Gt it was 25 laps including out lap as 28 laps inc out that will take it past 52 mins. I would only advise doin this if we go out in 8s to qually and stay on track to get the race underway as last week it took 25mins to do just qually.

I'm interested to see what the GT500 times are going to be tonight... I know I was just shy of running sub 1:49 on Saturday night, but I am on no ballast, so.

That said,1:49s in the state I was in... @andrew1990 I must apologise, I just hope you found it entertaining.

Enjoyed the racing yesterday guys. Apologies about the long running and slightly haphazard qualifying. Thanks to @Storm_SP17 for filling in and a big thanks to Trux for showing up last minute and running with us.

Tune in to HTRG later on to see the action.

Well, a strong showing but not strong enough for the win.

Dropped the ball in Qualifying, in a big way! My lack of feeling out the track meant I was 2 seconds off what I wanted.

Decided to play the long game and go for the no-stop... which I had to ditch when the gap between myself and John got too far and the option too stretched for possibility.

John did very well to hold the gap at 9 seconds after the stop, but ultimately I could have made that battle closer had I went with 1-stop in mind.

As a side note:
GT300 traffic was smooth, and am grateful of this... however, idle sway off the racing line and hesitation in whether you want to allow us to make a pass or not may need thinking about. Just means we commit earlier to our decisions in GT500 is all, the inconsistency in behaviour throws us off in a big way.

I'm very much a "you're a faster class, throw it up the inside of me and I'll make allowances" kinda guy when I run a 300, but that's not everyone's game and it's a risky way to play. But I check my mirrors when nobody is around just because I like the look of my car so  I'm often seeing what's behind me and what's coming to lap me.

I would of been wiped out many a time (maybe a bit harsh) if I'd of stuck to my racing line, this I feel is the source of the hesitation between yielding and running the normal line. ;) Suzuka is a difficult one and I think from my perspective everyone did pretty well. :)

Next round there will be little to no yielding, track is quite wide.

I had quite an eventfull race truth to be told.. Messed up qualy wich I already wasn’t happy about so ended up second to last but I knew I had the pace to be up front or at least somewhere near the front as I was even able to qualify myself up front but still got 3rd in the end so...gues that’s something although I wasn’t happy about my pace in the race as i’ve couldve done so much more

Nothing wrong with 3rd place :)

Agreed. I think its one of those cases where experience is key. You can't really put a fixed rule on it, if I'm honest. It has to come from knowing the people you race and awareness of environment and situation.

Tbh I had a great race a ok start and just maintained a decent pace until gt500 started to show i lost a bit time gap to dk soon as he was in the slip zone was easier to let him by than fight and loose time as was far higher position than expected. I made 1 silly mistake on my own that cost me 3rd place but think it would of been hard to hold gt off anyway. Over all was great fun.

I'll advise against doing a spin or crash over the line at the end of the race, because it leaves a permanent yellow flag at the end of the lap.

I saw you occasionally have some very bad lag, Storm.
The weather had a part to play on that Joe, was getting the idea my internet was a bit flaky when I started seeing a little lag from others that I know don't usually have that issue.

I'm always pretty cautious with backmarkers but towards the end of the race I was taking a few more chances as I had armoredcore in my mirrors and could see AJ in front of me so was no time to waste.

And yeah I did wonder why there was yellows on the finish line, was right behind AJ at the time but it didn't matter as I couldn't get past anyway.

I think we all messed up qualy in some way, I went off at the final chicane but not sure it effected my start position too much.

This is a very good point. Please don't do this, I may be forced to start throwing out penalties (future SuperGT championships will have this specified).

I support this completely, but...truth be told it gave me a ray of hope I might gain back a spot so I pushed to the finish even harder hoping someone was stuck in the sand

I was really happy with everyone's driving except my own. I drove the first five laps like a nervous ninny, and had two come-offs. Fortunately no damage and no take outs, but it did set up some exciting moments. On the other hand I was fully .4-.5 seconds off my pace most laps and a full .6 less than what I expected in qually.

I will say that this group on average is the fastest group we have had in four or five series. Also very fair and considerate driving. This is good to see and really gives me some good motivation to get my driving back together. And slowly it is thanks to the good drivers here.

I was 8 tenths off where I could have been on the race last night. I must learn to hit the track hard even on the outlaps and practice laps or I don't build the confidence to really throw the hammer down during quali and race conditions.

Sorry for doublepost, meant to edit!

But this; I didn't save the replay, but the person I think I know who this refers to has a habit of doing this elsewhere... but don't fret, he won't do it again coz he won't be winning the next one! ;)

1 lap quali is a different beast to normal laps isn't it. It's quite fun :)
