Enjoy your "Thanksgiving Eve" hoops, GTPlanet!

Los Angeles Clippers at Oklahoma City Thunder among many games going on tonight. My Rockets will host the Chicago Bulls after my Rockets failed every game on their recent road trip. I think the Rockets will get to enjoy their new huge scoreboard more as 9 of 11 Rockets games will be at Toyota Center.

By the way, I saw a little of the Nets at Lakers game last night. That Brook Lopez guy? He's pretty good. I'd sure love to see a Nets/Clippers matchup just to see Brook Lopez against Blake Griffin.

Brook Lopez plays at the 5 so if the Nets played the Clips he'd be matched up against Jordan

The boys from the Windy City came down to H-Town. We were victorious to the tune of a 93-89 win. Former Bull, O. Asik did very well against his former team. As I learned, we'll be hosted by the Bulls on Christmas. Chicago will likely be thinking revenge to give my Rockets as a Christmas present. One tough East team was defeated by the Rockets. Friday night, we're hosting another tough East team- Jeremy Lin's former team- the New York Knicks. Sure love to see the Rockets take down the Knicks!

Elsewhere...

* The big story I've heard from tonight's action is that Kevin Love came into a game (unbeknowngst to many) for the Timberwolves and had some crazy stats. He hung 34 points on Denver and got 14 rebounds. However, the T-Wolves lost 101-94 in Minneapolis to Denver.

* The Washington Wizards were looking for their first win as they headed down to the ATL. The Hawks did them no favors as they won 101-100 in Overtime over Washington.

* Oklahoma City brought thunder and lighting to surpass the Los Angeles Clippers. However, it took Overtime to complete the job. 117-111 was the final in OKC.

* The Hornets swarmed into Indianapolis thinking win. Fourty-eight minutes wasn't enough, so bring on Overtime. Pacers ended up winning 115-107 in Overtime.

* All these damn Overtime games! Milwaukee could take 48 minutes of heat in Miami, but couldn't take an extra five minutes of heat as the Miami Heat took out Milwaukee 113-106 in Overtime.

* Orlando didn't need Overtime to slap around Detroit 90-74 in Orlando.

* In Cleveland, it was 92-83 as the Philadelphia 76ers couldn't stop the Cavaliers.

* Black and silver trumped the boys in green with a 112-100 victory. San Antonio knocked off Boston in Boston.

* Nobody's laughing at Charlotte this season as the Bobcats won a close 98-97 battle in Charlotte against the visiting Raptors of Toronto.

Congratulations to all other winners at and after this post.

Nope, they're laughing at Washington now. 0-9.

Dallas hands NY their 2nd loss of the season, but just barely. Much needed win for us.

Disappointing start to the season for us Raptors fans (I know, nothing out of the ordinary), but in a week we should have came back to be 6-7 we're now sitting on 3-9. They're playing like winners until either the refs get out of hand or they just fail in crunch time. The refs are really bad, but damn they still need to start winning some games.

You guys forgot my Blazers. They got absolutely blown out by the Phoenix Suns. :dunce:

How are the prospects of the 2013 NBA Draft?

The unfortunate thing is that a .500 Chicago will get a rather mediocre draft pick.
Do you really think the Chicago's gonna stay down? I guess anything's possible, especially with injuries and stuff like that, but you guys already have most of the key pieces. You have big anchor(not in a good way) like Boozer dragging you down. Just solution to that problem alone could make the Bulls a successful team again. No, not a contender, but you already know how I feel about the Miami situation(ie god mode lol).

Besides, when Rose comes back, it's a whole new ball game again for you guys. Kinda like with us, when Roy & Oden comes back...... never mind.

Again- a LONG way to go. But that's how everything is so far. You can make up the playoff races if they began today.

Oh, god, I feel terrible. :indiff:

He's a good kid. It's easy for us to say walk away, but he's a competitor. When he was healthy, he was one of the finest shooting guard I ever saw play.

I'm so sorry, Brandon. It sure does sound like the time to walk away. :(

P.S. I was at the second to last game he played as a Blazer in Portland. It was 2011 Playoff game against Dallas. He willed the Blazers through something like 20+ points deficit late in the game. Rose Garden is typically considered one of the loudest arena in the NBA, and even I'd never experienced that loud of cheer before. It was amazing.
Apparently, it's level III degenerative arthritis. And from what I've read, at level IV, it requires knee replacement surgery.

There's no way you can come back into the NBA when you're that close to having your knee replaced altogether. Everyone knows he desperately wants to come back & play, but even if he does, one small injury on the court & he'll be back in the ER. He's already said this surgery is because he had his knee banged into by another player last season, not because of his medical history, but let's be real.

He says he wants peace within', but you can only go so far in a sport that's hell on the one part you've had operated on 7 times now. :indiff:

Well I'll be, the NBA made a statement today acknowledging the refs missed a call that would have put Bargnani to the line for 2 when the Raptors were down by 1 with 1sec left in the game, almost assuring at least an overtime since El Mago is an excellent free throw shooter. Doesn't matter though, what's done is done, I hope the ref was reprimanded.

No way, video or it didn't happen

They're not going to do anything except acknowledge it was a mistake on the refs part. There have always been cases like that from the missed call to incorrect time left in the game. But, since the game can't be restarted, they leave it be & "apologize".

He was told that he should stop playing, before the Blazers amnestied his contract. According to the report then, he was told by the doctor that if he kept playing, he might have hard time even just walking later in his life.

It's a bummer, but I also think he should call it quits. It does suck, because he's not a wannabe, and he's a real competitor, but you have to look at the flip side. He's made money, and he's going out as a very well respected shooting guard. Bummer.

Up next for the Rockets is Jeremy Lin's former team- the New York Knicks. The Big Apple meets America's Space City. The Rockets will need to step their game up to try to ice the Knicks tonight. Hope you all enjoy your NBA hoops tonight!

Just got back from Black Friday shopping down at sawgrass mills in Ft Laudardale. Got some sick d rose shirts from Adidas.👍

P.S. I bought Black Ops II t-shirt on this Black Friday. I don't even have the game.

That's for sure!

A lot of Timberwolves fans are pissed they spent so much on such a risky player. He's set for $10.4 million for the next 2 years.

You win some, lose some. They still got plenty of talent. They tried to strong arm Nic Batum away from us, so good for them in that sense. :dopey:

It must have been dirt cheap. I was thinking of picking up 2K13 but they were sold out at both Gamestops at the mall.

Btw I noticed a lot of Bulls fans down in South Florida.:)

Yeah, of Scottie & MJ.

I don't know how much the game was going for, but the shirt was $8. :P Ended up getting the MW3, just so I can finish the campaign(retired from the online).

I get all my sports shirts for $2 or $3 at Marshalls, Target, and Kohls and stuff. Black friday is an illusion.

Yeah, not everybody get to buy giant size clothes on clearance you know!

When I used to play ball, I remember seeing gigantic Nikes(shoes) going for cheap! Did not happen often with my size 10.

Hey man, its not everyday you can get Adidas team gear for around $15-20. They tend to be overpriced.

The shirts I got were $15, original was $30.

Where the bloody hell was this offense on our last road trip? We overrated the Knicks with a 131-103 ass beating. Almost as if the 1993-1994 Houston Rockets were infused with the 2012-2013 Houston Rockets and put on a serious whipping. Of course, those Rockets beat WHO for the championship that season? The Knicks in seven games. We hung 72 on the Knicks in the first half, and Chandler Parsons accounted for 31 points.

Our next opponent is home against Toronto on Tuesday. So this will be a Paulie/JohnBM01 grudge match where a few former Rockets will play at Toyota Center... only (obviously) not wearing Rockets red. We'll see what happens...

You'll win John, the Raptors can't even finish against the Pistons, losing by 1 today. I think it's coming down to a lack of interior D at the moment, but regardless the Raptors are a bottom feeding team right now.
