Good job, find the page after we've all corrected your spelling:tup:
At least you're learning.

thanks!:)

That doesn't prove people do it for fun. What can prove it, though, is when an owner himself says he swapped it because the LS was more reliable, and that's why he chose it.

so what your saying is ,that a piston engine is more reliable? Can I have an explenation on why and how?

I thoght a rotary was more reliable.:indiff:

What is with this blasphemy. American engines in Japanese cars, it's a disgrace :yuck:

I know right. (same here)

:yuck:

You really are a dim bulb. Read what you just linked to.

1983, it made the list. There has been 25 years of cars to come out since then.

I'm just giving an example of a good car with a rotary.

Do you have the memory of a gold fish? Also in your sig it should read, when you could have "a" lighter, smoother, "more reliable" rotary engine ;)

Don't make so much posts one after another, you can get banned for that, but I'd like to say, pretty much ANY car that ever had a rotary was a pretty good car.

Now, for the explanation of why a piston engine is more reliable than a Rotary, you have to realize that there is no specific reason an LS1 is more reliable than a rotary, it's just that the rotary engine is less reliable.

So it's not:
Rotary - reliable < LS1 - More reliable

It's more like:
LS1 - Reliable > Rotary - less reliable.

Also, it's not that any piston engine is more reliable, I'm talking specifically about LS engines, since your sig is implying that instead of a LS1 (the most common "big stupid v8" swap), you could have a reliable rotary, when the LS1 is a more reliable engine.

If I HAD to give a reason why and how, because the rotary engine isn't as reliable (which makes the LS1 more reliable when comparing the 2) and how - Because the typical piston engine has been made for decades, while the rotary engine is fairly new (and only 1 manufacturer has actually been using them).

EDIT: @ Breakpoint: It shouldn't have "more reliable" because it's not.

Im not bagging on you because like RX7s...thats fine. What I am bagging on is the fact you really dont know about the mechanics of them yet you try to talk like you know whats going on with cars. You would be suprised how much you might learn if you could actually be receptive to real knowledge that is being shared with you. You seem to pick and chose what you want to hear/see in the other members post, like you didnt just get corrected with real facts. Stop being so stubborn and you might learn something. This isnt a playground where you can blow smoke up peoples butts and not get called on it. Once you lose credability, you have nothing.

@ tfujiwara, I just merged a quadruple post by you which was responding to 4 separate quotes. Please acquaint yourself with the multiquote button. It appears as 2 overlapping speech bubbles next to the regular quote button. Click on that in each of the posts you wish to quote and a small green check mark will appear. Hit Quote on the final post you wish to quote, and all of the previous posts you've hit the multiquote button for will also appear. All in 1 post! 💡 Now you can put your responses to each quote underneath the appropriate quote all in the same post without having to post multiple times.

It's a great function. Please get used to using it and avoid multiposting in the future.

Sorry, you FAIL, and yes, I knew the chassis code was FB (hey did you know that?), and no, I don't want to take it to PM's. Please go to school. Or something.

You really are a dim bulb. Read what you just linked to.

Some of the posts in this thread by many members (not just these two examples, but they're the most recent) are verging on crossing the line into personal attacks. It's not what we're after around here, so please try to keep your discussion civil, and steer yourselves away from abuse. ;)

I own an 84 RX7. I dont like it. not to much to say about it.

Too small
Doesnt always start
Loves to use oil
Should get better gas mileage
Lacking power, lots of it

I hope you realize that i was correcting spelling and not saying that a rotary is more reliable...which i think you do but were just poking at the topic more.

Yes, a piston engine is more reliable in a car. I don't know the exact specifics, but the piston is the chosen engine for automobiles these days due to the fact the piston engine has had years of research and experimenting. Piston parts are also incredibly cheap compared to rotary parts. Most mechanics these days probably don't know how a rotary engine would really work because they more than likely don't see it very often.

For the record, I meant it as more of a disgrace to the engine. I could really care less about Japanese cars.

Yeah, thats what I said! If Mazda had build a better engine, there won't be as many swaps as we would see right now.... :indiff:

I would have thought the problem is more along the lines of when the engine starts to break, not many people know how to fix it. The engine itself is a good one.

Why waste time and money trying to find elusive spare parts, when you could just install a different engine which is reliable and has cheap and plenty of available spares.

Sorry about that, guys. That was out of my control, but I removed the image a while ago.

Alright, I'm just suprised it was up there for so long and no one noticed it...
Yeah, it was totally against the AUP imho. Your lucky to get away with that Omnis, otherwise there would be a serious baanation going on.
