MT vs AT - how much faster?

The aim is to make it second nature.

What you want to get comfortable with is just feeling natural, engine rev sound, considered down shifts when you are matching speed gradually etc just like a normal car.

Everyone has great advice already so use that. What helped me but this is many years ago now was I was adamant I wouldn't use flappy paddles and only a real H gate, but the one day I had no where to mount it so I just got used to the paddles.

I took my favourite hot hatch in the game out and just did normal pace laps think "sighting lap" pace I did this for an hour or so and then increased the pace and what I noticed is that you start to not think about changing gear in the same way you don't think about turning, you just see it, feel it and hear it.

Tried doing MT again actually playing through the cafe books instead of getting sidetrack with Pepper races or Licenses. I am getting better at now and not having to fight the gear of your car for the corners is quite nice (noticed it mainly in Suzuka East and Tokyo Expressway choosing not to shift up to take the corner easier and better acceleration out of said corner).

The big hurdle however is when I mess up and having figure out which gear should I even be on after I lost most of my speed, I take longer to recover now as my car either revs or accelerates really slowly until I find the right gear the car should be on

EDIT: That is a bit of a lie, I did the GT Cup Gr. 4 Pepper Race at High Speed Ring as well though I managed to win with MT on
