Somehow I knew Scott Speed was gonna get the boot sooner or later. I've said before that Red Bull was making a Mistake favoring him over Allmendinger and its been biting them ever since. I'm curious as to what kind of driver chemistry we'll see from Kahne and Vickers come 2011.

Well in more Kasey Kahne related news.

Not sure how credible the Toyota to Chevrolet rumors are as they have been rumored to be making the switch the last 3 years.

Of course this leaves what Red Bull will do in '12 a rather unknown. Personally I think it would be best if they were to work with JR Motorsports to put Allgaier in a Nationwide car(probably the 88) with Red Bull sponsorship for '11 and move him to Cup in '12. Of course this situation would require the Toyota to Chevrolet rumors to be true, but even if they aren't they could align with one of the other Nationwide Toyota teams.

Seems like the next week could be interesting, not exactly great news though.
Doesn't seem that credible. Scott Speed and Brian Vickers have already been fitted for their '11 firesuits. If RB wasn't keeping Speed, they wouldn't have had him fitted for a firesuit. Plus, Penske has already stated that Allgaier is staying in his organization, no matter what.

Be such a shame if AJ doesn't get a drive next year, for me, he has been the most improved driver after J-Mac. I think with AJ, we are seeing another one of those three year transitions because, if I am right, he debuted a couple of years ago and he is starting to get his foot through the door.

he has knocked on it a few times, Dover he was awesome and for some bad luck, he might have won the race. He had another good showing at So-Cal and last weekend, he showed well again.

I think I have a theory that I would like to throw at everyone here. I think, if RPM doesn't make next year, which all the signs are that it won't, there is a spare seat in the 12 @ Penske next year with Kurt moving to the 22 and Crasholowski taking over the blue deuce. Failing that, the RBR team had a speare seat with the 82 going and, if memory serves me correctly, I think Aj drove for Red Bull or a Red Bull sponsored car in Champ Car.

But, let's hope that The King still has his team there next year

There is no extra room at Penske. They are just changing numbers and sponsors. Also AJ has already driven for RBR, but was released and taken by RPM.

Almirola has a multi-year contract JRM 88 team

Link?

Penske did say that earlier this year, he also said Allgaier is free to go somewhere else as they can't find sponsorship for him.

I take back what I said on Speed, since it is true his contract extension is based on his performance.

As for Allgaier, I guess that situation has changed.

I would think that this might be true. Considering Kahne is going to Hendrick in '12, they would want him to get familiar with the equipment he is going to run?

Pretty sure it's because Hendrick only wants his drivers affiliated with Chevrolet.

Denny Hamlin on pole for Sunday's race, also well done Marcos Ambrose qualifying in second place. Crunch time now with five races to go, I believe at the moment its a three horse race for the title. Obviously we all know #48 and #11 are always strong at Martinsville, where as Kevin Harvick, he's had good runs in the past at Martinsville but hasn't won there yet. I think he definitely needs a solid top five finish this weekend to keep his hopes alive.

What's a reasonable price for a Dale Earnhardt number 3 cut out of Daytona's old racing surface? 150.00? Its the same price for a diecast display base. All cut by Jostens with COA.

So much racing has taken place there, so many epic events, and my home track.

Waste of money or worth it?

Worth it. 👍

To me at least.

Maybe it's a hopeless question but I'll try: does anyone know of a decent live streaming link for next week's Talladega?

Did anyone else find it funny to see the #9 Hauler parked next to the 83 Hauler?

Other then justintv, not really sure there is.

There are normally 2-3 people that stream every race on Justin.tv.

Anyways, here is a rumor that involves a team formed from several mergers that isn't RPM.

Earnhardt-Ganassi to Ford? While Chip Ganassi brushed off the possibility of switching from Chevy to Ford as "just a rumor" last week at Charlotte Motor Speedway, sources told FOXSports.com that Ford initiated discussions with the team in July, and a decision could come as early as next week at Talladega Superspeedway. Although Ganassi's NASCAR drivers Jamie McMurray and Juan Pablo Montoya failed to make the 2010 Chase for the Sprint Cup field, the pair has delivered four wins this year. McMurray, who won the Daytona 500 in his return to Ganassi this season, moved from Ford's Roush Fenway Racing at the end of last year. In four years at RFR, McMurray posted just two wins. Ganassi stands to benefit through the support the company would receive from Ford both on a financial and technological basis. When it comes to the pecking order at Chevrolet, Earnhardt Ganassi Racing lulls far behind Hendrick Motorsports, Richard Childress Racing and Stewart-Haas Racing, who shares an allegiance with Hendrick. At Ford, Ganassi would be second only to Jack Roush. The area that would hit Ganassi the hardest would be the loss the company's partnership with Earnhardt Childress Racing Technology engines currently one of the top programs in the garage. ECRT engines have won eight races this season. Only Mark Cronquist's engines at Joe Gibbs Racing have accounted for more (9) wins. With teams already preparing for the 2011 season, ECRT has been told a decision will come from Ganassi by Talladega. ECRT currently provides engines for Richard Childress Racing, EGR and Tommy Baldwin Racing. Furniture Row Racing will join the program next year.(FoxSports)(10-23-2010)

If this happens they should remove the "Earnhardt" from the name as that name will forever be affiliated with Chevrolet.

Much hype about Nascar on GT5 but probably no Dega, probably no spotters, probably no bump drafting and SURELY not 43 cars on track, pffft...

If you're not gonna contribute anything, then don't post.

It was an opinion, as this is a Nascar thread and this is GtPlanet...

But I guess by your friendly tone there's no point in discussing the matter, am I wrong?

As you have it all figured out, what's to discuss.

And if you really want to discuss NASCAR in GT5 go here, the NASCAR on GT5 thread.

Last I checked your "opinion" usually involved bashing so naturally it leaves unwelcoming when suddenly you decide to show up here.

Bashing who, when, what? Well go report me then!

Mate, though I joined GTP before you, I never felt that's a good reason to act as if I own the place, and I'll stick to it. Cheers. ;)

Action packed race as always at Martinsville, congrats to Denny Hamlin on his win. The drive of the day goes to Mark Martin, if only his car was beaten up like that all season.

How the hell did Mark get to second? I missed the second half of the race because of ***** football.

Also I hope ECR stays with Chevrolet. Doesn't ECR have more wins this year than every Ford team combined?

Mark drove like a mad man, thats how:) That was by far the drive of the year for him, even better then his run at California.

Sucks that my boy Jeff Gordon got shafted by the Blue Deuce. Sucks also how Danica Patrick got turned around in the Nationwide race at Gateway. Maybe the best story of the weekend for me was seeing four women racing in the NASCAR Truck race at Martinsville. Congratulations to all winners from all three top series, including all the winners in the lower series of NASCAR.

Bring on Talladega! Especially on Halloween, I'm uneasy about a track like Talladega on Halloween day. This is really where some of the pretenders will see their title hopes fade. So some of the drivers trailing in the championship will need to step the heck up if they want to stay alive in the title fight.
