I understand how fun it would be to race bikes vs cars.
But some things shouldn't be mixed together. Gran Turismo isn't a cars vs bikes arcade style. The same way I have no doubt a Mario FPS with zombies à la Dead or Alive would be a great deal of fun, it just feels at the wrong place. Some crossovers were made to be (Capcom x Tekken), some should stay as a dream. Just my opinion tho'.

Why are people so obsessed with getting bikes in GT5? Just go buy a bike game instead!

Yes. It's the real driving simulator. Last I checked you DRIVE bikes!!

Honestly, I don't like motorcycles in real life. I couldn't tell you the actual model name of a single one. I mean I know about Harley Davidson, and I actually do know of the Vrod since my Uncle owns one, but other than that I know nothing about bikes.

This doesn't mean I wouldn't want them in GT5. I think it would be fun. And honestly people need to be realistic. They'd be treated like how karts were, meaning, they'd be restricted in normal rooms. You would have bike specific rooms like the Ferrari F1s. Do people not realize that? I'm 100 percent positive they wouldn't be allowed in a normal racing room.

In conclusion, I'd enjoy having bikes. I think it'd be pretty fun.

Just because the game has a good car physics engine, doesn't mean motorcycles would automatically be just as good. The way a bike operates is much different, and would probably take a lot of programming to get right.

I just don't really see it being feasible in GT5.

What JaySin85 said. Unless you want a bike that drives like a car, PD would need to do a major physics update.

I think PD should focus on other things before they include bikes. Just saying I'd rather have them dial some other things in first.

Hey Im new to any kind of forum and have never liked the format of them, and Im sure this topic has been brought up. But I cant stop thinking about how great it would be to have a bike package for DLC for this game. Imagine a Veyron vs a Gsxr1000 on route 7 or a gt500 car vs a R6 on trial mountian.. etc. I know some of you think they should be separate and just be in Tourist Trophy 2.. but what could it hurt if they put out a DLC? If you dont want them then dont buy it. I seriously cant stop thinking how awesome it would be to be able to do these races and I honestly would pay good money to be able to do it. KAZ ITS A WIN/WIN SITUATION. You would only make money by doing it. SO DO IT!

Yes! Add motorcycles AND tanks. I want an M1A1 and maybe helicopters too.

lol crap isn't a bad word ^^^

Nothing but 👍

It won't take time away from the updates and GT6. There's already a lot of content available for PD to release, meaning they don't have to spend more time working on the regular DLC if they do decide to give us a DLC bike pack. If PD didn't have a good amount of extra content ready for release, I'd say wait some months before releasing a DLC bike pack.

There already is a tank in GT5:

Spot on. Bikes don't drive like cars do. There's no way to simulate it properly.

I wouldn't mind it, but I'm starting to get low on HDD space and a large patch might put me over. TT2 would be better.

Bikes, hmm how to answer this point. I know no no no no no no. If you want to dress like a power ranger on a scooter go right ahead, but bikes are not I repeat not wanted in this game

I like the idea of bikes being implemented in Gran Turismo, it would be fun to race cars against bikes. It would appear that Polphony Digital were considering implementing bikes in Gran Turismo at one point, judging from this promotional image from 2006...

Realistically speaking, it won't be happening with GT5. Bikes would require a seperate physics engine, since they handle differently to cars. Something as complex as a bike physics engine is unlikely to be implemented as DLC. They could however, be implemented in Gran Turismo 6, if Polyphony has the time/desire to do so. Although, it's more likely that they're focusing purely on cars for GT6, but they could implement them in Gran Turismo 7, presuming they still want to when GT7 begins development.

If only we could have had bikes instead of NeckCar (Nascar).

And I'm not even a bike fan.

Edit: Just saw the part about GT7... sigh.

Well they added trucks and suv's to the GT series so why not bikes!

Well in a car/truck/suv/kart if you turn the wheel left the car turns left. Turn more and the car turns more. On a bike turn the handlebars left and the bike goes right. Turn more and the bike falls over. That's just for starters. The physics are completely different. Rider weight transfer is a whole other nest of problems. Too hard to simulate in a game IMO.

Never! Because it will be weird. If they want to do bikes, they should put all cars in the world before putting single bike in it.

By you. Your opinion isn't the only one that matters. A lot of people want bikes. TT2 isn't happening any time soon so the next best option is DLC.

They (PD) already did it with Tourist Trophy which I believe was based off the GT4 game engine, so it could be possible without too many issues.

I want bikes in the GT series more than anyone, but........ Bikes and cars can live within the same game title but must be separate on track. They cannot co-mingle! That would make the series a gimmick arcade type game similar to others mentioned above. There are no race series in the world where bikes and cars race each other (ok well like Dakar rally stuff but that's a different can of worms). Not to mention that not too many motorcycle manufacturers would be on board with licensing their bikes to be in collisions with cars.

I think if GT had cars and bikes in the same sim it would attract a lot of consumers that might not normally buy their game.

Last rambling is about using a controller to control bikes. A controller is a good option, Steering a bike is more about leaning the bike than actually turning the bars. So to me it feels very natural using a controller. I don't see any logical reason to use a steering wheel to control a bike. I use a g27 for playing gt5 but I use my controller at the same time to navigate the menu because it is less clunky. PD didn't even make the g27 compatible until recently, so I kind of doubt they would design motorcycle game physics around people that might play with a wheel.

I can't believe no one has mentioned Project Gotham 3, that had cars and bikes and they raced against one another, maybe because it was xbox only.
