Tonight, the NBA Fan Night Game of the Week is... the Oklahoma City Thunder at the Denver Nuggets. One Brett will obviously be watching/following to see how his Thunder will do playing up in Denver.

Go enjoy some NBA Action tonight.

I didn't get a chance to see the Knicks last night but how do you not call a timeout in the last six seconds when you have 3 timeouts left. How does a veteran team not know they need to call a timeout? smh:banghead::banghead::banghead::banghead::banghead::banghead::banghead::banghead::banghead::banghead::banghead::banghead::banghead::banghead::grumpy:

I'm watching NBA TV and a replay of the Minnesota Timberwolves at Boston Celtics. That can mean only one thing- Tommy Heinsohn's passionate commentary in defense of the Celtics. This guy is perhaps the most spirited color commentator in all of sports- let alone the NBA.

As far as that recent New York Knicks loss, yeah, kjb. That one was a head-scratcher. I probably would have taken a timeout just to make sure my team know exactly what the heck they're supposed to do and to keep everybody on the same page. Sad circumstances. You're better getting a quality shot rather than just throwing anything towards the rim. But... that's basketball.

Well then... Something tells me it's more than player development..

So, who do you think will get traded? And to where?
More importantly, what would you like to see your team acquire?
I'd like to see the suns get a talented forward that can do a little more than shoot 3's. (Frye, Morris Twins.) I'm hoping we can snag someone good (I heard Jeff Green is being shopped) in a 3-team trade, the same way Bledsoe was acquired.

Easy game turned into a hard one for the Blazers tonight. Lillard hit the (near)buzzer beater to down the Cavs in Cleveland. We have Minnesota on the back of the back-to-back, which is always tough on the road. I'm a big fan of Kevin Love losing, so I hope Blazers pull this one off. Go Blazers!

Are Boston really thinking of trading their best up and coming player in Jeff Green?

I love reading articles written with hypothetical coversations between GMs, they're often quite funny, like Ujiri of the Raptors telling Dolan of the Knicks to wash his car, mow his lawn and trade him more future 1st round picks in exchange for nothing and Dolan obliging. Perhaps they're wrong, but Ujiri had no business getting the return he did when he traded Carmelo Anthony to the knicks, he got a good haul when trading Bargnani to the Knicks, and now the Knicks are the most prominent suitors for Lowry and there's all sorts of talk about what Ujiri might get in return for him.

Edit: Nice work from Lillard to on his back-to-back game winners. I'm glad the Blazers are the surprise package of the NBA this season, glad there even is a surprise package.

Truly is a shocker. Especially after seeing their first regular season game(played like it was a pickup game & not a good one), then the Blazers requiring just that one game to fine tune their offense. They've been clicking ever since, nobody knows how long this run will continue on.

Edit: God, Blazers almost came back from being down by 100 points earlier(slight exaggeration). Fourth game in five nights, it doesn't annoy me in the least. Go Blazers!

We roughed up Chicago 109-94 here at Houston. sumbrownkid [unfortunately] called it- a blowout. It doesn't get any easier for either Houston or Chicago. The Chi-town boys got to go up north to meet the Oklahoma City Thunder on Thursday night. My Rockets will be at the Indiana Pacers on Friday night as part of an ESPN doubleheader.

Elsewhere...
* Miami took care of Indiana 97-94. This was perhaps the biggest match of the night.

* ...it took Overtime for Kemba Walker to cash in the game-winning shot for Charlotte as the Bobcats shocked Toronto 104-102 in Toronto.

* The Orlando Magic ran out of tricks to try to stop the Utah Jazz. It was an 86-82 victory for the visiting Utah Jazz.

* It was 113-107 in Brooklyn as the Brooklyn Nets failed to beat the Washington Wizards.

* The Detroit Pistons had just enough horsepower to beat the Boston Celtics 107-106 in Boston.

* After slamming my Rockets on Sunday, the Kings got slammed themselves at Atlanta- a 124-107 beating of the Sacramento Kings.

* a6m5's Portland Trail Blazers went ice cold in Minneapolis, losing 120-109 at the Timberwolves. The Target Center was likely enjoying this win over a very solid Portland squad.

* The New York Knicks needed Double Overtime to beat the 5-win Milwaukee Bucks on the road. Milwaukee is stuck on five wins after losing 107-101 at home to the Knicks.

* Dallas hosted the Memphis Grizzlies in this Southwest Division showdown. Not buying any of that Graceland stuff, McLaren's Mavs won 105-91.

* DCybertron's Phoenix Suns were about to have some San Antonio Spurs problems tonight in Phoenix. Their problem solving didn't exactly work as the black and silver boys won 108-101.

Congratulations to all of tonight's winners, including the eventual winner of the New Orleans Pelicans at the Los Angeles Clippers (78-65, LAC, end of 3rd Quarter as of the time of this initial post).

Raptors blew a big lead and plenty of chances to win that game, disappointing or artistic tanking?:odd:

Edit: I was gone 2 whole hours and Asik hasn't been traded yet?! Just get it over with already!

And I will be in attendance of tonight's Thunder/Bulls matchup. :D However, it stinks that Derrick Rose is hurt and will not get to see him in action. :(

Thursday Night basketball. The NBA on TNT will highlight tonight's two matches, and here they are:

* Chicago Bulls at Oklahoma City Thunder
* San Antonio Spurs at Golden State Warriors

Enjoy some Thursday night NBA hoops.

My Knicks have got to be one of the dumbest teams around! How do you chuck a shot with 13 seconds left up by two? One thing I can say about the Kinicks there is never a dull moment. :ouch:

According to league sources, Houston has ended Asik trade talks, decided to keep him.

Well that was anti-climatic.

I'm not surprised. They were asking for a 1st rd pick for him and not many teams are willing to give up a 1st rd pick in what is considered to be a top heavy draft.

I read on ESPN's Bottom Line that Kobe Bryant will be out for six weeks due to a knee fracture. Get well soon, Kobe.

I would guess that they got lowballed..... bad. Asik contract has that huge balloon payment payout next year(happens to be the final year, I think), so while he's a promising prospect for most any teams, I would imagine a contract like that would be extremely difficult to make it fit in line with the salary cap.

While I've heard some analyst criticizing Houston Front Office, they must be really retarded not to see that Morey was damn well aware of what he set his team up for. It's a win-win. Best case scenario, you end up with Dwightmare Howard & a pay too much for unhappy backup center. Worst case scenario, you got a pretty good deal on a solid starting center. Win-win.

P.S. We still got plenty of time until trade-deadline & anything goes right before the deadline.

Lakers sign former Suns PG Kendall Marshall, who was out of the league after his rookie year last year.
It's kinda fun to watch the Lakers sign the Suns' scrubs.

It's kind fun seeing Kobe injured again. Karma comes back to what the Lakers did to Sacramento in 2001.

Yeah next thing you know they'll sign back Shannon Brown, 2010-2011 all over again baby!

Making fun of L.A. is bit pathetic(don't get me wrong, I'm plenty guilty). Ultimately, they are the winners. Regular season's pretty meaningless when our two franchises combined(Blazers & Suns), Lakers have won more Championship in last five years than in our combined franchise history(NBA sucks).

I doubt it. I'd put that on the referees & David Stern before Kobe or the Lakers. The setback also only helps the Lakers, as they were going to lose this season anyway, and now they will be better positioned for the reportedly deep 2014 Draft.

While yes, The Lakers are a very respectful team, I just think the past (and the future) is irrelevant when judging a present day team.Unfortunately I haven't seen anyone else who thinks like that. But I have a feeling the Lakers will win the lottery because of David Stern. He can't have the leagues most stories team suck for longer than 3 years. Wiggins and Parker would be the perfect remedy for them..

If the 2013-2014 NBA Finals ends up being Rockets vs. Pacers, we have a LOT of work to do to beat Indiana. We got eviscerated 114-81 tonight. I figured we'd lose. I just wasn't expecting this bad a beat down. I also didn't have the Rockets as a brick factory in the 2nd Half. Even worse knowing former Rocket Luis Scola was lighting us up like a Christmas tree. Too damn bad he couldn't play at this kind of level when playing for the Rockets many moons ago. Seems like all you needed to do to make Scola better was put an Indiana Pacers uniform on him.

Anyhow, we lost. Good job to everyone who didn't fail tonight.

Sorry, but I am glad to hear that. I still can't believe they got beat by Miami.

P.S. I always thought Scola was a talented PF, even back when he was a Rocket.

That is no way to follow any major sports!? Championships & bragging rights that comes with them definitely should add to the rep of said team. Anybody can win during the regular season.

On the conspiracy theory, this is Stern's final season. Of course, his replacement is his protege Silver, so we'll have to wait & see.

I don't totally buy into the conspiracy to that degree....... You'd have to be blind not to see biased officiating, we are definitely on the same page there. Officials have openly referred to them in the past as "benefit of doubt" calls. On a call a rookie, or unknown Euro might not get, Kobe may.

Of course, we've all heard of the infamous Sacramento-Laker game. Mob? Stern? Who knows.

That's just my extremely uncommon and unpopular opinion.
It mainly stems from my bias against the type of fans, most notably the portion of Laker fans that know more about who makes their team clothing than the team, (for a town in Arizona, it seems to have a lot of them.) that when they make fun of other teams, then are in denial of their Laker's record when told, reply with the cliche "But we have the most championships!" (Boston does..)

Anyways, my rant is over (Jeff Van Gundy gets paid to rant, why can't I?), and I'm disappointed Kendall Marshall hasn't played yet for the Lakers, and they really need him..
