Yep, Toronto never stood a chance against OKC. At least the Lakers are now 3 games below 0.500.

Remember when the Lakers passed on Phil Jackson and went with D'Antoni?

Good times.

And now they wonder why their defense is turrible.

Apparently they are one of three teams that regularly give up 100 points to opponents. That's just disgusting.

Edit: Correction, that's just D'Antoni.

How about some Monday night NBA action? I know there's a big college football game on tonight, but if you prefer the NBA, these seven games will get you going:

* Oklahoma City Thunder at Washington Wizards
* Boston Celtics at New York Knicks
* San Antonio Spurs at New Orleans Hornets
* Cleveland Cavaliers at Chicago Bulls
* Dallas Mavericks at Utah Jazz
* Memphis Grizzlies at Sacramento Kings
* Orlando Magic at Portland Trail Blazers (that has to be a long trip!)

Enjoy another NBA 'ball night.

This week's NBA Fan Night game is the Lakers at the Rockets. The Lakers will have a stretch coming up at my Rockets tonight, at the Spurs tomorrow night, and hosting Oklahoma City back at home. My Rockets have this pathetic record against Western Conference teams so far this season: 1-9. The Lakers will have some of their players unavailable for this game. So, we'll see what happens as my Rockets will try to keep running strong.

Enjoy your NBA hoops tonight. Also, what do you make of the Celtics/Knicks last night involving beef between Kevin Garnett and Carmelo Anthony?

After trailing by as many as 14 points, we took care of business at home over the Lakers. The red boys got themselves a 125-112 victory over the purple and gold. The Lakers continue to freefall. The Rockets now will have to make ready to take on the New Orleans Hornets tomorrow night in New Orleans.

Four other games were played tonight. Here's how they went...

* Philadelphia's home court didn't mean anything as they covered in black and white- a 109-89 beating doled out by the Brooklyn Nets.

* They met in a series in the playoffs last season; but this time, the Indiana Pacers came through with an 87-77 victory over the visiting Miami Heat in Indianapolis.

* Midwestern hospitality is what Milwaukee gave Phoenix, and this hospitality was a 108-99 beating the Bucks gave the Phoenix Suns.

* The Target Center in Minneapolis saw their Minnesota Timberwolves down the Atlanta Hawks 108-103. Pekovic (MIN) accounted for 25 points and 18 rebounds. Pekovic is a beast on the boards.

That's all.

Nice work Houston, handing the Lakers another loss.
Hopefully Philly's effort today carries over to tomorrow when Toronto take them on, plus the Raptors have had a nice break and they'll be on a back to back.

Seattle may be getting a new NBA team as the Sacramento Kings will be moving to the Northwest for next year (2013-2014) if the deal falls through in Sacramento.

You know, I think Seattle will eventually get a team again after the Supersonics left for Oklahoma City and became the Thunder. It was not too long ago that Sacramento got some stability with the new deal to stay in Sacramento. So... Seattle Kings, maybe? Sure want to see what becomes of this, if anything...

Stavingo's boys have plenty of reason to by happy as my boys f:censored:ed up big time, especially in the 4th Quarter. A big lead for the Rockets became a big lead for the Hornets. It was more like a seesaw in terms of momentum. You can't win 'em all. The Rockets failed 88-79 in New Orleans. Five-game winning streak over. We've only extended our poor record against Southwest Division opponents and lost 12 straight road games against Southwest Division opponents. The Rockets are a great team, but this s:censored: has to improve. It sucks when you can't win a lot of games in your own division. Not so much a punch to the gut loss, but basically New Orleans winning on a holeshot (to use drag racing expressions) in the final quarter. This is only the second time the Hornets have won a game trailing heading into the 4th Quarter.

The road trip continues with back-to-back #3 of 5 on Friday night. Rockets need some soul searching after letting the Hornets come back in the fourth quarter. Gloat time, Hornets fans...

Or they can buy the rights to the Supersonics name from the Thunder.
Seattle retained the Supersonic name & history. Considering the hostile takeover(according to me. it wasn't technically.), that was the least Bennett could do for the Sonic fans.

Sonics & their fans suck, but I'm not gonna lie, as a fellow fan of a small market team, it was hard watching another team get screwed(keep it PG!) by Stern & his ...... buddy(PG).

Three NBA games tonight, two of them on the NBA on TNT, and one not on TNT. Here are tonight's matches:

* New York Knicks at Indiana Pacers (NBA on TNT)
* Dallas Mavericks at Sacramento Kings
* Miami Heat at Portland Trail Blazers (NBA on TNT)

Enjoy some NBA Thursday night basketball tonight.

Back-to-back 3 of 5 for my Rockets is a trip to Boston tonight followed by a trip to Philadelphia. So I'm sure if I were in Boston, I'd be hearing the commentary of Tommy Heinsohn if the Celtics have a bad night. Both Boston and Philly are tough places to play at. Hoping for the best for my boys. I also hope for the best for your team(s). Play hard and enjoy some NBA 'ball!

...meanwhile, I found out we squandered on multiple opportunities to fail in Boston 103-91. Philadelphia isn't usually a happy place to play at for my Rockets, so I wouldn't be surprised if we f:cesored: this one up tomorrow night in Philly.

I got so upset at our latest fail that I misspelled "meanwhile." Crap happens...

Winless road trip. Our latest fail was a 107-100 job in Philadelphia. PHI's five-game losing streak was snapped at our expense, and our losing streak is now extended to three. I just hope we can return home and get a win when the Los Angeles Clippers come to H-Town on my birthday (this Tuesday).

Congratulations to all other winners from tonight's games up to and beyond the time of this post.

I can't believe the Mavs held off the Grizzlies & by 20 points. Then again, I find it strange how we can always hold our own against the strongest teams, we just have a hard time finishing the job.

Very surprised the Clippers fell to Orlando. I admit, I thought they had that one in the bag.

Look at their big-3 though. 6 & 4 for Z-Bo, I think 8 & 6 for Gasol, Gay had 12 points. Maybe Zach's still not 100%? Not taking anything away from the Mavs. Griz aren't as hot as when they started out the season, but they are formidable.

I wonder if us playing at home gave us a little bit of morale. I remember reading an article a couple days ago saying that during the season so far, nearly all the teams have actually been doing well at winning home games than in the past few seasons.

I remember reading something along those lines in a high school psych class. Some sort of study that looked at NFL, MLB, NBA, and NHL games, and home teams won close to 65% of the time.

Not only that, but it's been a trend in the last week or so that the so called "lesser" teams have been winning games against high end opponents.

We beat Miami, Minnesota & Memphis. They were missing Battier, Love & Z-Bo.

Sucks for them. :sly:

Got to love Clutch (Houston's mascot; Post #684). :) I'm not loving this losing streak we're having, so I hope the Rockets can get it together starting on Tuesday- back-to-back #4 of 5 for my boys.

At 2:00 PM or so Eastern this Thursday, the Detroit Pistons and New York Knicks will be playing against each other in jolly old London. Closer to home, I found out that Manu Ginobli will be on the shelf for the next two weeks after suffering (I believe) a left hamstring injury in the Spurs' game vs. the Minnesota Timberwolves yesterday.

My Rockets won't play tonight, but they will be going against the Clippers tomorrow night here in Houston. Good luck to all of your team(s) if they play tonight.
