Multi class 2.4 hour Daytona Road Course

I would like to host and compete in a 2.4 hour endurance race @ daytona road course. I would like to have 2 classes of cars. Each class would have up to 4 competitors. I haven't decided the date because I was not sure if anyone was interested. I enjoy races with multiple classes driving at the same time. I would like to name the classes. If you have a class system you would like to share then by all means share it. This is the class system I have constructed.


The race will have 3 classes.
Class 1, either lmp or FIA gt1 style prototype cars. Let me know which will be better.
Class 2, tc, other race cars. Mostly no performance upgrades. Some do, however

Max Power: 750 bhp

Weight: 1000 kg

RULES AND REGULATIONS

YOU MUST EXIT PIT ROAD LIKE THE REAL ROLEX 24@ DAYTONA CARS DO. ANYONE WHO DOESN'T WILL BE PENALIZED.

No aids except for abs.
Grip reduction: real
Slipstream strength: weak
Tire Wear/Fuel consumption: on
Visible damage: off
Mechanical Damage: weak
Boost: off
Penalty: none
Start type: grid w/false start check

TIME PENALTY FOR MECHANICAL DAMAGE:

IF YOU CRASH AND YOU GET MECHANICAL DAMAGE, YOU MUST PIT WITHIN THE NEXT 2 LAPS. YOU WILL PAUSE THE GAME AND SIT IN YOUR PIT STALL FOR 30 SECONDS BEFORE COMPLETING YOUR STOP AND RETURNING TO THE TRACK. IF YOU DON'T YOU WILL RECEIVE A 2 MINUTE PENALTY FOR EACH OFFENCE ADDED TO YOUR TOTAL TIME.

CAUTION FLAG:

IF MORE THAN 1 CAR IS INVOLVED IN A CRASH. YOU MAY ASK FOR A CAUTION. IF THE CAUTION IS GRANTED, THE LEADER WILL SLOW UP AND ALLOW EACH CAR TO CATCH UP. EACH CAUTION FLAG PERIOD WILL BE 3 LAPS. AS SOON AS EVERYONE CATCHES UP, YOU MAY PIT. ALL 3 CLASSES PIT ON THE SAME CAUTION LAP. PARTICIPANTS INVOLVED IN THE CRASH MAY SERVE THEIR DAMAGE PENALTY UNDER CAUTION. ANYONE WHO CHOOSES TO STAY OUT MAY TAKE A WAVE AROUND. HE WILL CHARGE AROUND THE TRACK AND TRY TO GET A LAP BACK. ONCE EVERYONE IS OUT OF THE PITS. CARS WILL LINE UP IN THE ORDER THEY CAME OUT OF THE PITS. THE NEXT TIME AROUND WILL BE 1 TIL GREEN. THE LEADER CONTROLS THE START. HE MAY START ANYTIME AFTER NASCAR TURN 4. YOU CANNOT PASS ANYONE IN THE SAME CLASS AS YOU UNTIL YOU GET TO THE START/FINISH LINE. FASTER CLASSES ARE ALLOWED TO PASS THE SLOWER CARS. A PIT STOP PENALTY WILL BE REQUIRED. IF YOU DO NOT SERVE YOUR PENALTY, YOU WILL BE DISQUALIFIED.

I like the lmp idea. The gt1 class cars would be class 2. I would like a class for slower cars to make the race realistic. The 3rd class won't be any faster than the rolex sports car series gt class. The only reason I liked the gt1 cars to be class 1, is the fact that they look more similar to the daytona prototype. I appreciate your advice. If you or anyone else is interested post or pm me.

I am not exactly sure what the LM car class is. Could you give me an example of a few cars? I will test these cars and put them in.

No I think those should be a class all there own then for class 3 TC or a few newer RM

Ok the lm race cars will be in class 2, and the tc and rm and other race cars will be class 3. That works ok. Do you have anybody else who would like to race in this event?

But if we can do it an un-even weekend around midday/afternoon/evening gmt time I should be fine

I was thinking sometime in June, so the interest in the race can build up. I believe gmt is 5 hours ahead of my time zone. Do you have an idea of what class you will be running in?

Ok you will be in class 2 or 3. It will not be on the 23rd. Class 3 will be around 600 hp I think. Class 2 will have either stock or fully modified lm race cars. Class one will have whatever wins the poll I added.
