed would be to start over. Allow people to nominate more models for submission to the poll and edit the poll daily to include the 100 most nominated cars. For the purpose of sanity I'd also have a closing date so that the Mod handling the poll edits only had to dedicate a set amount of time. The other thing that really helps counting is to have separate threads for discussion of the poll and nominations only in the poll thread with infractions and bans given to those who post discussion in the poll thread. But that's just my opinion based on my experience of creating many of these threads for competitions and community opinion and knowing how frustrating a thread like this can be.

Very tough to narrow it down to five. Here goes:

Ariel Atom V8 '10
Ferrari 512TR '94
Aston Martin V12 Vantage '10
SSC Ultimate Areo '06

and pleae bring back the. . .

Vector W8 '90

Thanks a lot for putting this thread together!
