We beat Dallas 113-105 tonight, but man... did the Rockets have to work for it, especially late. They had a pretty good lead until they started to relax as Dallas pulled a bit closer late. The Rockets eventually didn't let off their guard too late to where they'd give the game away. We had to work for that win, but really the Rockets actually had to work for the Charlotte victory as well back on Wednesday. I heard the game got chippy at a few points- as to be expected when you have a game among the Texas Triangle of NBA teams. The Rockets have shown their worth at home. Now, it's time to take the show out on the road; and this road trip consists of three places that are tough to play at. Houston Rockets at the Utah Jazz tomorrow night. After that, it's a back-to-back with the Rockets at the Los Angeles Clippers on Monday night followed by at Portland the following night.

For now, though... Rockets at Jazz tomorrow night.

Pathetic showing by the Thunder tonight against the Timberwolves. Very poor shooting and very negligent taking care of the ball.

So, um...
My Suns are on top of the western Conference standings.
The sixers are also on top of the east.
So much for tanking.

Anthony Davis breaking out against the Bobcats as he had a career night and the Pelicans get their first win.

25pts with 8 rebounds 6 blocks and 6 steals.

The brow is on a roll.

Recently wrapped up... the Rockets won 104-93 at Utah. Chandler Parsons got a double-double: 24 pts. and 12 rebounds. James Harden had 23 points. Jeremy Lin had 20 pts. D12 picked up 15 points and 8 rebounds. The Rockets will go back to work on Monday with another back-to-back. This time, at the Clippers on Monday followed by at Portland on Tuesday. Rockets now 3-0 on the young season.

Elsewhere...
* congratulations to the New Orleans H... uh, Pelicans... on a job well done. Not only their first win of the season, but their first win CONVINCINGLY- 105-84. New Orleans was rocking tonight.

* The city of Brotherly Love shown no love to the Chicago Bulls. Their hearts were broken with a 107-104 victory by the 76ers. Can't we all get along?

* The Mavericks hammered the Memphis Grizzlies up in Dallas. The score in Dallas was 111-99 in favor of the Mavs.

* Rejoice, Raptors fans- your boys went into Milwaukee and picked up a 97-90 victory.

Congratulations to all other winners from tonight's games.

I agree with Mac on the 3-game comment. Teams don't start the season by tanking right off the bat. They always compete for while, see which direction it takes them, observe & see which players to keep, team needs, etc.

In the case of the Suns, it does make it harder for other teams to play against them, because Suns roster is brand freakin' new, including the Coach. Scouting is pretty critical, and the Suns are pretty unpredictable right now.

The 76ers are still holding the Regular Season Championship Belt after three games. That is impressive.

Halloween was a long time ago, but one of the ugliest beasts in the history of mankind... is the New Orleans Pelicans' mascot. Only uglier basketball mascot in the NBA is that mascot for the Fort Wayne Mad Ants of the NBA Developmental League (Fort Wayne is the NBDL affiliate of Charlotte, Detroit, Indiana, Memphis, and Orlando).

Early Nobember doesn't set the tone for how a team will finish a season. At least wait until about after the All-Star Break or heading towards the All-Star Break. My Rockets are 3-0 at present. The Utah Jazz are 0-3. Does it mean that the Rockets are a 50+ win team and the Jazz a 50+ loss team? No! The NBA season is an 82-game marathon. You're going to win and lose- just don't lose often if you want to make the postseason. Panic now, but there's still plenty of season left to turn things around.

Yeah. They took the belt from the Heat in their first game and have continued to hold it through two more games against the Washington Professional Basketball Team and Da Bulls.

This just in. Russell Westbrook cleared and will play tonight!
This is the type of bad luck the suns are known for. (Westbrook was supposed to be out for another month)
Anyways, it was nice being undefeated.

Rockets go down in flames. Our first fail of the season is a 137-118 root canal handed by the Los Angeles Clippers at Staples Center. So Villain's boys put a hit (mafia speak) on my Rockets to fall to 3-1 on the season so far.

Up next... Rockets will have some Trailblazer problems in Portland (get ready, a6m5!) Tuesday night.

So much happens in the NBA so quickly! I wish we got that talk show with Shaq and Barkley televised in Australia to help keep up to date and for hilarious funnies.
I see the Warriors now hold the championship belt after someone finally put the 76'ers in their place. Tomorrow my favourite team, the Raptors, will in-efficiently take on my brother's favourite team, the Heat. We don't stand a chance but one can hope for a good game since no matter who wins we'll be watching it.
Good to hear Westbrook is back, I don't much like him but I don't wish injury upon anybody in the NBA, I'd love to see a fully healthy injury risk free NBA in a perfect world.

Tonight is the first NBA Fan Night Game of the Week for this season. People voted, and the Fan Night game is...

Los Angeles Lakers at Dallas Mavericks!

So NBA fans want to see how the Lakers will do up in Big D. LAL is 2-2 on the season while Dallas is 2-1. Remember that there's no Kobe Bryant for the Lakers.

Enjoy some NBA basketball tonight.

Well Paulie it's your teams lucky day I just put a bet on the heat and its 1st quarter and they're up by 7 right now

We are not ready for your caliber. Maybe next year, I think we are still one piece short this year. ;)

Utah has no interest in playing tonight. Getting blown out by Brooklyn.

Mavs pretty much had this in control from near the start. Shows just how valuable Kobe is to the Lakers offense.

HOU at POR just wrapped up. Tough to play at Portland no matter who comes to town. Rockets left the City of Roses with a 116-101 victory. The Trailblazers seemed to be in all kinds of foul trouble as I was listening to the game on the radio (Sports Talk AM 790 here in Houston). To me, the Rockets basically just woke up and came alive mostly in the second half to put some damage on Portland. Otherwise, Portland was just raining three-point bombs for a good portion of the game. But still... the Rockets came out on top. So the we took two out of three in this road trip.

Rockets will get some Thursday night action next when we host the Los Angeles Lakers. This will begin a three-game homestand for us. 4-1 to start the season isn't bad.

116, there you go. That team can not play defense, and in this league, you are irrelevant without good defense.

Did you know that the only remaining undefeated team so far is the Indiana Pacers? I doubt this Pacers team has some guy named Reggie Miller (who came out pretty good, I heard...), but they do have a solid team. Tonight, the Pacers are on the back end of a back-to-back. They downed Detroit 99-91 last night. Tonight, sumbrownkid's Bulls will welcome the Pacers to the Windy City. Yep. Central Division-leading Indiana will take on current last place Central Division team Chicago. Actually, Chicago and Milwaukee are tied for last so far with identical 1-2 records.

I mentioned the only undefeated team remaining. These teams are all winless so far: Boston (0-4), Washington (0-3), and Utah (0-4). We will have only two winless teams remaining since Utah will play at Boston tonight. The Washington Wizards will be at the Philadelphia 76ers. I doubt the Wizards will pick up their first win against a very tough Sixers squad.

Enjoy you some basketball tonight.

Three games tonight are coming up. Two of those games will be on the NBA on TNT, including both Los Angeles teams. One awesome night. Here is what's on card for tonight:

* Los Angeles Clippers at Miami Heat (NBA on TNT)
* Atlanta Hawks at Denver Nuggets
* Los Angeles Lakers at Houston Rockets (NBA on TNT)

Enjoy this Thursday of NBA basketball.

M:censored:f:censored:!!! Rockets had a chance to ice the game, after manning up finally taking the lead late in the 4th... but end up losing 99-98 at home. Steve Blake hit a catch-and-shoot three to take the lead for good. Tough way to lose, but the Rockets could have played much better than the bulls:censored: performance they shown for most of the game. They were even down by as much as 19 (or so I heard) to the Lakers. Just like my Texans on national TV, the Rockets fail on national TV with a close game. Great comeback, but it wasn't enough. We're playing again next Thursday night at the Knicks. So maybe our hopes will improve in our next nationally-televised game.

Sad night in Houston.
