So, I just caught the last 10 seconds of today's practice at Bristol while I was watching Sebring, and I saw something interesting.

Tires...with grooves. What? Formula One must have lost the trademark to NASCAR and that's why they moved to slicks...

Hmmm, thats interesting. Perhaps Goodyear has yet another idea they want to try?

Your winner at Bristol is...

Kyle Busch!

Up next... Another short track. We're talking Martinsville. Great finishes for Jeff Gordon (4th), Marcos Ambrose (10), and Jimmie Johnson (3). There were about seven cautions. I can't even imagine when fans complained that Bristol wasn't a crash-fest after the re-paving or re-surfacing job. Congrats to Kyle Busch on another win.

Wow, its been a Busch fest as of late. I don't think any brother or Father & Son conbination has won back-to-back-to-back so thats incredible. If this occurs alot, the championship might go down between the brothers.

Gordon's on the pole by owner points (rainout).

Any picks here ? I think Gordon can take it this week.

Gordon has a great chance to win it, but with practice most likely being washed out, everybody will have the disadvantage of a lack of track time this weekend.

As a Jeff Gordon fan, I HOPE he wins. I love Jimmie Johnson as much as I like Jeff Gordon, but I think it's time that #24 gets into Victory Lane. When I first got into racing, it was Jeff Gordon and his talent that got me into him and NASCAR. I always want to know how Jeff Gordon is doing. It was 10 years ago that I started following NASCAR a lot and seeing Jeff Gordon win races and finish well. Of course then, I remember the old rainbow #24 colors ten years ago.

Go get 'em, Jeff [Gordon]!

How long until the race (any race - Nationwide will do)? Might just catch some of it...

So John, turns out I'm not the only one who becomes a fan of whoever does well on the first watched race? My trouble is, these were Takuma Sato in F1 and Denny Hamlin in NASCAR - not two guys that win too often...

^ Tomorrow at 1:30ET the Sprint Cup race should be on, provided it doesn't get rained out like the Truck race.

Well Gordon did not win as I had guessed, but his Hendrick teamate Jimmy Johnson took the win at the paperclip (Martinsville).Strong run put forth by Denny Hamlin in the #11 Toyota. Good finish for my guy Ryan Newman who finished 6th.A.J. Allmendinger brings home a top ten finishing up 9th place, nice run A.J.

Johnson's pass was dirty IMO!

Suppose it doesn't really matter all the races to the chase are practice for him now.....

The chase makes this point of the season really boring, what are the top drivers racing for?

As I've been doing since California, I'm only focusing on the Nationwide series. I might be forced to watch cup this time though as the 18 is actually gonna be wearing the old Interstate colors in celebration of Bobby Labonte's induction into the Texas Hall of Fame(ironic considering the team's name he is racing for). That would be cool if either the 18 or the 96 got victory, although I'm leaning towards labonte for the win with the 18 right on his bumper. Dream finish right there.

Why?

At least in Cup, somebody other than drivers from JGR and Carl Edwards wins.

Not as of late. Its hasn't been a Busch edwards dominance so far in wins (even though qualifying appears that way). That and I hate the COTS.

The first of two stops in my home state is this weekend. Anyone want to make predictions as to who will win the races this weekend at Texas Motor Speedway in the Dallas-Fort Worth area?

David Reutimann on the pole for Cup, Kyle Busch on pole for Nationwide.

Saw that earlier, though I still laugh at the fact he is now being reffered to as "The franchise". Somehow, I can't say I'm surprised about Kyle Busch being on pole for Nationwide given Last year's dominating performances.

I'm surprised Kyle Busch or Dale Jr. or anybody have that "franchise" nickname. When I think "franchise," I think of a highly-potent and capable contender with that kind of name. David R. hasn't been too much of a powerhouse, so I'm not so sure about garnering THAT nickname.

RACECAR, you're a Dallas/Fort Worth guy, who do you think will win at Texas this weekend (not just in Sprint Cup)?

Which is what makes that funny, unless it was originally a joke that got taken very far. Lets hope we aren't seeing Nascar's version of the Ohcho Cinco/T.O. Persona.

As much of a refreshing site as it was to see Reutimann on pole, I say it'll be out of Gordon, Johnson or Edwards. Kyle might come into play later on too, but those are my top picks. As for Nationwide, I honestly think its a another Busch vs. Edwards battle with the possibility of someone else snatching the victory. If the first few races are anything to go by, anything can happen.

Well Reutimann has owned Waltrip since that team started in Cup and Michael said that he would step down as a driver and focus on being an owner to do the best he could for Reutimann.

To quote "The Rock..."

FINALLY... Jeff Gordon has come back to Victory Lane!

Not to mention doing it at a track he's never won at. My psychology of winning is that winning races will drive you to win more races and not be satisfied with even being outside the Top 5. I hope Jeff Gordon can not only win in the "regular season," but ESPECIALLY in the "Chase for the Cup" like what that #48 guy does.

No racing next week. But the weekend after, NASCAR's coming to TS country as the NASCAR boys hit up Phoenix International Raceway out in Avondale, Arizona.
