Thank you for the tune Hami. Drives very nice with your setup.

Boss 302
I took this American muscle for a ride earlier. You nailed it. I had to check to see if i was using Racing Softs by mistake, nope i was on Sport Softs. Turn in was predictable and easy to control. No understeer or loss of the rear end. just right.

Getting to the apex of the turn was easily achieved. If i cooked it to hot into the turn, a simple lift off of the throttle brought the front end into line. Throttle steer was a joy. No loud screeching of tires during the turn.

The exit of the turn was full throttle with a hint of the rear getting loose. Under control at all times.
Most of you will understand how rare it is to jump into a car for the first time and complete lap after lap with your times getting quicker without adjustment.
Absolute keeper!! Now the only question is regarding the rest of your tunes will they be as much fun to drive as this one or could they be better?

I gave the boss a shot on sports hards. It's fine in most low speed turns and good in corners that require some quick movement and rhythm like the first section of the ring. It seems like the big problem is lots of mid corner understeer on longer corners regardless of the speed they're taken at. I like the way it turns in and going out you can accelerate nicely but I just found that it always wanted to push outside which made trail braking or getting on throttle through a corner a bit difficult.

@SGETI thanks for the feedback. I felt like it was pretty good, but there is still more to find.

@RAZRr1275 also thanks for the feedback. Had similar feedback in another thread. Mid-corner grip is the weak point. Next time I pull the BOSS out of the garage, I will pay close attention to mid-corner and see if improvements can be made.

Really appreciate the test drives. Thanks again.

Hello MCH, thank you very much for the tunes - fantastic work! The Acura beat a Calloway, Z06 and an Aston in some race I tried it in, great drive. The Takata is a joy, like a tiger on a leash. I appreciate the fact that you have left some life in the tail. I also appreciate the more traditional approach taken with the 'Boss'. Sure, maybe a little bit of understeer through the middle in spoon etc - but really, that is the nature of the beast. I am looking forward to giving the Mazdas and the Subaru a run this afternoon. Great tunes!!! :)👍

I took the Miata around in the one make race and found similar things to the Boss. Do you tend to throw cars in the corner when you drive? I found that if I did an early entry in a really aggressive fashion it would stick mid corner to a better degree than it did before

Hi Hami! This one is indeed in the "Well Done" category. That's what I call driving a car on the "Ring".
It'll just be great if the final drive and top speed could be improved, but probably can't.
I love it! It's a MEDALIST to me! 👍

P.S.: Oh, and don't forget to list the tunes. :sly:

Hi Hami :) Looking forward to trying your Subaru tune tonight. I never really got into GT properly in the past, but I bought a G27 at the tail end of GT5, and a Playseat shortly after. Now slowly weaning myself into turning off all the assists :embarrassed:, and then I want to try and get into tuning cars for myself. I dont know if you take requests for a tune, but I would really love one for the Honda NSX GT500 Stealth. Looking forward to your tuning guide, a lot. Keep up the good work!

Thanks for sharing. To me, "backward settings" is a convenient way to describe things that you just can't get a handle on when tuning. Some cars just need strange settings to make work. Does that mean the whole system is backward? It's kind of like UFO spotting near our military bases. They have to test future airplanes in the air eventually. Why not at night when fewer people are awake and visibility from the ground is poor.

I was really reluctant to believe any of the backward stuff in GT5 until I saw actual testing (not feel) and did my own testing. If settings were programmed backward, then they have to be backward on nearly every car, not a few, not only on FFs, etc. In GT5 I think the community confirmed, through hours of testing across multiple tuners, that spring rates in GT5 worked opposite from the real world. Reverse springs worked really well on FF, 4wd and FR, but wasn't necessary on most RR and MR.

As for GT6, I haven't found any magic "backward settings" yet and I haven't seen the testing to back up the claim. There are still hours and hours of testing in front of the tuning community so we will see. I would just caution that believing in backward settings, this early in the game, may be a bit lazy and misguided. Kind of like seeing a light in the sky and instantly believing that Martians live among us.

Just gave The Boss a run in the fighting muscle series. An absolute dream to drive. Good turn in, easy to get the power down. Found you can be super aggressive under braking as it stops so well. Can't say I noticed too much understeer whilst using it around the 3 tracks of Brands Hatch, Spa and Eiger. Gets a thumbs up from a DS3 user. A keeper for sure.

Hi, great tunes :)
Just out of curiosity, on the STI tune, would it hurt to upgrade racing brakes, triple clutch and carbon drive shaft? I'm new to GT tuning, and I noticed that these upgrades dont cost PP, but do say that they make a performance improvement to some extent.. I have noticed several good tuners do not advise these upgrades on the tune sheet and I am just curious as to why? Thanks for your help in understanding these upgrades, and many thanks for the tunes you provide  I am just trying to figure this whole pp thing out and learn to tune, so I thought I would ask the best guy on here.
AJ

Edit: Or anyone else that has any insight on this. I am pretty clueless coming from Forza's PI system.

Racing brakes are the only tuning part I avoided. The stock brakes were already locking up on these lighter weight cars. I even lowered brake balance numbers to make it easier to modulate the brakes, deeper into the brake pedal (or stick).

As for the other parts, it was just because money was tight in the beginning of GT6 so I really could not afford to add all of the parts. Plus, it has been really easy to beat the AI in the first three sets of A-Spec events. I have been running 50 to 100 PP lower and two compounds harder tires than the AI just to make these races more interesting. I would normally recommend adding all of the non-PP costing parts. The do make small differences in performance.

As for some of the other non-PP adding parts...I was tuning a Nissan Fairlady Z Version S (Z33) '07 ( in the USA a 350Z). Adding one part at a time, and running a race, noting total time. I wanted to see which parts gave improvement. Testing and making money at the same time. One part unexpected stood out at cutting lap times. The carbon lightweight driveshaft. The description box says it will improve performance more than chassis weight reduction. Just adding this cut almost 2 seconds off Twin Ring Motegi road course. Very good bang for the buck. I didn't notice this improvement in GT5.
By the way, racing brakes made very little difference in lap times. Racing brakes gave better feel, they felt like they were stopping shorter, but didn't affect lap times. Maybe it's because of my driving style.

Great tune, used many of your tunes in GT5.
Great corner entrance (even when a little hot) little tight in middle of corner but great exit.
Keep up the good work. Thanks!!

Thanks for sharing, Hami! The car is very stable but had some understeer for my setup and driving style. I made some slight adjustments to your tune and now loving it. If anyone is experiencing understeer, here are my adjustments. The beauty of Gran Turismo... to each his/her own.

(DS3, no aids, ABS 1, controller sensitivity 2)
Anti-Roll Bar 3/4
Camber 2.8/1.5
Brake balance 4/4
LSD 8/11/15

I added Flat Floor (adds 20 PP) and noticed improvement in response and lap time.

How do you set this transmission up? Because I am not getting those ratios.

Don't request many tunes, but this is one I'd really like JaguarS-type '02 500pp SS tyres. Thanks in advance . Merry Christmas Mr.Hamilton. :dunce:

Honestly I don't remember. By the looks of it I just took the stock full cusomizable gearbox and moved each gear to end in a 5 or zero. Since I did not note the flip trick, I'm sure that I just moved some of the gears around a little.

Ok thank you for the help. And do you plan on doing the other Miatas that have the hidden stripe?

Ok thank you for the help. And do you plan on doing the other Miatas that have the hidden stripe?

I have tested seven different Miatas in GT6 so far. I like the subtle personality differences that PD has programmed in.

I have said this before in these forums. I love the new physics and every car I have driven is more fun than its GT5 version, but there are some funny things going on with tune settings. LSD, ballast, brake balance and transmission all seem to work as they did in GT5. The suspension settings are just disappointing. You have to work really, really hard to find just minimal gains.

Because of this, I may not be posting many tunes for the next few weeks. My ego is not big enough to require that I have "the most tunes in GT6." I need to spend some time testing, take some notes and share the findings before I feel comfortable pumping out tunes. If anyone is interested in doing some testing on the cars that I am currently fiddling with, I am open to sharing some findings/efforts.

5 really good tunes, are worth more than 25 BS tunes man. You have to try some of the setups that are posted on here bro. You will laugh your butt off. It seems, just because the poster beat the AI and was able to complete a couple laps, they call it a tune. You can tell from looking at the numbers that the setting were a guess. Lower this all the way, turn this up all the way, oh yeah it's not spinning out, and post it. Pure comedy man.

(Pokes head around corner.) Did someone call for a tester? (Tail thumping against doorman eagerly.)

Hey Hami, as you know, I like to get your opinion and thoughts on things so I was wondering what you thought about this. https://www.gtplanet.net/forum/threads/camber-theory.294762/

Do you think that camber in GT6 here is flawed or does it work as it should? I haven't really tuned any cars myself yet, so that's why I'm asking so when I do tune, I know what to look out for if it is flawed. Thanks Hami and keep up the good work on the garage.
