Sony Computer Entertainment Europe issues reminder to fastest GT Academy 2010 players to register for National Finals
Fastest 30 GT Academy 2010 Time Trial players for each territory must register
Competition ends at 23:59 (GMT) on Sunday, 24 January. Registration required by Tuesday, 26 January

With the GT Academy 2010 Time Trial set to close at midnight (GMT) on Sunday (24 January), Sony Computer Entertainment Europe has issued a reminder to the fastest 30 players from each territory that they must register their details should they wish to proceed to stage two of the competition, the National Finals. While only the 20 fastest players are due to contest the National Finals, the next ten players will be on standby should competitors be unavailable or not eligible to continue in the competition under the terms and conditions.

Players will have until midnight (GMT) on Tuesday (26 January) to register their details in order to secure their place in the National Finals events that take place at various dates from 3 until 19 February. The winners of the National Finals will then be invited to participate in the GT Academy itself at Silverstone Circuit (UK) from 25 February until 3 March.

The registration process is simple:

1. Establish that your time is in the top 30 of your country’s GT Academy Leader Board by checking at http://eu.gran-turismo.com/
2. Follow the link on the site to register your details.
3. In order to register, you will have to confirm your identity by entering your PlayStation®Network user ID and login details.
4. Provide your details and answer the questions online.
5. Registration must be completed by midnight (GMT) on Tuesday, 26 January.

“We are very keen to ensure that none of our super-fast Gran Turismo players misses their chance to go further in the competition,” explained Sony Computer Entertainment Europe’s brand manager for PlayStation®3, Mark Bowles. “The timing is so tight between the end of the competition and some of the National Final events that we have had to set a tight deadline for the leading players to register. The word is now out there, and so hopefully everyone will have an eye on the leader board when the Time Trial element of the competition closes on Sunday and will register straight away.”

Further details and instructions on how to register are available at http://eu.gran-turismo.com/ and the GT Academy Facebook page www.facebook.com/GTAcademy .

I have a trip from 11 to 18 in February, so maybe I will not be able to keep the first place of 2008 in Spain :(

(Probably I wouldn't be able even if I could go to the final )

I'd like to know where the bloody link is to register your details... i cannot for the life of me find it.

Can anyone point me in the right direction?

Just found out that the portuguese finals will be held on February 6

That's a Saturday, which is convenient :)

I would say the team putting on the national finals will travel to the nearest country after each event.. It makes sense that they travel the shortest distances possible between each event. So I guess Spain and Portugal will be within a day or 2 of each other, as will the UK and Ireland finals.

Dessy, I hope you are right. Those days I can go to the finals, as I say in my post đź‘Ť

Where are you getting all that info?!!!

The Top 30 from New Zealand were sent an email a couple of days ago giving brief details of the National Final. To be held somewhere in Auckland on Feb 3rd. Winner may need to stay on Feb 4th for 'media appointments'.
World Final at Silverstone from Feb 26th to Mar 3rd.

"........

hum.. i think its all countries together, no!?

I doubt it. There is a crew going around filming each event and I suspect there is just one that covers all the events rather than one for each country. I suppose it doesn't really matter too much though.

hum.. i think its all countries together, no!?

I think he means that some crew of people will be travelling across Europe with all the necessary equipment, etc., to set up the finals for Sony in each country. Just like a music concert :)
So Spain and Portugal would be done in sequence.

Bizarre.

hmm that is a worry. In NZ we get another mail on Monday that supplies details with how to register, or a form to fill out to declare your eligibility, something like that.
I'm sure you've checked your trash , or your spam catcher? Just in case.
I'd say wait until the other get 'another' email (on Monday maybe), and if you don't get one too, email the organisers.
BTW.. you've done some great times, I've had half an eye on your performance for a while :)
