My question is, how am I going to maneuver a motorcycle with a G27?

That's what I was asking a couple of posts earlier in the thread. While motorcycles for DLC would be very good for DS3 users, it would be thoughtless and very awkward for the people who use a wheel. For that reason alone, it's worth reconsidering.

This is what also worries me about for GT6. I'll really love to have bikes in the GT series. But it's best to save them for another time if PD has to make a whole new physics engine and wait for 5 years again. :nervous:

Why not save them for "Gran Turismo Generations" :)

The only way they could develop both areas at the same time is to hire a lot more people at the Polyphony Digital offices then they currently have right now. And even so they would have to cut the budget on the developing of the game / DLC itself because they need to pay the employees' wages.

You're not locked into using your g27 for everything. Like I said earlier I use my g27 for driving and my controller for menus and anything else.

You could probably use a wheel, I'm sure it isn't the first time anyone did it in a bike game. You would just look like a tard doing it. I know a lot of people used to use flight sticks for bike games, but didn't have a natural feel for me.

Who knows how many people work at PD and how many people are designated to certain things? Isn't japan super overpopulated and have cheap wages anyway? Just saying.

It never has been done before, at least in my knowledge of racing games.

The physics between cars and bikes are too different. You'd need to incorporate an entirely new physics engine into the game for the bikes to feel right... and that's a bit much to ask for in DLC.

My post about the wheel was a joke guys, lighten up a bit. Obviously I know to use the controller :)

However, I would like to stay as close to simulation as possible. So if motorcycles are added, my only choice will be to get one of these:

You could have it for DLC but I think GT5 has already had too many updates. To do all the updates from release up until now is about 2 hours on a decent connection. And to those who aren't fortunate to get a decent performance from their ISP's, it could take even longer.

@ Above Post: Yes. To keep the experience real as possible, I would have to get that to replace my current cockpit for a car too.

It is just another controller input. Still uses x, y, z

True, but it would only work with games that actually support the wheel. If you have a FFB wheel try playing something that's not a racing game let alone a racing game without steering wheel support with it and tell me if it works or not.

This'll do and seems a lot cheaper.

Someone said it before and I'll state it again, it's dumb when people use the marketing slogan. I mean it's to sell the game, but last I checked the Redbull X2011 isn't a REAL car. Therefore is it really the "REAL" driving simulator or just the "Most of the time REAL driving simulator?" think bout that ;)

PD obviously can't keep up with the current line-up of production cars. Now, take into account older production cars, rally cars, LMP cars, F1, GT1 cars, etc.

There's no way it's the right time for bikes. Maybe SOMEDAY. But now? No.

On that basis then PD might as well add some F-16's into the game.

Has motorcycles ever been in the GT series? No. Will it make the game any better? Possibly. Does PD have the mindset and extra time for this? Probably not.

Word up. 👍

I'm going to have to agree with this, because this seem very true to be honest.

According to that logic there will never be time, once GT6 is released they need to work on GT7 next and keep supporting GT6 as well, etc.
The original TT was a relatively small sideproject by a few employees and since they're hiring new staff right now and have recently partly moved to a new location, who knows what they'll be able to do in the near future?

A new TT game is basically a GT-spin off so they don't need to spend time modelling new tracks or create a completely new physics engine, they only need to create bikes mostly and ofcourse that will take away some time and resources from GT-games but guess what?
Some people here look as much forward to a new TT-title as the next GT-title and it'll create revenue which will be used for GT-titles as well.

So it is time for a new TT-game or bike DLC if you both like cars and bikes.
I can put it another way, we now have the 5th full GT-title and the second title (including Prologue) on the current gen console whilst we only had one TT game so far on the previous gen console.
It's not a hypothetical discussion whether PD should create a bike game as well which it would be if they didn't so far, they already created one and a sequel is what people who loved that game logically expect.
So the argument that they should only concentrate on cars has already been made invalid by PD themselves.

True and honest? The only thing that is true and honest is that none of us know what Kaz and PD are up to, ever? Kaz is a quirky eccentric guy. Don't get me wrong he is the man! But he will work on whatever he wants to and is passionate about, and will give it to us whenever he sees fit.

To be precise: new Tourist Trophy game for PS3 or bike dlc for GT5 now please.
:)

This topic is being discussed somewhere else already I think .. but anyway..

Now this seems true and honest to me! It is kind of refreshing too to see someone give their point of view without sounding like a little kid saying me me me, this is what I want. Some of these people act like they are the voice for everyone that enjoys the GT series. Kaz doesnt listen to every suggestion, every request, or every criticism. It seems to me that he does what he is passionate about and believes in.

This speaks 1000 words. I agree that there shouldn't be bikes in the GT series too.

Really? This is a forum devoted to GT5 and car nuts, post this on a motorcycle forum and I expect the results would be different. Kind of like talking about Forza on a GT forum or vise versa. Whatever. I am going to giggle like a little school girl when bikes do come to GT!

But that's the whole point? GT5 is based around cars, not bikes.

I extensively played Tourist Trophy last week for one ongoing project and I have to say how game excels even today.

I hooked up my fat PS2 via SCART on HD plasma, got 576i resolution (PAL here), but game still looks fantastic.

Track graphics are much smoother and crispier than GT4, sound is superb and physics is still ultimate. Manual handling of front/rear brakes, driver leaning and driver animations still performs / feels / looks stunning.

Game design, career structure, small details - creation of driver, gear items, stance choice, handling the garage, OSD, AI routines, you name it - everything is top notch. Choice of tracks is fantastic, no need to highlight that one.

Beautiful game, I'd pay full-price for the HD remake, not even to speak about whatever money it takes to get new one.
Oh yes. This multiplied infinite times. Tourist Trophy remains one of my favorite titles of all time for these very reasons. I've also recently started playing it - again. Nice little coincidence.

Tourist Trophy 2, no bike DLC. Thanks in advance, PD.
