I can't agree. This [GT5] car was to be part of the GT5 ad campaign. The delay is very much the reason.

How does a game's delay determine whats gonna be on the car? Even more after thinking about it, how exactly did we know they were run specifically that paint scheme? There was a press release that they were running a Gamestop car, but there never was mention of GT5 at all on it. I'm honestly beginning to think we only assumed (even me) that was gonna be on the car since at the time, that was the only gamestop paint scheme we saw, which as it turns out was only for the game. Really, the fact that I don't see that GT5 car on the JGR site or on Gamestop racing site tells me that it was never in the cards. Sure, Joey drove a COT at the gamestop meeting, but that was the nationwide car, not the cup car.

GT5 doesn't have the Nationwide cars, so therefore, he was driving a cup car. And if you scroll down one more inch on jayski, there is a pic of the car with GT5 on it.

That was my point. He drove the Nationwide car:

Look at 0:37, no splitter braces. And besides, it was at a Gamestop conference, of course they gonna show that.

Because again, there was no official pictures or concept mockups of the paintscheme itself so they posted a shot of the ingame car.

Twitter conversations between myself and @GameStopRacing gave every indication that Joey would be driving the GT5 car. EXCEPT when and it was assumes it would be Nationwide. Jasky threw their had in the ring with a date of Martinsville. Now..., why would they do that? Where would they get the idea to do such a thing? Jasky's is a pretty big deal, being owned by ESPN they should be more credible.

I think Sony pulled the plug. After all, we SHOULD be having the game in less than 2 weeks :(

Interesting. Since I don't have and don't plan on getting twitter(not quite the social person everyone else is), what exactly was said and indicated?

Off-topic but Dude, ESPN is crappy when it comes to NASCAR coverage so "credibility" isn't what they have at the moment. Have you heard their commentators? Seriously,I've never heard "Right now" said so many times in one race, that has to be like a world record.

American life has infibeled his mind. Too much television!!

That's been the topic the past page and a half. He's not even in his nationwide car this week.
We haven't been talking about that, we've been talking about the Gamestop car he's running in the Cup race at Martinsville. Read the posts again because none of us even mentioned him in the Nationwide race at Gateway.

From 3 weeks ago I simply prodded about when and what race we'd see him in that car. Suggested they run it for the next 6 weeks. Response was "it's a secret ;)", same line of questioning on FaceBook. It seemed like it was going to happen.

ESPN, Jasky's, and GTP can't just make up news and present it as real. ESPN & Jasky's has to be more credible than say "GoDaddy-or-GeoCities.com/JimBobzNAZCARsite" if there was such a thing.

Why would they NOT run a GT5 car? It is the ideal video game to
Have on a racing car! LBP? Killzone 2? GoW? MW2? Frickin MARIO! And no GT5 car? How could Sony be so stupid to not have a Gran Turismo 5 car in NASCAR! They even have Schick promotions, Subway! The 2nd largest sport in America and Sony won't promote the game that has been 6 years in the making?!?!

Not that it affects the discussion, but it is a cup car, not a NW COT.

From,
Chris.

Well then if delays affect what is on the hood so much, then how do you explain this?:

Keep in mind, this raced at the exact time it was delayed (something about lyrics from the quran or some nonsense) yet magically, it still shows up at Memphis. Still, I'm quite doubtful that was what we were gonna see based purely on the fact that all we got was a in game shot and no design proof from TDS.com or scale model mockup. You know what, forget it. I'm wasting my time here. All I see is more anger that once again originates from the delay of a game so I'll just end it here. Instead, I'll just head over to the Nascar thread and discuss the fallout of RPM (which has fast become a interesting topic. You should read about it).

One small thing to keep in mind though is ARCA is only associated with NASCAR due to the ever growing list of drivers that came from there (most recently, Lofton and Kligerman). They aren't technically part of Nascar like the others you listed as they are a seperate entity and there's more to them then just the Re/max series(they also operate there own truck series as well as Late model championship).

True. But I was just naming the big ones

I can't wait to take a STOCK CAR for a run. It's going to be a blast. Racing is Racing no matter what form it's in. Only one can finish first and the rest and banging the wheel.

I can't watch a whole NASCAR race, they go on too long but it is cool. Hope gt5 has a pace car!!!!! Imagine if it did. You see a crash happen behind so you dice for the pits and come out in the train of... 15 cars...

What about making the current track on the track editor. Just think of all the comps we have if we're able to get to right or some what close. First we need to see how mach banking we can do with the track editor.

My goodness what a race. I thought Jimmie was in big trouble with about 2 to go.

Also, knowing the Kaz was at Texas Motor Speedway last year, what do you guys think the chances are it makes it in?

true..... I dislike nascar :yuck:

Your in a NASCAR forum why?
