The F2 went in to the 626, mx6,probe ,and b2200, hence how I figure the share bolt patterns. The Ford 2.3 won't bolt in, it was used in the B-series from 1994 to 1997. You see, in 1994, Ford turned the B-series into a Ranger with a Mazda logo and a different grill.

Yes but IIRC they were chassismates in the first place.

626, MX6 and Probe are all FWD.

EDIT: I do stand corrected on the B-series.

But not completely. The Ford Courier DID get the 2.3L OHC.

The 4th gen V6 camaro(rwd) and my sisters '89 buick regal(fwd) share the same 3.8 and bolt pattern, i don't see why the probe and the b2-00 can't share same bolt pattern. To me it just makes the most logical engine swap for the truck.

Edit: I didn't know the Courier was related to the B-series, I'll have to look that one up.

Because FoMoCo and Mazda like to be stupid. And a good bit of the time, FWD and RWD engines do not share bolt patterns even with the same engine. Case in point, the newer Ranger Duratec/Zetec vs the Focus Duratec/Zetec. Same design but the bellhousing pattern differs.

Anyhow, the 2.3 will swap. Just gotta find Courier engine mounts. Transmission crossmember should be the same between the two...

Thanks guys,i just found out that i am very much stupid since i don't know all the chassis codes. You really helped me out,and i will soon start my quest on wikipedia for the codes and that will make me a car expert.
When i install K&N air filter i will become a professional tuner and can/will open my personal tuning company.

Go read some books.

I dont read books, I read magazines

yes, Import Tuner, Super Street, Modified Mag, Turbo, and Sport Compact Car, and sometimes Project Car.

I decided to go back and look at the original video, and to be honest it doesn't look like flames but rather just puffs of exhaust smoke.

Read some books..... there is much more to be learn't through quality automotive books than those magazines.

>.> hands on is better :P
theres a lot more gained from experience
👍 Nothing like first hand experience to know a car. :D
But reading wikipedia or googling is definitely much better than those magazines. Those magazines bring nothing to me but some funny article to read, even if they had some tips its usually very little or just a summary of things. Nothing much at all......

I would say use the mags for heating purposes, but they are not good even for heating.

Find some books like Internal Combustion Engine Fundamentals (J.Heywood,Mcraw-Hill),Fluid Mechanics,Competition Car Suspension(Haynes),Race Car Aerodynamics (Joseph Katz) etc.

Walked straight into the trap.

The "Tech Articles" in those mags...if you combined them all, and did so for years, you still wouldn't come up with a comprehensive list for building a proper automobile. Those are more...well, they're not even for weekend jobs, half the time they're done at a professional shop with skilled labor.

Um, those mags are made for show cars, AKA, cars that look good and handle like stock, if not worst from all the unneeded and added weight. You want to learn the basics, sell your car and buy an air cooled VW or a Jeep CJ3b

Well you got to remember that not all the cars on the magazine are just for show, almost half the time the cover cars are usually time attack, drift or even race cars. I think even some of them performs even better than they look. 👍

Oh, and air cooled VW FTW!!!! Nothing like having a VW Beetle as your first porject car..... 👍

I would like to mention something about the magazines. Import Tuner, Modified, Super Street, those aren't very informative, but if you've picked up a Sport Compact Car recently, you'd see that they really do know what they are doing nowadays.

The tech articles by Dave Coleman are especially good.

EDIT: And lately most of their "Show cars" as you've put it, are abused track cars, evident by the dents and chips in the paint, things like that.

EDIT #2:

I have a hugggeee stack of various tuner magazines. While I do love them, they're pretty much like porn. I can fap to the magazines, but not much else. A good automotive book is the equivalent of The Joy of Sex. You learn all kinds of useful stuff from a book, and yes, there will still be pictures.

Such as? I put 300 bucks into a truck that wasn't even mine, did I get anything out of it? Yes, but I did stuff that actually helps the performance (new weber carb, new stiffer springs and shocks, new potenzas). RX7's are good cars, but they have to be setup right, that means no fart can, lose the weight (dump stereo, dump door panels, dump carpet, and dump headliner), and get a ecu remap first thing, and make sure you have a pro do it that will still be around.

I'll do it once I have money, and when graduate from UTI(Universal Technical Institute).
