Kaz wanted Gran Turismo to have all forms of motorsports in it, and NASCAR is a huge part of American Motorsports history.

Kaz also attended a NASCAR race and wanted to share the particular form of motorsport with the world through Gran Turismo

Adding NASCAR also had some hidden benefits.

We got Daytona and Indianapolis as a result I think. You may not like the ovals, but both tracks have quality roadcourses.

👍

Did some laps around Daytona Road the other day in a slightly tuned Z06. Great fun.

NASCAR isnt even racing, its just turning left. stupid that PD would allow that junk to be in their game.

By that same logic, Indycar is just as pointless since they also turn left.
Now assuming you actually know what you'e talking about and can come up with something other then the old excuse "they turn left all the time", exactly how is it not racing?

Exactly, so are you(EAsports017) saying that two of the most prestigious races in the world, the Indy 500 and the Daytona 500, are pointless?

One thing i thought of, is that if it is the 20 country, 70 track/variations system... they could have all sprint cup tracks... there are 22 in the season if i remember correctly. That would leave 48 other tracks... what do you think?

Who else than me wants to see old Stock Cars? 50's, 60's, 70's, 80's and 90's anyone? And how about trucks?

Definately agree with you, Strittan. Would love to see those:tup:

some interestng tidbits on damage, and NASCAR rules ingame. maybe they implimented the NASCAR rule that if you start to pull away from the pack, someone throws a wrapper on the track so that they can throw a dabris yellow.

Kaz said they want to implement as many NASCAR rules as they can

What rules are they talking about?

But any NASCAR fan know that you can't have a NASCAR race without caution flags and a pace car

36 Races on 22 tracks...

Richard Petty to people who listen to country music is Michael Schumacher to Germans...i.e. the god of racing.

Sorry if people already know this, but yah...

Im a closet NASCAR fan and i think its great that they included the series in :)
I hope they include atleast one more Oval track, specifically, Lowe's motor speedway. Now i just wonder if we can use the Cars on all the tracks in game. Maybe even a test run on the Top Gear test track. Sweet.

Lowe's would be fun to take a few Imports out on, less you can only run the NASCAR cars there.

I've just had an idea...embarrass all the rednecks with...GODZILLA!!! Mwah hah hah...

Who else thinks that 22 tracks dedicated for Nascar would not be a waste of space on the disc?

Not to mention with those 22 tracks, most of them have infield tracks.

Is it wrong to wish for 22 tracks to be in the United States?

I think its wrong to implement 22 tracks of the same nature, for one type of racing, when the attention to detail of the tracks means PD will have to put the release date back, or not include other great tracks.

I agree with IsmokeGT, 4 tracks minimum, but we want a few more. Its not absolutely necessary to have all of them, but if you have more than 10, they may aswell go the whole way for the full championship.

 I'm no redneck, more like a brownneck, hahahah, i just love the 43 car had a few models when i was a kid. I don't really know anything about Richard Petty.

there should be 2 versions of GT5 one with NASCAR for the US market and one with WRC for the rest of the world. It could even raise funds for PD if they had NASCAR just as a paid for DLC. it dilutes the gran turismo franchise really, i feel PD/japanese driving enthusiasts would rather stay at home than watch a NASCAR race. It's been done for purely dollars. It helps the budget perhaps, but it makes us wait longer. i could do without the WRC content aswell to be honest.
