He'll probably move Junior up in the points too.

Are you talking about owner or driver points?

Interesting that Hendrick might run full nationwide team considering deal with Jr motorsports.

Never seen a nighttime qualifying session at night before. This should be good.

Where did you hear that?

Yep, Hendrick might run a Nationwide car next year full time with Regan Smith as the driver.

If that turns out to actually happen, it would be awesome. I think I remember saying after the announcement Smith was leaving the #78 team that it would be cool for him to get a high-end Nationwide ride for 2013. Looks like it may actually happen. 👍

Are you sure Rick Hendrick wasn't referring to JR motorsports?

The guys that go last should have a huge advantage as the track continues to cool. I can't believe no one's knocked Biffle off the pole yet.

@Gordon fans

Jeff qualified 13th, but don't forget there's still 2 more practice sessions to get the car perfect. If anything I'm expecting another top 3 finish.

It's why I'm glad next year they will draw again for qualifying positions since it might give smaller teams some help.

I hope they take Junior's "My Chase" commercial now that his title hopes are gone and make one for Gordon.

Good luck to all teams and drivers racing at Charlotte this weekend. That includes the Nationwide teams/drivers tonight and the Cup teams/drivers Saturday night.

Is it wrong that when I saw the 88, the first thing I thought was "well at some point, Danica's gonna show some pink"

And yet you guys still watch. Honestly if you guys know this is gonna happen (well with any other cup driver, period), why do you keep watching? I'm pretty much avoiding the Chase and given whats been said the last few weeks, that was clearly a good decision.

I do mainly because I like racing. It does seem funny that some cup drivers can win on both levels, some can mainly on NW and others on Cup.

The weirdest one of them all is Kasey, he very rarely makes a dent in nationwide but in cup is is usually a guy to watch.

I still will watch Nationwide mainly because it seems that series is very willing to add some variety and with it, comes alot of interesting drivers. Its Cup I have a problem with because for the most part, I just find it uninteresting anymore, almost to the point that I'm probably gonna decide NOT to attend the Cup race at TMS (unless NTG Inside line is there). You look at the schedule and the tracks and other then the Road Races and Restrictor plate races, its become unwatchable. Little to no variety on the regular schedule and the Chase is even worse. The new cars do have my attention at the moment but if I find it anywhere near is uninteresting as I have this season, I'm done with Cup.

Kasey actually has the speed in Nationwide, just not the luck he has in Cup.

This is why I really enjoy truck series because it's always unknown even if the guy has won there before. Nationwide is hit or miss depending while Cup has been pretty boring as of late but I still watch it. The problem is tracks and cars, but maybe next year will be better.

Kasey has had some speed but very rarely does he run upfront for long periods in nationwide.

I think the racing we saw with the Nationwide cars yesterday is the type of racing Nascar wants with the new cup cars next season.
