Good for the Suns, but that is a weird trade. I'd love to know what Washington is planning(Nene at 4?), but I don't really care.

Oh...

What happened to Miami?

What do you mean? Are you referring to the game today against the Nets in which James and Bosh didn't play and the rest of the team seemed to be very nonchalant about it? Still, could be worse, the Raptors-Bucks game today was called off when they realised the court was too slippery.:banghead: Gotta love pre-season!

That feel, how does a court even get to that point

I'm not sure how these floors are maintained, but I've played on plenty like that, generally in some small elementary school gyms. Court in this one middle school gym, it was a hit & miss. One week we are slipping & sliding, next week perfectly fine. :dunce:

I remember the Orlando Magic were supposed to have a game last season or two seasons ago at an ice hockey stadium, and it was cancelled because of water or something. This may sound like weak sauce stuff, but player safety is always paramount. I even had my doubts about this kind of thing like when the NCAA basketball had games on those Naval carriers. Still sad stuff.

As for my Rockets, we're ready to start the upcoming season after two big wins at San Antonio and Memphis to close out the Preseason. Our season begins at home against Charlotte on October 30th. The Red Rowdies and company will surely hope the Rockets can really emerge. The Houston Rockets' new slogan is "A New Age." I'm just hoping my boys can play a bit more loose and consistent. They got to hold onto the rock better and not turn it over so much. Other than that... I'll surely follow my boys this season on radio and elsewhere.

I imagine they have to wax the courts regularly to keep them in good nick, and occasionally they use too much wax by accident?
Can't wait for the regular season to finally start now, no more talk or mind games, it's time to put leather to hardwood and see who comes out on top.

BALL NIGHT! Say it loud and proud, GTPlanet- BALL NIGHT!

That's right. The NBA is all dressed up and ready to go (as Kevin Harlan would say) for another season of NBA basketball. Tonight begins the games that matter. Every game from here on out mean something, excluding the All-Star events. So begins the 82-game grind where only the top percentile in each conference make the Playoffs. All 30 teams have the same dream and an equal opportunity of becoming champions of the 2013-2014 season. Even the sorriest of teams can emerge and become something special. Only 16 teams will make the Playoffs. Then begins the elimination until we are down to the respective champions of each conference, who will then play for the O'Brien Trophy and become NBA (not "world") Champions.

Here are some truths. Teams will win/lose games at the buzzer or with little time left, and they will win/lose lopsided games. Teams will make and brick shots from the free throw line. Teams will give and take all kind of fouls. Sometimes, you'll have those hard fouls that get seen as Technical or Flagrant. Some players will claim all-ball when called for a foul. Coaches will complain to the refs about bad calls. Players will get posterized by spectacular dunks. Players will make and brick layups. Three-pointers will be made, missed, and even be air balls. No matter what... basketball is a beautiful and sometimes frenzied game.

GTPlanet, your nights just got interesting again with the new season of NBA basketball. Between now and Feb 13 is all regular season basketball. Feb. 14-17 is the All-Star Break. Feb. 18 through about Apr. 16 concludes the regular season.

Three games tonight will tip off the new season, and they are as follows:

* Orlando Magic at Indiana Pacers
* Chicago Bulls at Miami Heat (sumbrownkid vs. Omnis special!)
* Los Angeles Clippers at Los Angeles Lakers

The CHI at MIA and LAC at LAL games are part of tonight's NBA on TNT coverage.

Good luck to all of your teams this season. No matter who your favorite team(s) or player(s) is/are, get out there and have a memorable season.

Derrick Rose is feeling like he can take on the world, this Bulls team feels like it wants to take Miami's lunch and then eat it front of them.

This season can be something special.

The Bulls are going to be very tough to beat this year with Rose back. However, they are still going to need someone else to step up on the offensive side. Rose cannot continue carrying that side by himself like he has in the past.

I'm not sure that I can buy that argument. Ofcourse another player taking some offensive duties from Rose will be helpful, but at the same time that ECF with Rose the Bulls only lost by a few points in each game of the series. This team is starting to look much better on offense, and hopefully Jimmy Butler continues his improvement as well as Snell coming on his own down the line. That said, people say the Bulls should pursue the free agency or trades, but at the same time this team went number one seed for two seasons with an offense, though not as potent as Miami's, that got the job done. Exactly who can the Bulls get to get over this supposed hump? Durant? He's staying put in OKC as far as I'm concerned.

Heat bench looks fantabulous.

Indiana Pacers gonna make Spo's hair fall out though. God damn they look scary.

The season isn't over just because your team lost. This isn't the NFL- you don't feel like you have to win every game to feel good. YOUR TEAM(S) WILL LOSE! You're going to lose; just don't lose often and habitually.

* Indiana's off to a good start by handling Orlando at home 97-87.

* Miami had a slow start as Chicago went off. Once Miami was in Beast Mode, Chicago could only cut the deficit so far, as Miami got the win.

* It was 116-103 in the Battle for Los Angeles. The Lakers pulled this massacre off. Yes- that purple and gold team that didn't have Kobe Bryant in the lineup- clipped the Clip Joint last night. Our own Villain was likely none too happy seeing his Clippers get taken out like this.

Just about everybody else starts their season tonight- including (to quote Houston Rockets radio) "my team, your team, AMERICA'S team"- the Houston Rockets. Here are the first five games for my hometown team and beloved team:

Oct. 30: Charlotte
Nov. 1: Dallas
Nov. 2: at Utah
Nov. 4: at Los Angeles Clippers
Nov. 5: at Portland

Wow... two back-to-back back-to-backs starting Friday. Anyhow... good luck to all of your teams this season.

Good news for Thunder fans. It is looking like Russell Westbrook will only miss two weeks of the season, instead of the original estimated four to six.

Alright Rose, you saw what the Heat brought. Looks like Thibs will be working with you overtime now to get you back to track.

And Carlos Boozer was the definite hero for the Bulls this game.

The Rockets are 23-23 all-time in Season Openers. So how did this Season Opener start? Quite well. It was 96-83 in favor of the Rockets here in Houston. Dwight Howard was insane rebounding! D12 cashed in 17 points and 26 rebounds. James Harden had 21 points. The game was mostly slow until the Rockets (to use drag racing expressions) won on a holeshot. They just pulled away to get the 13-point win. Patrick Beverley started over Jeremy Lin. Jeremy Lin did pretty well being that sixth man.

So the Rockets at 1-0. We started the season very well. Only nit-pick would be that we probably should have hammered Charlotte early and run away with the win. Otherwise, we'll take the 1-0 start before hosting Dallas on Friday night.

So what did your boys do tonight (if they played)?

Ugh Pelicans did the exact same thing last time they versed the Pacers, opened up a huge lead but didn't execute down the stretch and let them back into the game and get the W.

Hopefully part of the learning process of being a young team.

Happy Halloween! Tricks and treats are coming up with two games tonight. What games are on the card? Here's tonight's lineup:

* New York Knicks at Chicago Bulls
* Golden State Warriors at Los Angeles Clippers

Both are NBA on TNT games. Enjoy tonight's action!

Chippy game between the Warriors and Clippers, I wish the GSW had gotten up though. Chris Paul joins Lebron James as the only active player to have a 40pt 15assist game. Heat play the Nets tomorrow, should be awesome. Raptors will try and make it 2 from 2 against the Hawks after taking down Boston in game 1.

First back-to-back for the Rockets begins tonight when we host Dallas. The following night is our first road game, at Utah as part of a three-game road trip. Rockets have to win more games against Western Conference opponents including in the tough Southwest Division.

Congratulations to the Bulls last night for taking down the Knicks 82-81 in Chicago. The Clippers won 126-115 hosting Golden State.

Tonight is the 2013-2014 regular season debut of the NBA on ESPN/ABC. They have the doubleheader of the Miami Heat at the Brooklyn Nets followed by the San Antonio Spurs at the Los Angeles Lakers.
