Has anyone made a montage on how many times his name was mentioned during the broadcast? FAR worse than any race involving Danica. One would think he's the second coming of Christ (sarcasm).

He was mentioned more than Danica because most of the racers were no name drivers. (Don't mean this negatively, just as they aren't famous)

This may come as a complete shock to you, but guess who is changing manufacturers.........again.

I really hope Jennifer has more success than Danica. Maybe people will open their eyes to drivers that actually have talent, drive, and ambition. Danica may have been stellar in her karting or any other pre-IRL racing. She's not doing crap in the IRL. Except being cute. Style before substance I guess.

Its all about the money, talent takes the backseat.

I don't see whats the point anymore, he won't do better. He's pretty had the same result no matter what make he goes with: nothing. He needs to give up on NASCAR, or at least just put someone else in the seat and only drive at the Road Course events since thats the only time he actually has a chance.

After the coming race at Phoenix International Raceway, they are digging the track up and re-paving with a slight re-configuration.

Cliff notes:
  • Widen the front stretch from 52 to 62 feet
  • Reconfigure pit road with the installation of concrete pit stalls
  • Push the dog-leg curve between Turn 2 and Turn 3 out 95 feet
  • Tighten the turn radius of the dog-leg from 800 to 500 feet
  • Implement variable banking to ensure the immediate use of two racing grooves, including 10-11 degree banking between Turn 1 and Turn 2; 10-11 degree banking in the apex of the dog-leg; and 8-9 degree banking in Turn 4

Man I hope they don't ruin it. :nervous:

Give PJ Jones a shot? he drove the 07 car last year for the team?

Meh, not sure. I haven't really seen PJ Jones race enough to actually get a good idea on his skill other then the CUp race at Sonoma (and Watkins Glen I think). If he's at least decent enough, then maybe. If not, I'd go with someone else.

As an off-topic note, I'm starting to like the new Charger as well as the new Charger stock cars. I always want Danica to excel in any racing series she takes part in. So because of this, I'm not going to rough up Danica. Who's to say she doesn't get on a hot streak and start finishing high (or even win)? I still personally think she has unfinished business in IndyCar (winning that race called the Indy 500). Still, I want the best for Danica Sue Patrick.

The new season is around the corner! Can you believe it?

Just purchased my tickets for the PIR race in a couple weeks. First NASCAR race for me in many, many years. First time I'll be in the grandstands as well, since my previous races in Phoenix have been in the turn 3-4 hillside seating. I don't like being amongst lots of people, but this is all I could afford. Can't wait! :D

My parents were planning to go to the spring Vegas race since last year, but guess who haven't bought tickets or hotel or anything yet.

Me too. It's a great track. Might have even been my favorite to drive in Thunder 2003.

Through turns 1&2 at 30 degrees of banking, then onto the back stretch with a bus stop like Watkins Glen, then shoot over to turns 3&4 with 10 degrees of banking and back onto the front stretch.

Little bit of everything. :D

This is going to sound really dumb, but here it goes.

Is it possible to have negative banking in a corner? Obviously, the track would run counter clockwise, but the pavement would lean to the right. Just, visualize it.

Could such a thing actually happen?

.....I think beyond.

They would be going so slow. I appreciate your creativeness, but I think that would be horrible!:dopey:

Yes it is more than possible and it happens in many rally stages and some tracks have turns that have sagged and cambered backwards.

First let me say 👍 enjoy your race, bring back some good pictures.

Second,

Good lord!!! 25.00!?!? Is this because ISC does not own PIR? That's insane, Daytona 500 pole day costs $20.00, I could not even get half of one Bud Shootout ticket for the price of one of yours. That's just not fair, that's a very reasonable price, I'd attend EVERY event during Speedweeks if that were the way the tickets were priced. How in the world could there be such a difference.:irked:

Those are the cheapest seats. Everything else starts at $45 and rises to $110 without all the extras. I wanted to sit on the hillside which is $35, but then I would need to find lawn chairs, etc.

I'll be sure to take my camera. ;)

Sky Sports will be carrying highlights in the UK of the Sprint Cup series, starting with the Budweiser Shootout, 8pm GMT.
