Pfffft... It's Trail Gangstas. Everybody knows that!

Blazer fans, not only are we used to getting kicked while we are down, they usually kick us in the jimmi jammer while we are down. We. Are. Used to it. :dopey:

I can't believe the Raptors scrapped out that W today, the refereeing is becoming so bad for Toronto that it ends up being all the commentators are talking about, you'd think at some point the league would do something about it.

After a huge 2nd Quarter, where the Rockets led by about as many as 19 points at the half, we managed to rebound from Monday night's loss to the Heat by winning 100-96 over New Orleans. Big nasty beard (James Harden) cashed in 30 points and made 3 rebounds, 4 assists, and even got himself a block. Rockets end this homestand with a 4-4 overall record. Up next is a three-game road trip starting at Portland on Friday night. The trip then goes into at Lakers and at Jazz. New Orleans falls to 3-3. I wonder what uniforms and nickname they will go by after this season. I remember an episode of ESPN's "Pardon the Interruption" where Tony Kornheiser noted when the New Orleans team was known as the New Orleans Jazz way back when. Maybe some old school cool or something more indigenous to New Orleans would be cool.

Anyhow, here's what else has happened up to this post:

* Charlotte's Bobcats tamed the Minnesota Timberwolves 89-87 in Minneapolis.

* The Milwaukee Bucks were money in taking down the Indiana Pacers 99-85 in Milwaukee.

* It was 98-93 in Boston as the Celtics defended home turf well against the visiting Utah Jazz.

* The Detroit Pistons were one of two winless teams so far this season. Well, Detroit went into Philadelphia and gave a good ass-whooping to the 76ers. How does a 94-76 thrashing sound in trying to get your first win on the season? Detroit now 1-7 with this victory.

* Oklahoma City fell by 10 at home as the Memphis Grizzlies won 107-97.

Congratulations to all other winners of other games up to and beyond the time of this post.

Hey Chicago I know you got great defense and all, but sometimes you have to score a couple buckets to keep the other team honest.

God this team needs Rose back.

Is it just me, or just about every team looks like they are lacking in certain department, or dysfunctional altogether this year? I think the Knicks are undefeated, but you know they will fall apart before all-star break. Speaking of "break", Rasheed will break before the year's over. The dude is my age. He is a dinosaur.

Bulls just squandered a 16 point lead and now in overtime.

They deserve to lose with that type of crap 4th quarter performance.

Edit: Looks like the Bulls forgot they had to finish to game, and put it away in the OT.

I assure you, Thibs will be roasting his players over a spit in his hotel room.

Solid performance by the hornets but they shouldn't have blown out to a 19 point deficit.

In the meantime Villain must be happy as his Clippers are up 11 points against the heat in the 3rd quarter.

The Knicks will fall apart when Amar'e returns & him and Carmelo run into chemistry issues. Plus, they're only 5 games in whilst everyone else is is 7-8.
What's scary is that Memphis who is 6-1 is actually on a 6 game winning streak.

Also saw that Miami lost tonight to the Clippers, & thought they may be in trouble as well. But, then I looked up the standings & they're only at 2 losses, so I guess they've just been having tough games.

Oklahoma also seemingly running into issues as well. This could shape up to be an interesting season with a few teams coming up as real contenders.

It's early yet, but I still say it's gonna be Miami in June, with the Lakers still being the wild card. ;)
Imagine if Phil Jackson becomes the coach of the Clippers.

Things would get really awkward in California.
And why not, really. No one knows how Del Negro kept his job, and the Zen Master's obviously pretty sore at LAL. If Clippers wants to overtake the Lakers as the true contender, I think it will take a coaching change.

Tonight's games:

* New York Knicks at San Antonio Spurs
* Boston Celtics at Brooklyn Nets (NBA on TNT)
* Miami Heat at Denver Nuggets (NBA on TNT)

Thursday BALL NIGHT! Enjoy your NBA hoops. Let me do something I'm poor at- making predictions. NYK's unbeaten streak will come to a screeching halt tonight. Unless SA sleepwalks or just doesn't show up, I just don't see the Knicks escaping San Antonio still unbeaten.

The Clippers look great so far but they haven't really been tested. The perimeter D has gotten better in the last few games. It was really something to watch that Ray Allen versus Jamal Crawford matchup - even more once Crawsover took over.

In the meantime Villain must be happy as his Clippers are up 11 points against the heat in the 3rd quarter.

Very happy, but it doesn't mean as much as some might want... The Clippers have now won four in a row against the Heat at Staples.

I don't mean to hate on the Clippers, as I held this opinion before Crawford was a Clipper, or even before he was a Blazer for that matter, but I think Crawford is overrated in that he is another one of those regular season overachievers. He will help teams through some meaningless games, but once the game is a must win(say Playoffs), he sucks, or when he does play well, it's when his team has no chance at the game anyway.

One x-factor I do see is Chris Paul. I am a believer in Paul*cough*should've been a Laker*cough*, so I do believe that he could possibly make Crawford relevant in big games. But I doubt it. :P

Don't forget about Chauncey Billups. He'll be back soon enough. Grant Hill should be making his Clipper debut sooner than later as well.

VDN has all season to figure these rotations out before the playoffs. The starters are barely cracking 30 minutes a game right now - which is good because durability seems to be a potential issue for pretty much everyone on the roster. Keeping everyone healthy, fresh, and happy is the issue right now.

What's really going to be interesting is the different guard combinations between Paul, Crawford, Bledsoe, and Billups (meh... and Willie Green who VDN can't seem to get enough of). There's a lot of mixing and matching that can be done with that group and different units for different situations.

Boy, do I feel like crap... Knicks won 104-100 (I think) at San Antonio on Thursday night. They are at Memphis next as part of a back-to-back. 7-0 for NYK? We'll see...

A Portland, Los Angeles Lakers, and Utah road trip awaits my Rockets. That trip starts tonight in the City of Roses. I'm sure my Rockets will be treated to some Pacific Northwest hospitality- NBA style.

Enjoy this weekend's games!

The Knicks are playing out of their minds for the folk who lost everything in the Hurricane.

That said, their first loss should be coming up soon. God New Yorkers in my school want me to think that the Knicks are the greatest thing since the Magna Carta.👎

I just bring up Jordan because...Well he's Jordan. What's more to say?:sly:

He's the Bulls Fans' nuclear weapon in hating.👍👍

And I particularly chuckle when Miami Heat fans like me to believe this Heat team can beat the '96 Bulls.

I don't care who you are, you just do not dominate Scottie Pippen in his prime. It's just not possible. My all-time top-3 favorite player.

My list, all-time top-3:

1 - Rod Strickland

3 - Scottie Pippen, Arvydas Sabonis(tie)

In his prime, Sabonis comes closest to being better than Olajuwon. Olajuwon probably would win that battle, but not by much.

I realized something (yes, I know my Rockets are playing at Portland right now). I learned on ESPN that the Knicks never had a better start since the 1993-1994 season. Who won the championship in the 1993-1994 season? A team called... the Houston Rockets! And who did we beat? The New York Knicks... in seven games, I believe. This was back in The Summit days here in H-Town, which is now Lakewood Church and also used to be the Compaq Center.

I'd love for my Rockets to return to being relevant. A third NBA championship would be nice, Houston...

Fail for the Rockets. We fell to 4-5 after losing 119-117 in Overtime. The road trip not off to a great start. At the Lakers next. Happy now, Portland?

Memphis gave the Knicks their first taste of defeat. It was a 105-95 win for Memphis at home over the visiting New York Knicks.
