NBA 2K12 has roster updates now, made the Knicks a lot harder to beat! My brother and I play as Miami, disappointed that Patty Mills has been deleted from the game while another Aussie, David Andersen, has been put in the free agents despite being in Europe longer than Mills has been in China.
I look forward to the Raptors opener against the Cavs, it'll be a shaky start to the season for us trying to revamp the way they play defence, and it'll be interesting to see how the Cavs rookies fare. I'm still keeping a close eye on the Bobcats' rookie Biyombo as well, dude's got INSANE hops, bought out his own Euroleague contract to play in the NBA now, and had a TWO handed block in a pre-season game on what was either going to be a dunk or layup.

Can you feel it? The season we never thought would happen thanks to a lengthy lockout... will finally happen later today! NBA is back in action! Five games to check out to ring in a new season of NBA basketball.

Hope you all have had a Merry Christmas. It will get even more merry once the NBA tips off proper. Good luck to your favorite team(s) and player(s) this season.

My boy D. Rose tearing it up so far. I can tell that he's been working on his shot all summer. :D

I tried to catch as much action as I could. I surely saw most of the Bulls at Lakers game as well as most of the first half of Celtics at Knicks. And yes- D. Rose is the truth for the Bulls. I'm glad the Thunder tamed the Orlando Magic, because my Rockets will play at the Magic on Monday Night. Of course, I won't be surprised if we start the 2011-2012 season with an 0-1 record after Monday night.

No more lockout. Go enjoy some NBA Basketball! The new season is here in earnest!

As predicted... we failed. Orlando won 105-94 in the Houston Rockets' season opener. My boys will return home on Thursday with our only back-to-back-to-back of the season. We're used to back-to-back championships in the mid-1990s. Sadly, we're talking back-to-back-to-back games. Our season starts pretty damned rough. This back-to-back-to-back includes the Spurs on Thursday, at Grizzlies on Friday, and then vs. the Hawks. Our next game after this stretch will be on January 3rd at the Lakers. Sheesh!

But, Rockets (predicted by me) fail to start the season. Better start winning games unless we want to be the Southwest Division doormat again...

Bulls are playing AWFULLY right now. I'm pretty sure that they have 9001 turnovers.

In other news, Kwame Brown LOL.

Raptors beat the Cavs at least, nice to get a win straight off the block when you're rebuilding the team strategy.

How about it- it's an NBA on TNT doubleheader! Here are the TNT games tonight:

* Celtics at Heat
* Jazz at Lakers

And then, there are other matches tonight, including:

* Hawks at Nets
* Timberwolves at Bucks
* Kings at Trail Blazers/Trailblazers

Enjoy your Tuesday night NBA hoops!

The Rockets' home opener is tonight, but it is also our back-to-back-to-back. How would you like THIS for a stretch of three games: vs. Spurs, at Grizzlies, and vs. Hawks? The Rockets are far from being any consistent contender. However, great performances in this stretch will surely be a boost for Red Rising.

The NBA on TNT matches includes this doubleheader:
* Mavericks at Thunder
* Knicks at Lakers

Enjoy some NBA hoops!

It took two tries, but we won our first game. Kevin McHale picked up his first win as Rockets coach with a 105-85 rout of the San Antonio Spurs. This is the first game in our back-to-back-to-back. Up next- at the Grizzlies tomorrow night followed by a home game against the Hawks on New Year's Eve.

How are your team(s) doing, if you care to share?

[UPDATE] Did you see the finish between the Mavericks at the Thunder? OKC got fouled and bricked two free-throws. DAL could have forced Overtime but went for a three- and hit it. It was 102-101, Dallas. After a timeout, the Thunder won 104-102 thanks to a Kevin Durant three-point bomb with 1.4 seconds left in the game. It was an exciting finish! DAL is now 0-3 to start the 2011-2012 season. I'm happy as a Rockets fan- Spurs lose, Mavericks lose, Rockets win. Me happy boy! :)

Good thing Miami won...

DOINK!

That was rediculous :lol:, the refs are even more rusty than the players after the off season after missing THAT one...... then again refs are always terrible.:ill:

Manu Ginobli of the San Antonio Spurs got fouled at Minnesota when the Spurs took on the Timberwolves. His hand got broken, and I hope he gets well soon. His injury timetable is not known at this point. It would be my intent as a Rockets fan for the Spurs to fall apart like a poorly-built car, but Manu is a huge deal for the Spurs. San Antonio lost 106-96 in Minneapolis last night.

My Rockets will be on a stretch of five back-to-backs. We're on a three-game road trip starting tonight. We get the Lakers tonight to start things off. Tomorrow night, at Clippers. Friday night, we're at the Oklahoma City Thunder. The Rockets return to the friendly confines of Toyota Center on Saturday as we host the Oklahoma City Thunder.

It looks like the first NBA Fan Night Games of the Week will be the matchup of the Atlanta Hawks at the Chicago Bulls. This game is followed by the Rockets at Lakers match. Hawks/Bulls sounds like an Eastern Conference Semifinal or Final match.

Enjoy NBA action. It's Ball Night!

As if taking on the Lakers in L.A. is bad enough, up next for Red Rising is the Clippers. I figure the Clippers to be just as tough a test as our match last night against the Lakers. Enjoy NBA ball!

I know we were playing an improved Clippers squad, but this was damned deplorable. 117-89 was how badly we failed at Staples Center. Losing to the Lakers is understandable, but losing to the Clippers by this much is motherf:censored:ing sad. At the Thunder this Friday night followed by at home vs. the same Thunder on Saturday.

Improved Clippers, but the Rockets could have done a hell of a lot better. It's still early, but I'm sick of seeing the Rockets play dead like this so far this season.

I wouldn't feel so bad on it, the Clippers are one of the most talented teams around right now, beating them for any team will be tough, even tougher when they get over the new team jitters and settle in to a rhythm.
Luckily for me, the Raptors have won 2 straight and have 4 somewhat easier teams ahead. I can't expect wins in all of them, but here's hoping. Bargnani and DeRozan have been on fire, real nice to watch, and Linas Kleiza is almost ready to play again.

101-94, my Rockets are now 2-5. Either God (or some other higher power) hates the Rockets, or we're just playing like crap. It's notwithstanding that we're starting off with playoff teams and a bad amount of early home games. A real bright spot is rookie Chandler Parsons out of Florida for the Rockets. I couldn't watch any longer at certain points.

Long season. I almost hope the Texans can go far into the playoffs so I can watch them rather than see my Rockets become the NBA version of the 2011 Houston Astros. The failing HAS to stop at some point!

Miami will win the title this year. Know why? Lack of Mike Bibby.

Since when has Mario Chalmers ever played that good.

I watched the box game between the Heat and Hawks, the heat deserved the win after forcing it into overtime.

Stavingo
Since when has Mario Chalmers ever played that good.

Actually, he was one of the names that stepped up in last year's playoffs, but for the most part, he'll have one good game surrounded by 5-6 average ones. That was the case even before Bosh and James came to town. Nice to have someone on the bench who can step up...

Rockets played much better tonight than last night, but damn it to Hell... they literally threw away a chance to win. We conceded 98-95 after we threw the ball out of bounds to a Rocket who wasn't even noticing the pass. So we're 2-6 and are borderline nearing being worse than the Wizards. Go Texans... especially if the Rockets and Astros continually fail. We may need to bring back the 1994 or 1995 Houston Rockets if the 2012-2012 Rockets are content with being failures almost every night so far this season...

In news of teams better than the 2011 Rockets, the Hawks tamed the Bulls for a win. Congrats to Atlanta on a big win over the Chicago Bulls.

Don't worry John, Raptors are hardly fairing any better.

Glad the Bulls pulled out a rebound win against Detroit tonight. Sure, they're not a great team, but it just feels good to blow a team out and get our starters rested for a back-to-back-to-back.

Scalabrine even hit a fadeaway at the end! :sly:

One of the Thunder was lost for the season with a huge injury. Sad news for OKC considering how they won every game in their back-to-back-to-back. I would not be surprised if OKC makes it to at least the Western Conference Finals.

Mario Chalmers doesn't have the curse of Mike Bibby. That guy is bad juju.

1 in a row! Rockets and Bobcats both had losing streaks heading into this game, and it was the Rockets who ended theirs. It was an 82-70 victory for the Rockets. Most of the heavy lifting was done by one Chandler Parsons. The rookie out of Florida was just ballin' tonight! Our happiness will be short-lived because up next... at San Antonio tomorrow night. Still, we'll take the win!

Congratulations to any other teams that won tonight and tough luck for all losers (including Charlotte).

Kobe Bryant got his 108th 40+ point career game. Michael Jordan and Wilt Chamberlain have MANY more 40+ point games in their career. Kobe HAS to be a first ballot Hall of Famer once his career is over.
