Kiwi basketball fans rejoice! Steven Adams had 17pts and 10 rebounds today to go with 3 assists and 3 blocks. With Perkins playing so badly (refer Shaqtin a Fool) Adams just may be in the starting line-up soon.

Steven Adams was awesome last night. He has played very well so far in this very early part of the season.

Just wrapped up... depressing effort for the Rockets. Turnovers and a Third Quarter offensive slump led to the Rockets losing 107-94. So far, all three of our fails have been against Los Angeles teams. Even with certain Clippers in foul trouble, the Rockets still failed.

This has been a losing homestand. Will it be a winless homestand (and three straight losses) when Toronto comes to H-Town this Monday night? Hoping for a turnaround...

I saw our reigning R.O.Y. Lillard have his worst game in the NBA, tonight. We still won. We were in Sac Town.

I wish Sacramento the best, but that is one horrible team they got down there, and that's coming from a Blazer fan, whose team's an average at best.

I respect Damian Lilliard. Sorry he had such an off-night. I'm sure all sins are forgiven since your team still won- unlike my Rockets.

Elsewhere...
* Speaking of winning, Boston seems to have gotten their act together. They knocked off the Heat in Miami.

* Indiana beat the Nets in Brooklyn to improve to 7-0.

* Golden State got smacked on the road at Memphis.

* Cleveland needed Double Overtime at home to finally put away the Philadelphia 76ers.

* Toronto rocked the Utah Jazz hard in beautiful Toronto. Toronto Rock City?

* Home cooking didn't mean a thing for Milwaukee as Dallas easily handled the Milwaukee Bucks.

Congratulations to all other winners.

Them and Utah so far this season, the Raptors just flogged Utah 115-91 (they were up by 40 at one point I think, the whole 4th quarter was garbage time).

The Heat should have won that, stupidity allowed the Celtics an outside chance and it fell.

It's like a 50/50 against the Clippers this year so far, even for the best teams. You guys'll get another shot at them.

Lillard couldn't buy a basket tonight, but he did OK in other areas. Kid has composure. Really reminds me of Brandon Roy in some ways.

Yeah, some of the Utah scores I've seen's been pretty epic..... bad. Hard to say that without smiling. Historically, much bad blood between our clubs. :dopey:

Suns beat the Pelicans (again) 101-94. The Morris Twins have transformed into absolute monsters off the bench in the past 4 games.
Most notably Markieff, who is averaging 22.7 PPG 9.0 RPG 4.7 FTA 68.3 FG% in his last 3, finally becoming a decent NBA player.

The Thunder played from behind most of the game tonight against the Wizards. However, they were able to tie it up in regulation and force overtime. Overtime was closer than it needed to be, but OKC pulled out a win.

It's on John, Raptors play your Rockets tomorrow! I don't know if I can expect a W for the Torontonians, I supposed it depends on which versions of each team show up.

Well so far, we can't beat teams from Los Angeles. I just hope it doesn't be like "we can't beat teams from Los Angeles or Canada" after tonight. That's unless more NBA teams get started in Canada- like in cities of all the NHL's Canadian teams start beating us.

As a Houston sports fan, these are semi-depressing times. My Astros had their third-straight 100+ loss season, my Texans have now lost seven in a row, my U. of Houston Cougars lost a heartbreaker at Central Florida, and my Rockets have now lost two straight games. Atlanta and Cleveland usually have their sports woes, but so does Houston. Toronto's pretty good. I'm not second-guessing them. We'll see what happens tonight.

I can tell you which version of each team will likely show...... but it won't matter anyway. :P

Dang... 48 minutes didn't solve anything. So in Double Overtime, we won 110-104. I didn't really follow the game to be honest. I was pretty surprised when I did follow some of the game... to find out the game went into Overtime. This homestand is over. Next up is some road action. Rockets got it done and snapped their two-game losing streak. Sorry, Paulie...

Detroit Pistons at Golden State Warriors

That is tonight's NBA Fan Night Game of the Week. So people want to know how a possibly dangerous Detroit Pistons squad can do at another dangerous team like Golden State. I keep thinking sometimes that Golden State is a college team- maybe because of the "State" part of the team's name. Still, this should be a pretty good game. Wouldn't hurt to stay up late to follow this one if you can.

Only four games tonight. Here are the other three matches:
* Milwaukee Bucks at Miami Heat
* Washington Wizards at Dallas Mavericks
* New Orleans Pelicans at Los Angeles Lakers

Enjoy some NBA basketball, folks!

I found out my Rockets are on a quick back-to-back starting tonight. Right now, it's about 48-46, Philadelphia with about 5:15 left in the first half. This back-to-back features Philadelphia tonight followed by a National TV game at New York.

The Thunder play at the Clippers tonight. Kendrick Perkins will not be playing tonight or tomorrow night, as his grandfather, who raised Perk, passed away. In his place, the Kiwi, Steven Adams, will be starting.

Second-straight overtime for the Rockets. This time, in Houston's only visit to Philadelphia. And this time... we were defeated 123-117. The Sixers always seem to have our number, especially at Philly. We led by 10 in the 4th Quarter before Philadelphia came back to win in Overtime. Damn. Not to be forgotten was Jeremy Lin's ballin' tonight, as was Dwight Howard. James Harden was out with a bruised foot. Still- Rockets lose. No rest for the weary- at the Knicks tomorrow night. Got to get it together quickly.

And I want to extend my thoughts and prayers in loving memory of Kendrick Perkins' grandfather passing away.

As much as i want this tankfest to happen, I'm too intoxicated with finally having something resembling a winning team with a clear future again.
And from Lillard's performance... it looks like he isn't really torturing us right now.
Lopez having 10 rebounds at the half is shocking me, he never did that in PHX.

Dang. I just checked the score & Suns are up by 3 1. Come on Blazers!

This one's getting to be a seesaw!

I see Philly beat the Rockets(sorry John :P), Utah got their first win. Interesting scores.

Damn, Pacers still undefeated & San Antonio not far behind. More than likely going to stretch that 9-0 against the Bucks & possibly 10-0 if the Bulls don't get their act together.

San Antonio's only loss has come from the Blazers. Go figure. When we were the team to beat in early 2000's, they dominated us. Last few years, we've had San Antonio's number, and we've been mediocre at best.

P.S. Blazers evened the score with the Suns. Go Lillard, Go Blazers!

I'm having déjà vu.This is the same way the suns lost to the spurs earlier this season. A Back door tony Parker layup.

I wouldn't get my hopes up my man. Both of our teams, we are just overachieving. Many more losses to come! :D

Edit: What happened here, Brett?(or Villain)

If Perkins was out for this game, losing Ibaka would really hurt the Thunder for the second half!

Don't worry, I know a lot of people were seriously expecting Archie Goodwin to be Rookie of the year, sixth man, becoming the next Kobe.. If that isn't getting your hopes up I don't know what is. =p

I looked at the Griffin/Ibaka video again, it sure looks to me like it was all Griffin. You can't see the whole thing, but what I did observe was after Ibaka block on Griffin, Griffin holds Ibaka's arm while making it look like he's the one being held(classic NBA). When Ibaka finally push off on Griffin to free his arm, Barnes shoves Ibaka.

As far as I'm concerned, all three players should've been kicked out. Sure could use replays in these situations! Edit: If they were going to eject Griffin or Ibaka, two players involved in the initial play. Otherwise, I'd eject just Barnes(foul on him), double foul on Ibaka & Griffin.

I have no idea what happened in the game. I started dozing off in the first quarter and decided after the first quarter to go to sleep for the night.

EDIT: I just watched the video. Had Barnes not shoved Ibaka, I do not think any thing would have come out of the situation. Ibaka was trying to free his arm from Griffin. Barnes took exception to that and shoved Ibaka.

I am not really sure why Ibaka was ejected if Blake was not. They should have called double technicals on Ibaka and Griffin. Barnes should have been ejected regardless, as he instigated the whole escalation.

EDIT #2: Losing Serge for the second half of that game hurt tremendously. He started the year out shooting very badly in the first two games. Since then, he has shot the ball much better to the tune of 70% in the next four games (includes first half against the Clippers). His rebounding has also been better this year and he is still blocking lots of shots. Without Perk being available, that left them short handed in the front court. It also did not help that Nick Collison was in foul trouble.

And while I have liked what I have seen out Steven Adams so far, he is still a rookie. He has shown some promise. He looks to have some ability to play on both sides of the ball. However, he still has stuff to learn to succeed night in and night out in the NBA. That will come with playing time, but the glimpses have looked good so far.
