I really don't know why she is even thinking about NASCAR, she should stay in IRL. I think she should wait until she can win consistently and win a championship over there before making the jump.

The NASCAR Nationwide Series is about to rev it up in Atlanta even with college football dominating the airwaves. Good luck to all 43 drivers at Atlanta Motor Speedway.

C'mon Jr, find your way to that foreign to you place called victory lane.
Hopefully Jr. or Harvick can pull it off tonight, hope it wont end up being the Kyle Busch show. Jr. needs a win, be it tonight or tomorrow night, or just some time this season. Hopefully the weather won't play a part in the race. I love night racing, I love Atlanta as well, good night to chill and watch the race!

This.

She needs to prove herself as an IndyCar driver before she does anything else outside of that.

Jr. is moving back up to the front, Kyle is going to be hard to beat tonight though. Good side by side with Harvick. It looks like anyone in the top 5 has a good chance for the win tonight.

Edit: What kind of BS caution is that? Steve Wallace BRUSHES wall, Nascar throws a caution. Guess Kevin Harvick lapping up to the 5th place car is not alright by Nascar. Seriously, since when do they throw a caution for a car brushing the wall? Now KB has the lead back, here comes the restart.

Guess Harvick reversing his wedge adjustments and KB making air pressure changes just reversed their roles, KB is pulling away by a tenth a lap now. OR perhaps not because K-harv is reeling him back in now that their in traffic.

Kevin Harvick WINS! In dominating fashion might I add, leading over 180 laps, lapping all but the top 5 cars. Jr. tried to win it on gas mileage, finished the race but Harvick sealed it with 2 to go. Great job to KHI, Atlanta under the lights didn't disappoint. Looking forward to tomorrow night!

Not trying to DP, just has to do with another NASCAR series.

Anyone watching the CWTrucks Lucas Oil 200 from Iowa? Hornaday is running 6th, 34 laps in the books, Skinner has been leading so far. Austin Dillon, Richard Childress's grandson is running in the top ten in his black number 3 truck as well. Anyone have any picks?

I agree. She is just now getting consistant enough for a championship and thats the last thing she should do.

I even said in a poll that Danica should remain in IndyCar. Even Danica still wants to win the Indy 500. Her title hopes are over this season in IndyCar, but she still needs to keep up the great work in IndyCar before moving on to NASCAR. Maybe she finds her niche with stock cars, but the ICS is where she needs to be. And if she does go into Sprint Cup, I don't want to hear ANYTHING about being in the same league as Dale Jr. as far as being in the overrated category goes.

Congratulations to the 1999 NASCAR Cup champ(?), Mike Skinner, for winning in the Truck series at Iowa.

Congratulations to the 1995 NASCAR Truck champ, Mike Skinner, for winning in the Truck series at Iowa.

Fixed.

Oh man, tonight's going to be a nail biter for those around the 12th place spot!

Unless if one of them runs into problems, I really don't see the battle to get in the top-12 changing much, Kahne, Martin, Kenseth, Busch and Vickers all run fairly well at Atlanta and they're all starting in the top-15 tonight.

It's all gonna go down at Richmond.

Thought Skinner won the NASCAR Cup title in 1999. Anyhow... Sprint Cup at Atlanta under the lights. Who'll be the first to the finish line and checkered flag tonight? Last call, mates!

Dale Jarrett won it in '99

Come on Kenseth!!!

Strong run is a must. Top 5 at least.

Good God Hornish! Two cautions, two of which were caused by the Indy 500 winner.

Great race and congrats to Kasey Kahne for the win!

Montoya with another strong run finishing 3rd.

Kenseth barely coming out of there with 12th. A lot of sleepless nights ahead for the 17 team. Going to Richmond next week, the 17 car will have a big ol' target on the back bumper.

Tough luck for top contenders, Johnson, Edwards, Kurt Bush, and Stewart.

Another very under the radar but strong finish for Mark Martin.

And gotta give a shout out to the 00 car.

I'm gonna double that and give a big shout to Bobby Labonte in the 71, awesome run he had until the end and to Kev Harvick in the 29, about time he had a strong run

Kenseth definitely had one of nights where he deserves a spot in the chase, he knocked the rear bumper off, lost a lap, ended up with a top 10 finish.

The charlotte sentinel published a story about toyota refusing to supply kyle bush a lexus as they did for logano and hamlin because of his wreckless driving and poor attitude. The paper also says that kyle hired the car thiefs to steal the lexus, change the color the vin # and the lic. plate and than deliver it to kylie bush.

Conspiracy theories always make me giggle! Even more so when the information presented is totally wrong!

(Kyle Busch also has a Lexus which was given to him by Toyota)

Yep

Childress has been crap this year, good to see at least one team get a good run.

Here are the standings from positions 8-16 as of the date of this post:

08 - Juan Pablo Montoya (3,145 pts.)
09 - Ryan Newman (3,138 pts.)
10 - Mark Martin (3,126 pts.)
11 - Greg Biffle (3,125 pts.)
12 - Matt Kenseth (3,077 pts.)
13 - Brian Vickers (3,057 pts.)
14 - Kyle Busch (3,040 pts.)
15 - David Reuitimann (2,945 pts.)
16 - Clint Bowyer (2,909 pts.)

After this weekend, who's in, and who's out of the Chase? This is almost like trying to make March Madness.

I know, someone is always trying to get rise a out of something.

My Predictions:

8th - Montoya (in - just needs a solid top-15 finish)

9th - Newman (in - same boat as Montoya)

10th - Martin (in - he runs well at Richmond, just needs a solid top-10 run)

11th - Biffle (Out - 16 team has been too inconsistent)

12th - Kenseth (Why he could be in - Matt always finds a way to get in the Chase; Why he could be out - RFR has struggled since Kenseth won the first two races; I have him in the chase because if they can perform like they did at Atlanta, they deserve a shot to go for the cup)

13th - Vickers (Why he could be in - He's scored the most points the last 8 races, momentum is in his favor and everybody is always raving that NASCAR is a "momentum" sport; Why he could be out - He's never been much of a short track racer, I have him out because of this)

14th - Busch (Why he could be in - He runs pretty well at Richmond, and if he wins or gets a top-5 or top-10 finish, that's all he needs; Why he could be out - He has gotten into trouble many times by giving up when he's not running well, but if the team can stay behind him and keep him motivated, this won't be an issue, I have 'ol Shrub making the chase)

15th - Reutimann (Out - The top-5 yesterday at Atlanta was too little, too late, but I applaud him and MWR for the strides they have made)

16th - Bowyer (Out - He's mathematically out to begin with, plus, RCR needs to go back to the drawing board, all 4 teams have been terrible)

Bowyer screwed his chances back before Bristol. It was all downhill when the cutoff was getting closer.

I thought Montoya was in the top five in points, commentators on ESPN coverage said so

Unless someone made a move and got a better result at the time.

Never trust ESPN's commentators.

And probably was because they showed the championship points "as they're running now".

What is this? Danica is coming to NASCAR's lower ranks it looks like.

http://www.autoblog.com/2009/09/08/report-danica-patrick-to-drive-nascar-in-2010-remain-with-indy/

And the pictures aren't to bad either , but seriously

So i bring the story of Stewart wants her and Skyline confirms it for me, I am willing to take a moral victory for bringing that story(!)

What is with the pictures, they are ruining a perfectly good article.:P

I thought the article ruined the pictures

I don't think the pictures are that bad. She does have quite a nice rear, I must say. :D

The car or Danica?
