I was going to go to UTI myself, but then I looked into it, and realize that the "hot-rod and super street" course consisted of "how to bolt on an air intake" and crap like that, and the auto mechanics course would lead me to a job as a technician. Which I am now anyways, so I'll probably be looking for a difference course of action.

It was cool that the boss of UTI came to my house and parked his twin turbo porshe right in front of my lawn:drool:. I think it was the 993. I remember that he told me that it has somewhere around 550hp-550hp.
That thing was loud.

lose the weight (dump stereo, dump door panels, dump carpet, and dump headliner)

I'll do it once I have money, and when graduate from UTI(Universal Technical Institute).

Removing stuff costs nothing and requires no more knowledge than "Righty tighty, lefty loosy".

What do you actually want the RX7 to be - a perfomance car, or a car for poncing about in?

Both, probably.

More than likely, he thinks, like most misguided teenage import guys, that he can make his car the ultimate street machine. Lemme say two words that will stop that.

Real Life.

Let's face it, you're gonna have tuition, college loans, not to mention driving back and forth between a job and whatever, you'll wear the car out before you have a chance to lay a finger on it.

Never thought this would happpen but, I just sold my 86 Rx7.(I dont care).I sold it for 1100$. Then I bought another rx7 thats a 1988 for 800$.:D

I sold an 86 Rx7, and bought a 88 Rx7.

The 88 Rx7 has an engine swap. It has a JDM S5 Turbo now. Making it with atleast 200hp.
So my old rx7 is gone. now in a better rx7.

I just need the hood for the turbo, cause it still has the stock na hood.

Edit: Dummy me, about the porshe, I meant it has 500-550hp (sorry) LOL!

I met this guy who was selling them in rx7club.com.
The hood is aluminum, and it has a few dents from hail.but it could be fixed.
The seat was never used(so its new), but it was left in the last owners garage for along time, so it has dust (but could be cleaned)

Not a bad deal at all.
The power of Internet :D

All projects need to start somewhere. Also, not everyone can afford thousands to get their vehicles body in decent shape. For $170 that's not a bad deal, it would have been more expensive to buy the stuff at a junk yard.

Fine, maybe I don't get the point in ONE new seat and a "sportier" hood for a car that to be honest needs a LOT of work to look decent in the first place, but, err, that's just me.

I guess I can't stand ratty cars having money put into them in areas that do not make them less... Ratty.

The car needs a bit of work, but it's cheap, so that understandable, but why the hell would you pay any amount of money for an APC "racing seat"?

You spent money to make your car less safe.

The car's paint job looks like crap and ugly. I havent worked on it since I got it. Its cold right here in Chicago and I cant work on it not even on the garage since its impossibl(No space at all)
Rhight now its the time to buy the parts I need to get the engine started. Then in summer its time to work. Snice it use to have the na S4 engine and putting a newer turbo engine from an S5, its hard with all the wireing. The last owner just bought the engine and dropped it in, but never connected anything. He didnt had time to fix the car so I bought it.

So far buying the parts has gone well. The seat was just for fun

and imagine working on a place like this....:nervous:Cold

I know exactly the feeling because my Jag is in Lapeer (Flint area), MI. Which means since it's winter it's a pain to do anything. A garage and a propane heater helps though.

Also, I was under the impression that it was already on the road so forgive me for jumping down your throat like that.

Whats the mileage on the T2 motor? Is it a rebuild or was it taken straight out of a T2 and dropped in?

It was taken straight out of a T2 and dropped in. I dont know the mileage of the T2 motor. I think it only has less than 38,000(I think, I dont remember). The stock NA motor(that was removed) only had about 145,000 like my last Rx7.
When I first had the rx7(my second) I was wondering if it was the a T2 or a T1. I had to find out by myself. 2min latter I saw that it was an electric oil pump and said "it is a turbo 2" only S5's have an electric oil pump right?

I don't advise leaving your car in the cold weather for too long. Once in awhile try spending the time just warming up the engine. My 240 sometimes sits for days but after that I sit in it and warm up the engine. Though I am procrastination on the timing work that should get rid of the small common tick. I have been offered Turbo Manifold's for the KA24 but I declined it because I wanted to leave it Naturally Aspirated and took the advice of Shadow Drifter, trying to take it one day to the track. But watching your video on the first page is just plain stupidity. It sounded like you would redline it and let go of the pedal to make the misfire to come out. You should try looking into the 13B if you want power.

He is rocking a 13b.................. So did my na FC and that thing backfired without me taking it to the redline.
You must mean the 13b-REW that's in the FD? He's got himself a 13bt under the hood. Actually, the 13b-REW in the FD doesn't just drop in. A lot work is needed for it to work and isn't recommended or done much in the RX-7 world. Going 20b powered from the cosmo is where its at.

A 13b-rew, :scared: I would be terrified with all the wireing
