Realistically, the championship is Jimmie Johnson's

Well I think if Keselowski truly wants to rid himself of Johnson then he MUST win Martinsville. I just don't know though...I don't know if Keselowski is strong enough to out duel Five-Time for the championship.

Realistically, the championship is Jimmie Johnson's down to five drivers: Keselowski, Johnson, Hamlin, Bowyer, and Kahne.

No, realistically its down to Johnson and Keselowski..but im rooting for JJ although i do not like him. I dont like johnson, but i hate Keselowski.

Yeah, but I'd much rather see a new champion though.

That's some evidence that NASCAR has a bias towards Johnson. While I don't believe that NASCAR scripts their races, they try to help certain drivers as much as possible, which messes everything up.

Just let the drivers race, not have them slow down just so that Jimmie can get back to the front.

Or maybe Rick Hendrick paid nascar!

Dude, we get it, you think that Johnson is going to win the championship. Not to be rude but the fact that you keep saying it is getting annoying.

I didn't mean to say it in a rude way. Sorry if I pissed you off, man.

Also, a certain someone might not be happy that A.J. Allmendinger will be replacing Regan Smith in the #51 at Martinsville. It was mentioned on NASCAR Race Hub earlier tonight.

I noticed on the entry list that there is a TBA on the #33 car. Maybe Regan will drive that car?

I highly doubt that unless RCR through a car together for him which I doubt that now. The 33 has been a back marker all season and didnt do well at Martinsville.

Who isn't happy? Regan was unsure about Jr depending on test outcome but Finch had to make a call I'm sure to put someone in that seat already

The 33 isn't even owned by RCR, and Regan Smith was only scheduled to drive the 51 for the two races that he ended up driving the 88.

I know that but that would be only way I'd see him in the 33 which it did run with Austin this year. It's not the end of the world and he might be on sub duty just incase anyway

I hope he at least gets a full-time ride for someone on the Nationwide side.

Then again, Smith doesn't seem to get a lot of breaks, so he'll probably be driving for a start-and-park team.

He'll get a good ride. This year or next, I feel it. He did great subbing for Jr. Remember Hendrick is interested in him for Nationwide next year.

Richard Childress is listed as the owner of the 33 still. And the 78 is a satellite team of RCR, so you never know.

Regan will most likely replace Danica in the 7 in Nationwide next year.

Thank god for that even if I'm not huge fan of cup drivers back in NW

That would be awesome to see that car get real driving talent; but unfortunately that means "Crashica" gets to spend a whole season in Cup. :yuck:

Pretty sure thats gonna happen regardless of what goes on in Nationwide.

Regan will be in the 5 next year fulltime with TaxSlayer at JRM.

http://www.jrmracing.com/news/2012/10/24/jrm-360-episode-36

and Regan will be in the 51 the last 2 races at Phx and Homestead.

thanks for the heads up. I wonder if that means someone else will drive the 7. Hopefully red sorenson gets a good ride again. Or maybe Johanna long.

EDIT: I just read the article. I am confused as to why they would move Cole Whitt to the 7 car. Why not the 88?

NASCAR should take V8 Supercars as an example for cautions and how many laps NEED to be run under caution. NASCAR runs way too many.

Problem is the circuit racers have laps from 1:30 and longer. before they come back around. This gives time for an accident to be sorted. They also have tons of runoff areas at most tracks. Nascar laps are closer to 30s, so if theres an accident and no caution is called the cars will arrive to the accident before it is cleared and the drivers are out. Also due to the tubeframe layout nascars are more likely to drop broken bits out the bottom

V8 Supercars are tube frame too. They just use bits of the factory shell to make them more production like. And I'm talking strictly under caution, nothing to do with accidents under green. Just saying it only takes a typical V8SC race about 2-3 laps under caution to get things sorted (with pit stops!) and to go back under green.

NASCAR will tend to run at least twice that, even if for just a spin or debris where the situation can be cleared quickly.

Regan Smith signs for the #5 car in NNS next year.

He would have been the perfect replacement in the #20 in my eyes. I don't see Championship potential in Kenseth in the current chase format but Regan could be nutured much in the same way Hamlin was to be such.

Denny Hamlin hasn't won a championship either, and your comment sounds like you are severely overrating Smith and severely underrating Kenseth.

You hit the nail on the head with that one. Matt has always been a contender for wins and a championship every year for the most part. Regan could make a chance but that's about as far as I see him going (if he were in better cars like HMS fulltime). 2013 will show his skill level honestly.
