all the evos and supras have the same horsepowers (276bhp) i think but

the supra should have about 330bhp in GT4 and
the skyline GT-R has about 400bhp in real life am i right ?

and what about the evo 6 7 and 8 don´t they have different horsepowers :indiff:

Real life Power of the Skyline R34 is 302 HP

no no try it yourself on test course

I can see your point there, also I remembered in Mission 23, those stock R34 go up to 163 mph (how can you forgot mission23 :yuck: ). but in RL, my friend's stock M3 (2004) can only go up to about 150-155mph (after that fuel cut kicks in), however in the game I think stock M3 also has much higher top speed, isn't it?

Yeah, the F1 car completely dominates any other car in the game except in top speed.

Yes, open wheels kill the Cx.

The game's a lot more fun if you learn the basics of it :)

Just like in real life, learn the basics and you'll enjoy every time you drive. You'll feel the slightest drift, you'll plan your corners ahead and transfer the weight so that you won't be in trouble, etc...

Anyone knows Topanga and old Topanga canyon roads (north of Santa Monica starting at PCH) ? I love them both, old Topanga has some nasty corners.

It takes considerable restraint on the gas pedal to drive these cars when they're not 'on the wing' at low speeds.
I totaly agree with that. I would rather say that it takes considerable control on the gas pedal. I feel that control fits better to say what's needed to drive close to the limits that physics set. It reminds me of a Pirelli commercial that was saying : "Power is nothing without control".

Skant
And it doesn't help that you can't feel the G forces you're actually pulling while you play the game. That'd help you to understand how fast you're really going.
That's what I miss the most, I can't tell how close I am to the maximum grip, I can't tell if my braking is going to make it or not, I can't tell when I have to get the steering straight because the car is about to stop drifting, etc, etc ... If only I could get the forces I would feel on my body in a real car I would be so much more comfortable.

I also miss the real sound that is coming from the tires, it changes as you get deeper in your grip budget and helps a lot knowing how close you are to the maximum.

Last thing that makes me feel lost on many occasion when playing GT is the lack of stereoscopic vision, there is no visual feel for distances. This combined with the forces you feel when braking is a lot of information I need to get good brakings.

For most people. GT has a much more accurate model of the real world than their own notions, in spite of its imperfections.
I also agree with that, everything I do with a real car, the ones in GT do as well. All I learned in several rally driving schools works as well as in real life. I also had a lot of misconceptions about how to drive a car and how it "works" before learning those things from the professionals.

Real life Evo's in the UK come in a range of standard power outputs, from 260bhp to 406bhp.

The UK spec Evo VIII MR FQ range covers 260, 320, 340 and 400 bhp, its a real shame that we did not get some of these UK spec cars in GT4.

Some detailed info on how the 340 and 400 compare can be found here.

:scared: ok, so as always i get to a forum waaaay to late to actually post anything groundbreaking an worthwhile... I'm looking at you skant... he's right on the money, remember ppl your talking about a game physics engine... there is actually physics involved lol 💡 ...

if you want to talk unrealistic tho' i only got one question... where's my clutch?

my advice, if you don't have the steering wheel/pedal set for gt4... go get it. go get it now. 5mm feathering of the accelerator round a corner vs. .5 mm tapping of a button, this is where your handling issues lie... It is also good to have a steering wheel that pulls, it might not be full body g-forces but after a while you get to know the feeling and can judge from your hands alone

If your running a monster of a car (900hp+) there's a real simple trick i learnt way back on gt1 when playing with hand controller... start in second gear... low revs = high traction

that said i am actually one of those people that sits around all day with nothing to do but play games... a very nasty soft tissue injury has put me off work for about 12 months, but i'm 25 an been building an rebuilding engines with my father since i was 5 ( :dopey: ) so just as a side note to everyone... be a little open minded about the people out there in cyberspace, we're not all here for the free porn :scared:

Most unrealistic performance in the game v real life...

SRT-4. No question in my mind about how jacked up the game is about this car. The game's stock trans and suspension are way off from the real life counterpart. 0-400m in the game is way off. a 500whp car going 12s? I think stock was 15s... try again PD. My old SRT-4 bone stock ran down 13.9x @ 102mph on KDWIIs, and modified stock turbo ( still sub 300whp ) ran 12.96@106 on 215 Continental ExtremeContacts... 500whp SRT-4s on slicks run low 11s / high 10s, with a few 700whp ones sneaking into the 9s... OH PD why have you hurt me so... my favorite real life car sucks in your game.

// end rant

The SRT-4 top speed is limited to 149MPH, since GT4 don't have speed limiters, they messed up the ratios so the top speed would be 149MPH at the redline limiter.

I don't know who told you that but there is no electronic speed limiter on an SRT-4. I can vouch from experience. :mischievous:

Dodge claims a top speed of 156mph due to drag. But then again Dodge also intentionally heatsoaked the FMIC and changed wastegate solenoid duty cycle for when they dynoed the '03s So they're " official " comments mean nothing to me. SRT has no official comment on top speed.

When they said limited, I thought it was computer limited. But I guess GT4 took edmunds call for top speed. It used to say 149MPH Limited. A SRT-4 with gearbox in GT4 can do past 149MPH. So I guess they didn't do good with the drag coefficient. :ouch:

I'm not trying to rub it in or anything, but if you want proof of 150mph+ SRT-4s in stock trim theres a ton of morons over on SRTForums who do it all the time.

I know already. I searched on Wiki and it said 156MPH drag limited Top Speed. ;)

I don't trust wiki when it comes to cars... too many times have i read an article recently edited on there claiming stock EG civics will outrun corvettes etc etc. too many people mess with it.

... I heard in Japan they have to pay extra tax on powerful cars. I think Mitusubishi and Toyota either say their cars produce that much or they accually cap it when testing and uncap when selling (if you understand that  ) ...

GT4 was designed around a steering wheel, not a DS2. So that's why cars may seem unrealistic at first.

I'm wondering did you see the part where i resurrected this thread from two years ago?

the volvo is the car i hate the most its just soo horrible and how goes out and buys that car now anyway at least some of the other old cars have a meaning or use, i mean they could have put the 4x4 volvo to use as a rally car

Any and all muscle cars are so far off the mark in all areas itś not even funny. DP should be sued for what they did with these cars. 👍
