NASCAR Expansion Discussion

Huh, it appears that the new gameplay features are part of the May Content Update and not, as some feared, of the NASCAR expansion pack.

With what could be a long-awaited implementation of drafting, rolling starts & mandatory pits, a cosmetic damage + wear&consumption option and an even further refinement of Drivatars, this may be the update that finally solves most of my gripes with the game. Too bad we won't likely see an option for adjusted fuel consumption and tire wear ratios... Yet.

What's with their emphasis on "what if..." scenarios? I'm not denying the fun potential of those, but I sit here and wonder how much proper NASCAR there is going to be at display here. Isn't the idea of a fairly correct depiction of the sport what most fans would be drawn to about this expansion?

So, sidewall writing, isn't this what people asked for for a long time?

That was the little stupid thing I asked for a couple of days ago, and yes I was really hoping they would do it. It's funny how such a tiny, minuscule detail can make your day. :)

Maybe from a vocal minority. I have no delusional belief that proper sim racers out number people that just want to race cars on consoles.

Why do you bring serious sim racers into it? To put my original questions into a comparable perspective, I'm sure a lot of casual players play the official F1 games because they are interested in F1 for what it is.

Not a lot of them evidently, as all CM F1 games have bombed hard other than the first 2010 version. People like their variety.

I get the part about variety, but the root of my question was not that variety is bad. I'm only slightly bewildered how they have managed to release the NASCAR Expansion without communicating what this fundamentally means in terms of bringing the official license into FM6. Instead they release a somewhat vague description informing people here's a new NASCAR campaign where you'll race against anything. How will the essence of NASCAR be showcased? That's not clear and in my opinion a considerable PR blunder.

I'm really close to buying a Xbox one man lol. My favorite Motorsport is on this game now:drool:
DMI better hurry up with NASCAR 16 or I might get this instead.

Since NASCAR 16 comes out on XBOX One, why not just get an XBOX One with the FM6 bundle and this expansion as well, and when NASCAR 16 comes out, you can buy that too? You can have your cake and eat it too. :)

Will be picking this up in a couple of days once it goes on retail sale. Looking forward to driving Denny's car on Homestead.

OP Updated with the performance information and upgrades for the NASCARs. All NASCARs are exactly the same, so to avoid redundancy, I've listed the all of the performance numbers and upgrades once.

With the Nascar expansion are all the unlocked in your garage or do you have buy them? I'm asking because I have to wait a few weeks to get this.

Once you buy and install the expansion, all of the NASCARs are immediately added to your garage for free. 👍

Do they have their own NASCAR tab in the garage or are they placed under their respective manufacturers? I'm asking because the Porsche Expansion came with that yellow bar to highlight them in the garage as part of an expansion.

I think they'll come in under their respective manufacturers rather than have their own tab.

All? Even between the manufacturers?
