NASCAR in GT5!

Thing is, the old Daytona is in GT5 so it will have bumps. Now there is the possibility that it could be updated to not have bumps like the real track, but then again no car has even been on the newly repaved Daytona so it might not necessarily be smooth as you imply.

Well as long as ever race we have there isn't held up for two hours.:dopey:

If Daytona drives like it did in GT5P, it's waaaay too smooth as a replica of former, historic pavement. I think they should leave it as is to better replicate the new pavement.

I've been a long-time member of iRacing, and their laser-scanned version is like a completely different track than GT5's. In iRacing, you struggle to maintain a consistent line at times, depending on your force feedback setting. In GT5, it's as smooth as butter.

Well then, why did you post that here if it isn't? There's a whole thread dedicated to that game you could post that in (assuming you haven't already done so).

Earlier in the page someone posted a link to some pics of a nascar game, I thought that these were from gt5 (being in the gt5 forum) and seeing a car with pacecar on the side made me think that there may be pacecars in gt5 so I posted it here, however only to then look back and realize the game the pics were from were not gt5.

Oops.

Either way I've read somewhere that NASCAR is going to use the full, official NASCAR ruleset which would include cautions(lord knows cautions play a big part in NASCAR).

One can only hope there will be caution laps and a pacecar in the NASCAR races(and all other forms of racing that utilize a pacecar).

Watching today's Cup race now... Went and bought a snow blower today ;)

Really liking Jeff's Pepsi MAX paint scheme :)

No prob man it 👍 I love Nascar being in GT5, GT5P also got me into F1. I stay up till 5am watching it :lol: I love Nascar though man. Its going to be fun racing some of you guys. Also I found it very challenging racing the AI I only had it on the middle level. :sly:

Edit Yes the sound of the Nascar motor sound wonderful on Indy. Really cant wait to hear the final sounds of GT5 on the surround.

Good to hear that the AI is a challenge. That is the way Nascar races should be! I was fearing it would be easy to pass everyone within a lap.

Thats weird I'm the complete oposite to that I have always loved F1 as it's huge here in England but since I heard that NASCAR is in GT5 I have started to watch it and now appreciate the drivers skill and it is actualy really good.
Plus I got to see some NASCARs for myself at goodwood this year, the cars are so beasty it was great to see.

Heres a video the man standing next to me filmed, luckerly I cannot be seen in the video.

Holy hell, please, PD get the sounds right for the NASCARS if nothing else. God that sound is epic.

As much as I'm dissapointed too, the delay is really not even one bit related to this. Its Gamestop who for some reason chose to promote this over GT5.
 
I can't agree. This [GT5] car was to be part of the GT5 ad campaign. The delay is very much the reason. Why run a car for a game that doesn't even have a release date!

100% Correct. The scheme was only revealed a day ago, odds are, they were going to run the GT5 scheme until the game was delayed.
