^Me, and I've only watched a minute!

Piquet stalls it on the start!

EDIT: And now he takes out someone, I think Kimmel.
EDIT2: And he takes out Danica but she saves it kinda! Change of tires should fix it.

I think the race was already in overtime so any caution meant the end

Looks like "have at it boys" equals alot of torn up racecars so far

But I think NASCAR has a nice package with the COT here, the cars are bunched up but you can see they have to drive them

Danica did well in the ARCA race today though at times she showed her inexperience in the draft. However I still question if she can hold up physically while hustling a 3400lb stock car for 4 hours

Piquet Jr spun two cars and had trouble getting his car fired after a red flag. A disappointing start to his stock car career but alot of races to go.

Yeah. the 10 o'clock news was supposed to start right after the race, but by the time they finished coverage it was 10:20.

Just got home, had a great time.

The ARCA race was great, surprisingly great driving going on. Nelson was running a good race, before he started to fender up everyone around him. Danica, what a surprise, she was wheelin' that GoDaddy Chevy. I could not believe she held that slide, all I could see was smoke and then she drove out of it, everyone was going crazy cheering for her. She has a major amount of car control. She then proceeded to make smart moves back to the front. If someone would have worked with her, the high line could have gone somewhere and she may have done better. Good race, two scary wrecks, glad all are alright. And also, big thumbs up to the ARCA officials for not throwing out a caution at the end, glad they were paying attention, it was a good call IMO.

The Shootout.

It was not as exciting as other years, though I am glad everyone was minding their P's and Q's. Stewart was charging hard all night, and made his car squeeze through a hole that was not there at one point, and no one wrecked. Kurt Busch launched through the air in front of me, that was wild. I was sure he was about to be plowed in the door, which he was not, what a relief! Edwards was really holding it out there in the clean air, good for him, but I'd like to see more lead changes personally. I really thought it would be mayhem tonight, but it never really came. Except the inevitable G/W/C melee. Overall, a good race, nice and clean, from what I could see anyway, and congrats to K-Harv on the back to back streak. I've seen him do much better burnouts than that, I was a bit let down.

Exciting evening in Daytona. One of my picks Kyle Busch was just out of the top 3, and I still don't know where Stewart finished, my other pick. Dale Jr. never really made a move anywhere, so I'm dead in the water for fantasy points. Who picked Harvick?

Sadly no camera for this event, not that my pictures are ever that good anyway. But still. May head to the Truck race Friday, if I do I'll get pictures. I've also got a line on cheap Daytona 500 tickets, I just need to convince my girlfriend that the Daytona 500 is a good way to spend Valentines day

Edit:

My dad and I are confused. Wasn't the Shootout supposed to end under green, no matter what?

The announcers at the track said the same, but it didn't happen. What a bummer, but it would have been the same either way, I don't think anyone was worried about writing those cars off tonight. Like I said, they did a good job of keeping out of trouble. But yeah, what happened?

See, now I wish I waiting until after the practice before pulling the trigger on picks. But then again, Restrictor plate tracks are hard to pick for, because anything can happen. (April '09 at 'Dega)

Well having picked Edwards, Stewart and Gordon, two of my guys were up front for most of the night. So I guess I didn't do too bad. On to the 500!

Edit: or the Duals...

Wow, just wow. I haved gained quite abit more respect for Danica then I did before. She for the most part made the right decisions and moves, although clearly the drafting was hurting her the most as she never quite got the help. Well done to Danica:tup:

As for the Shootout, surprisingly wasn't as caution filled as I was expecting but like the restrictor plate races have been ending as of late, it ends with someone in the wall and even worse, under caution:indiff:

See, now I wish I waiting until after the practice before pulling the trigger on picks.

I made my picks last Sunday I believe, and I won. I know; h4xxor!!!!!!!

I saw most of the ARCA race. Danica Patrick really shown some character and some promise (not to say she doesn't show it in her races) at Daytona. She got roughed up a bit and still managed to finish 6th. It got real interesting late. Nobody was going to even touch Gerhart(?), but Danica even finished 6th on a Photo Finish. She's supposed to announce on Monday if she'll challenge the Nationwide series race at Daytona. I say to Danica, why not? You were in the Top 5 and COULD have finished in the Top 5 in your very first stock car race.

People are going to keep finding any reason to play down or put down Danica. But face facts- she could have finished 31st and two+ laps down. She hung in there against a good bunch of ARCA drivers. There was even a possibility that Danica would have done well... while another lady would steal the spotlight (the #15 car). Okay. She didn't win. But she still put up one hell of an effort. If first impressions are everything, she's going to be a damn good stock car racer when her stock car transition is complete.

Congratulations to Danica. SHOULD she challenge NASCAR Nationwide?

Yeah DP did very well although, someone tell me who allowed Milka Duno to fly under the ruddy radar.

Typical she was involved in the first crash

I'm still in awe from seeing her save the car, such amazing car control. Not bad for someone who's spent most of thier career in much lighter equipment. I wonder if her being the youngest open-wheel driver to come into stock cars kinda helps as she seemed like she learned very quickly.

Me too! That car was well beyond 90* sideways, very well held. Like you said, shes used to much lighter equipment.
