Just relised the NASCAR K&N Pro Series (East I believe) is this weekend. So we've somehow actually got four series racing this weekend. Thats got to be a very busy weekend to manage.

East finished last week at Rockingham. The West is racing their season finale tomorrow after the Nationwide race I believe.

About Harvick, I have a feeling there's something more here than meets the eye. I have a feeling that Harvick is mad because of the Dillon brothers and he knows that, as long as he stays with RCR and the Dillons are there, he won't get the best equipment and he will be the third option behind Austin and Ty. The same can also apply to Elliott Sadler, who's leaving at the end of the year, not to sound like a conspiracy theorist, but there have been times this year that I've questioned RCR's decisions on the track for Sadler; there have been times (esp. at Kansas) that I've thought that they don't want him to win the title, they'd rather somewhat sabotage Sadler to help Dillon gain points and win the title. But that's just me. At the end of the day, I don't blame Harvick or Sadler for leaving RCR. So in three years, RCR could look like Austin Dillon, Ty Dillon, Paul Menard, and Kurt Busch.....Not a terrible roster, by any means.

I've seen plenty of track building deals like this one before (You could write an entire book on NASCAR's elusive New York City track that they finally abandoned on a few years ago). So I wouldn't be shocked if it happens or if it doesn't happen. It does have a better chance than most, though, because
1. It has been approved for construction.
2. It is more than just a dinky oval. I love Martinsville, but when I went out there a couple weeks ago, there was nothing down there outside of the track. That doesn't work as far as new tracks go.
3. NASCAR wants more slices of the Canadian racing pie.

Worth mentioning is that Jimmie Johnson can clinch the title this weekend given that he wins and leads the most laps, Keselowski finishes in 37th or worse, and Bowyer finishes worse than 8th.

Chances are very slim though! I would say someone would get into JJ if that was case I bet.

Nope, not as a replacement but according to the reports, he'll be in a 4th car.

Thats a scary prospect because that would basically mean that SHR is about to become Hendrick Motorsports #2.

Not completely. Unlike Hendrick, they will never get all 4 drivers in the Chase with that roster.

You forget that Hendrick at a time also didn't get all four of its drivers in the chase (remember that disaster called Lance Mcgrew?)

Even those really bad years that Jr. had a few seasons back are better than Danica will ever do, so yeah, a replacement is needed before there's any chance of 4 SHR drivers in the Chase.

Next season will be an incredible season for NASCAR.

Penske on the way up with Keselowski.

SHR with sponsorship and less headache off the track (or perhaps more with Danica :sly:)

RPM with Almirola stringing a few strong finishes this late in the season.

JGR with the acquisition of Kenseth.

MWR with a massive boost in performance this season and Truex Jr. with a renewed contract with no real weakness in any of their drivers.

HM as always are the powerhouse and all four drivers deservedly in this season's post-season.

RCR with lots of potential and Harvick to perhaps give SHR something to look forward to in 2014.

RFR with Stenhouse Jr in the Cup finally. No argument over this man's ability to drive a stock-car.

I think Armadillo in the 43 will be the surprise (In the vein of Vickers and Mayfield) in the Chase next season.

That reminds me about something I was going say. Are the 1st-tier teams on the fall, and 2nd-tier teams on the rise? We know that RCR has had a mediocre season this year, with all drivers going winless and only one driver making the chase. Then you look at RPM with Aric Almirola and Marcos Ambrose both being consistent as of late, and it's only a matter of time before they both start winning (more) races.

Then you have Furniture Row Racing with Kurt Busch. He had that top 10 two weekends ago at Martinsville and I think that he's going to be a dark horse for the championship next year. I also think that he's going to make the chase next year. A bit of a long shot since he's in mediocre equipment, but he has what it takes to get that car into victory lane.

I wonder who is going to replace Joey coulter? Maybe Tim George or David Mayhew

Tim George Jr for sure. Seems like Mayhew doesn't really race enough in the trucks.

I think every few years every team has to update, change, and experiment, or else they end up like EGR (Won Daytona, Indy, Charlotte, and the Glen in 2010-2011/2012 they have done nothing). The 1st tier teams, outside of Hendrick and Roush, rarely change because "If it ain't broke, don't fix it", which leads to years that JGR and RCR are having right now. The 2nd tier teams are willing to try anything, but unlike the 3rd tier (FRM, TBR, etc.), they have the money and the resources to do so.

Also, unrelated, but that new Mobil 1 commercial is funny once you think about it:
What Would Tony Stewart Do? Hire Kevin Harvick. :D
What Would Lewis Hamilton Do? Go to Mercedes. :banghead:

You really think Roush will help Penske? Especially when his new golden boy is coming in next year?

I'm open to being proven wrong, but getting engines from Roush seems like a huge mistake.

Grab Delena harvick's butt and make her husband work for him.

Then grab Kevin Harvick's butt and tell him to go faster

There's the question of where else could Penske have gone. Would he be content with being 3rd best with Toyota? Would Hendrick even be able to supply yet another big team with engines?

Only other way would be with lolRCR.
TBH, I don't understand why Penske took the Ford deal. Now instead of getting all of the Dodge money with a top of the line in house engine shop, they are the new RPM with an out of house engine deal run by a rival team.
