Yeah, Wade and Lebron have enough ups to get up there with the biggest of 'em. I wish Dexter Pittman got his big ass into superstar mode so he could be our Shaq 2. It looks like all three of them are banged up pretty bad right now.

Is the trading window still open? Quick, go get Dirk Nowitzki and Blake Griffin! Call up Scotty Pippen or something!

Trade deadline's late February. I want to say 24th, or 26th, but probably 27th. Maybe.

The Clippers, and more particularly, Griffin, are just on fire as of late. I hope to see the day L.A.'s b-team beat the Lakers over the entire season.
The Raptors lost to Nyarlins (Hornets) in a low scoring game.*sigh* It could be pinned to Andrea being cold as ice, 4-17 field goals. Only having a total of 3 players available for subs can't help either, Mago was probably too tired to play right. DeRozan and Calderon weren't hitting many shots either. Next up, the Spurs.:indiff:

Yes, but personally, I calculate those into the health/injury.

If the Big-3's healthy, IMO, they are so good that size & lack of depth becomes completely irrelevant. Completely.

Except for playoff time. I look at like this Bosh is okay I think they would have done better putting money to better use elsewhere but that's just me. I feel like D.Wade and LBJ have kind of the same guy but they are finding ways to work together. I feel that it will take them at least a year playing together before they can accomplish anything. And your absolutely right if they are healthy those flaws won't be a problem but that's just in the regular season. Come playoff time D.Wade will bring it LBJ should most of the time but I'm not so sure about Bosh have to see with him.

I also posted about their Playoff chances, but I also am taking somewhat of an "wait & see" approach. Playoffs, superstar treatment usually fly out the window. I'm firmly believe that NBA has hidden agendas, and they often act on them. I have seen so many games that I'd bet my own life that officiating was predetermined to affect the outcome. With my beliefs, I would not at all be surprised if, "if" Heat needed help, Stern will make sure they at least get to the Finals.

If Heat don't get the help, teams like Boston will have decent chance at advancing past the Heat, as in my book, Celtics are of the same mold like the Championship Detroit('80's & '90's), Bulls, and the Spurs. Boston's just as physical as those teams, which is a HUGE part of the NBA Playoffs, and almost as good at executing clutch plays. Almost.

The NBA Tuesday Fan Night game is Hawks at Heat. A defensive meltdown late in Overtime led to the Atlanta Hawks to a 93-89. I was disappointed when I saw the Heat didn't see the Hawk driving to the basket. The Hawk player kicked the ball out to another Hawk player who cashed in a huge three-pointer. Also, LeBron James had terrible shot clock management as he tried to knock down a three-pointer from, I don't know... 29 feet away near the sideline. Didn't work. Heat's on a losing streak.

The only other game tonight was Bobcats at Bulls. D-Rose had a tough-luck shot trying to win it late. Bobcats squeak by with an 83-82 victory.

There will be an interesting game Wednesday night to shown on ESPN- Lakers at Mavericks. Both teams have been in somewhat of a funk. Have to see who can take care of business in Big D tomorrow night.

How do you guys like Blake Griffin? I think I'm starting to dislike him, it seems to me like he gets a high level of preferential treatment from the refs. This was first brought to my attention in the Clippers-Heat game. I remember Bosh getting a technical foul in a different game for staring down someone for like 3sec after making a dunk, and in the Heat-Clippers game Griffin was staring at Chalmers NON-STOP after they had a blue, every play Griffin made he would stare at Chalmers, as if mocking him. Technical foul? Oh no, never for Griffin. This was added to today after it was brought to my attention how many players get in fights with Griffin due to what they felt was missed calls, or an unecessarily physical move on Griffin's behalf. I hope this seemingly special treatment isn't just because he's a typical yankee-doodle American-potential fan favourite.

I just call it "NBA" basketball. ;)

I know the Blazer fans agrees with you. There was incident where he shoved our POINT GUARD(ie HE ISN'T VERY BIG), no call. 'Dre Miller(our point), he comes back down, freight trains down Griffin. I thought it was pretty funny. Griffin behaved rest of the game.

Anyway, Blazer fans were upset, because they suspended 'Dre for a game after review. He had current longest active streak for the games played, so he wasn't happy.

Edit: Nevermind, I'll post it.

Yeah, stuff like that, shoving a PG, makes me think he's a bit of a redneck as well, I hate rednecks, went to school with them, got no time for them.

Found the video.

I've done the same many times. When the guy I'm matched up with starts roughing me up, I usually drove to the basket on the next possession, basically just to knock him down. If you gonna dish it out, I'll make you take it back with interest. Always. :D

I just realized that there was no stoppage in play.

Edit: Could be a "make-up" non-call, too. I don't know how it is in international ball, but in the NBA, you sometimes encounter intentional make-up call, or non-call.

Yeah, but regardless of what the refs thought, the commentators didn't even notice Griffin getting hammered, they said nothing. I think that's funny.

Bro, didn't you see him take out Mario Chalmers and the refs didn't do diddly poo about it? He's kind of a smug asshole. Powerful as hell though.

That's the incident (or part of it I think) I referred to in my post, so yes I did see it, mate.;)

Picking on the little guy again. That was Bill Laimbeer style, too. Totally unnecessary. Too bad, I thought I liked Griffin.

P.S. Laimbeer comment might not make any sense to the younger fans. Sorry. :P

Rockets blew out the Knicks 104-89 tonight to get their third straight win. Up next for the Rockets is a back-to-back. An important game in Memphis on Friday at the Grizzlies (to avoid being dead last in the Southwest Division) is followed by a home game the next night against the Orlando Magic. Sure love for the Rockets to win BOTH games, but we really need to beat Memphis to help dig ourselves out of the Southwest Division hole we are in.

That's all for me here. Hope your teams are doing well!

Nice win by the Rockets! I was watching the ticker at the bottom of the screen during the Spurs / Raptors game while trying to refrain from throwing things at the TV.
My goodness between the Spurs turning the ball over and over and over in the first half to the refs calling EVERYthing against the home team, I was getting a bit upset. Lord I've never seen so many blatant charges being called blocking fouls. Counted at least 7 times.

Whatever, Spurs were up by 10 in the opening minutes to end up down by 11 at the half. :ouch: They come out with their patented shutdown 3rd quarter defense to regain the lead and keep it to take a 9 point win. I really thought this was going to be the game that the Spurs looked past and it started out that way, but they got focused in the 2nd half and took care of business. PJ and Pop go back a long ways so it shouldn't have surprised me that the Raptors would compete regardless of their roster problems.

Next up a back to back against the Knicks here in SA on Friday and then to NO and the Hornets on Saturday. (I really want to get back on the Knicks. They put it too us last time in NY).

Looks like the Mavs took out the Lakers so the Western Conference is alittle wild right now.

I see the Blazers/Miller (and Mills) are versing the Clippers/Griffin again tomorrow.:sly: It's on Australian TV too, so I can't wait to watch it.:) Oh, and Bogut was doing an auction for the Queensland flood appeal and online knobs tried trashing it. Bogut went off on Twitter about it apparently, good on him.👍

Guess who's going to that one tonight. I got offered the lower level seat tickets at work today, but without the parking & meal pass. I usually wouldn't go to a Clippers game, but after the Griffin bumping our boy Dre, and us talking about Griffin in this thread, I just had to be there to "boo".

Clips are red hot, Blazers lost another center to knee surgery, so I think the Clippers might win by a 5~10, tonight. We'll see. ;)

Edit: Wow, that was a sad attempt by the Clippers. They made LaMarcus Aldridge look like Tim Duncan in his prime, at least offensively. Refs were just letting them play tonight, meaning it was played along the lines of no-blood, no-foul. Clippers front line sort of faded away as the second half progressed. Griffin showed that he can be vulnerable to capable post up offense.

Overall, I'm just glad that I got free Chalupa tickets.... I mean that Blazer won. :P

I just finished watching the game which I recorded, Griffin had a very poor night offensively unable to overcome LA, and Mills didn't get enough playing time.:P The play by Fernandez in the last quarter was damn hilarious, the one where he lost it from bumping into his team mate, recovered the ball which was fumbled by the Clippers player, jumped over his other team mate on the ground and put it in.

The Rockets will be ready to rock in Graceland tonight to take on the Grizzlies in a key Southwest Division showdown. It's the game to avoid being in last place in the Division. Every game for my Rockets is basically a must-win at this point just to have any hope of cracking at least the top 8 in the Western Conference. We can't think of this as a trap game because tomorrow night, we got the Orlando Magic. Magic whooped our butts in Orlando earlier this year. I can hope we can either keep it close or even pull out a win.

Have a great weekend of NBA basketball!

Agreed. I thought winning that particular play was as critical as the game itself, I was really involved. As soon as Rudy hopped over that guy, made the lay-in, I was jumping up from my seat with my fist in the air.

Yeah, your crowd/you were really vocal which is what every NBA team needs, even the commentators made mention of it.:sly: Good work.:dopey:

We take pride in that. Actually though, last night was the quietest crowd I experienced in awhile. Normally, Blazer games in the Rose Garden(our arena) are as loud as most Playoff games.

I think the Raptors' season is over, we just lost by 40pts to Orlando, and there are far too many injuries. Raptors needed all their talent to get by, where some other teams can survive without one or two players.
With all this trade talk over Melo, I'm amazed Clippers aren't in it. Plenty of cap space, and a few rising stars to attract him to their team.

Rockets lead by as many as 12, Memphis didn't give up, and the Rockets get disgraced 115-110 in Graceland. I guess the 2010 Rockets are okay with mediocrity losing to the Grizzlies. Maybe we are as bad as our record indicates. Damn shame. Hope the Rockets don't fail at home against the Magic (which is likely) tomorrow night. We just got beat- plain and simple. Maybe the worst deal was a phantom foul that ended up getting Chuck Hayes with five fouls.

Semi-rant over. You can't fall on your faces too much longer in too many more games if you want to have ANY hope of making the playoffs now do you, Rockets?

Now I'm happy. Spurs take the Knicks 'back to life, back to reality' by keeping them to 38% shooting. MUCH better than the last time we played them in NY when they shot about 60%+. Spurs get by with a 101-92 win, pushing their record to 37-6 this year. Bench play was good again, but Duncan and Parker just put on a clinic from the field. They turned back the clock for sure tonight. No we go on the road against the Hornets tomorrow night. Boring ole' Spurs playing defense winning games.

Our record is mostly due to a favorable schedule which is why Pop's motto this year is 'do your work early'. Early in the game and early in the season. These wins are needed as the sched gets tougher toward the end of the season. So far so good.

So many NBA watchers has always labeled Spurs basketball "boring". To the trained eyes, it is the most exciting, fascinating, entertaining basketball. Just their ability to execute(both offensively & defensively) alone makes them a must watch, as far as I'm concerned.

I am heading to the US early march and just bought tickets to a Lakers vs Magic game (at the Staples center LA). I am quite excited as I have always been a NBA fan but everytime I have been in the US before it was off season so this is my first. :D
