Some nasty stuff for you guys, note that these pictures were taken off TV screen.

The way the lighting is reflecting in the ruts is so freaking cool. It makes that mud look wet and sloppy. Notice how in the non rutted area that the reflection is dull. Their terrain deformation is the best innovation in off-road games in recent history.

I wonder why CAMARO never posts here anymore...maybe because he feels foolish?

It just puzzles me how GOOD this game looks (and plays), and how someone could be so naive to say it's bad...

Jeremy, just drop the subject please. I think it's safe to say that we all know it was dumb of him to say it, and trying to rub it in more is starting to get tasteless.
Thats ok...let it dry before you wipe it off. Then you will be able to get it off in bigger chunks.:sly:

:odd:

*steps backs slowly*

...

The mud effects look really good btw.

This is true, it's very tasteless, but the fact that he is still being just as tasteless and refuses to acknowledge this game is a visual masterpiece (while calling PDZ a good looking game, as well as fun) just amuses me, so I have fun with it.

Anyway, I'm going to PM a mod to change the title.

The pictures in post number 301 proves my exact point about this game. Those are render shots from the game. That is a scenematic trailer and screen shots from that. The actual game play and final graphics are NOTHING like that. And thats funny how Jeremy Ricci attacks me and twists some works I said about PDZ and puts them into this thread. I avoided this thread and your replies because lets face it. Jeremy All you do is start arguments in almost every single thread you start.
If people that dont have this game dont believe about motorstorm then look, gametrailers.com made their own video proving how misleading this game was too. It shows 100% how false the game graphics were to the final game play.
WATCH THIS VIDEO! This shows the Motorstorm render vs actual game graphics. Target render vs actual game play (12 mb)
I also like how you said that GOW doesn't have good graphics. The funny part is that every single trailer you see of GOW is EXACTLY how the GOW graphics look online and offline.
BTW I unsubscribed from this thread a long time ago because of the rediculous bashing over and over from Jeremy. He might be a person that likes to go on and on and on and argue with others but I am not that way. This will be my last reply in this thread.
JUST WATCH THAT VIDEO I POSTED AND YOU WILL SEE WHAT I AM TALKING ABOUT. :)

I will say this:

The video Camaroboy saw:

http://www.ps3portal.com/downloads/MotorStorm/E3-PS3-MotorStorm-Gameplay.wmv

And his response to it:

WOW that inside view looks extremely realistic!! I will add this video to the first post.

If that's not praise for in game footage, I dont' know what is. Yet now he's going back on his word? We told him say...250 posts ago? That the E32005 trailer was not in game, but that the final game would come close, and it has. We've got tons of mud, awesome car damage, 15-16 cars on track, dust, AMAZING lighting, outstanding animation and rag doll physics...but yet he goes back on his word?

The only thing anyone is left to chalk it up to is fanaticism. Because he's gone completely back on his word, flame bait? Who knows...but he went back on it for no reason.

If this isn't a game version of "cooking the books" I don't know what is. There was a "little" difference there.

There's a HUGE difference between the CG trailer and the game, but the game is STILL stunning, and people (we know who) have admittedly said the game looks great, with amazing dust / mud / damage (which no other next gen game has, period) and they're being petty, probably for reasons of jealousy or console "fanatacism".

I saw this gametrailers' video comparing the E3 render and the actual game about a month ago, and it was a bit disapointing. I agree the game is not close to that CG and back then we all hoped it was going to be, but this doesn't mean it's a bad game, nor that its graphics aren't great. That video just reminded us of what was advertised back on E3 '05 and the big difference there are between them.

Not directed at anyone in particular, but hasn't this been the case from the beginning of time? The rendered video's are from the marketing group, not the game developers. So what's the problem? We're not to the rendered quality video gaming experience yet. I think we're getting closer all the time, but keep this in mind, the game play of today is the rendered video's of yesterday. We're in a exciting time for games as far as I'm concerned. I was at at the beginning playing ZORK III on my Apple IIe. It didn't even have graphics, it was a text based game. Then to my Mac, yes it was the very first Mac where I played Risk and Crimson Crown. We had still graphics or very limited 10 FPS graphics, to the Atari 2600 and so the progression continues. It will only get better. Look at what they did with Gears of War with the limited hardware that's over a year old now on the consumer market. It will only get better. Personally I think this game looks great and plan to get it when it's available without hesitation.

Have fun, keep playing, and lets not let this thread become flame fest.

I really dont care about the difference in the CGI and actual gameplay. The actual game looks great for a first atempt on a new platform(like RFOM). They gave us a taste of what to expect from gameplay, not graphics. The mud slinging, the crashs, the jumps, the motorcycle chaos and the kind of game to expect. To judge the entire game based on a CGI trailer is shallow and highly immature. The fact that you liked the in car cam of the early game that looks better now is also strange.

The pic is 301 are from the game. There have been videos posted from the JPN version and you can pause the game then pan zoom rotate the camera like PGR3. The Mud seems to be normal maps.

It will keep on being(bad grammar I know) a flame fest until the title is changed.

I just want to know why he keeps on dodging the fact that he DOES like this game, he DOES think it looks amazing. I can't get past it, it's really really bothering me.

More people who are "not impressed" [/sarcasm]

Honestly, everyone is stoked about this game...the media is shallow for thinking it's nothing to be excited for.

Full race video from the Japanese-version. Poor quality, but nice tease.

I'm not a fan of arcade style games like these, but I may have to get this anyway as I'm sure my nephews would have a blast playing it.

BTW: I liked the special effects of the mud kicking up, and the dammage modeling... I was cracking up at the end where it shows the driver side door of the truck/RV(?) clearly broken and flapping about on its hinges. :)

The carnage-fuelled racer has crashed its way to the top of the PS3 charts out East

It's perhaps ironic, considering the game has been developed by UK-based Evolution Studios - and that we still have to wait for it over here - but still hats off to the chaps as MotorStorm has proved one of the most successful launch titles with our Japanese gaming cousins.

And Evolution is obviously chuffed to bits. "It's a real coup for Evolution", said the dev's CEO Martin Kenwright.

"Developing MotorStorm has certainly not been easy - but the team here really delivered. Evolution has a reputation for delivering high quality racing titles, but we really needed to up the ante with Sony's new hardware. We're delighted that the public has agreed with the press, and made MotorStorm the current Japanese number one PlayStation 3 title."

"We can't wait to see how it performs throughout the rest of the world", he added.

European and North American release dates for MotorStorm are to be confirmed shortly, according to official powers that be.

My son had a sleepover and the kids couldn't stop playing this game. Neither could I. This is a very fun game. The Graphics are awesome, too.

I really enjoyed it. But, what I didn't enjoy, with no big shock, was Resistance. Neither did the boys. I downloaded both these games, and it took 45 minutes for Motorstorm, and 2 hours and 15 minutes to download Resistance, which was a complete waste of time.

We also watched Talladega Nights which was not only not funny or the least bit entertaining, but the movie was no where near being HD. I have Jingle All The Way on my HR20 HDD in HD that's much better detailed and stunning. It was fun night, though.

You let your kids play Resistance? They're lucky.

Was the Talladega Nights BD the one that came with the PS3 or the one that was officially released a week or so ago? I read somewhere (I think the AVS forums) that the official release looked a ton better than the copy they packed in with the PS3.

With the movie itself, I'm not surprised that it sucked. Will Ferrell isn't funny.
