The Raptors took down Dallas in an ugly overtime game. I read somewhere yesterday as well that it was the first time in NBA history 3 Aussies have started in the same game (Boguts, Mills, Baynes). Although Baynes only played 8mins after sucking pretty badly (I put it down to rust due to the fact he only plays like once every 5 games).
News in the last day or so is that 6'6 Australian point guard Dante Exum will still visit 5 college teams before deciding if he'll play college a year or declare for the draft, I hope he declares although I'm not sure how crucial college ball really is to the development of young prospects.

Oh Scola..

I was actually concerned about tonight's game when my Rockets took on the Detroit Pistons at the Palace at Auburn Hills. No James Harden and no Jeremy Lin. Didn't need them. We still won 114-97. Omer Asik didn't make the trip. Patrick Beverley was out with a fractured hand during the game. A beat-up powerful team against a possibly dangerous middle-of-the-road team shown the Rockets' resolve. It's almost like the proverbial one-legged man in an ass-kicking contest, and we kicked butt in MoTown against the Pistons, who blew a motor and was leaking oil. Our record is now 18-10 as we got therapy after getting trampled on in Indianapolis back last night.

Elsewhere...

* The New York Knicks implemented a curfew since they have another daytime NBA game. Did it work? No. kjb's Knicks lost 95-87 in New York City to the Memphis Grizzlies.

* The boys in green were at home as Boston hosted the Washington Wizards. The Wizards won 106-99.

* It was 105-100 in Orlando as the Magic lost at home to the Sacramento Kings.

* Charlotte had themselves some Jazz problems tonight. It was Utah who traveled to Charlotte and won 88-85.

Congratulations to the eventual winners of every other game, including:
* New Orleans at Portland
* Los Angeles Lakers at Golden State
* Denver at Los Angeles Clippers

Games in progress as of this initial post:
* Cleveland at Chicago (83-73, Chicago; 9:24 left in 4th)
* Philadelphia at Milwaukee (63-59, Milwaukee; 8:44 left in 3rd)
* Oklahoma City at San Antonio (67-58, Oklahoma City; 9:16 left in 3rd)
* Dallas at Phoenix (40-31, Phoenix; Halftime)

Again- congratulations to all other eventual winners.

I just came in here to say, "sit down!" to all the Pelican fans in here. j/k

We have the Clippers & OKC next. We barely beat the Pelicans, so that's gonna go well......

God damn that was a close game too :banghead:

So... Speaking of the Pelicans... The Hornets are back.
This isn't happening mid-season though, right? I am glad about the change(back). Hornets used to be one of my favorite teams. Granmama, Mugsy & 'Zo Mourning. Those were the days. I even wore LJ's kevlar Converse!

I didn't realize how deep that team was. You guys have all these bench players that used to be such pain in the ass for the Blazers elsewhere.

I think my MVP may have been Nico Batum. He facilitated so much of our key offense towards the end. 👍

Things just went from bad to worse for Brooklyn I hear, Brook Lopez out indefinitely with a broken foot. The Bobcats also lost Taylor to an Achilles today. I really do hate the injury bug in the NBA, nippy little bugger it is.

I was going to say that this may be for the best, but knowing Brooklyn, I bet they already traded away their pick for this year's draft. Still, a shake up in the roster may actually improve the team, you never know. Plus, they still have that drunk-prima donna-wife beater for their coach..... nevermind, that may not help, actually.
Sacramento Beat Orlando!
I'm kinda rooting for them, too.

Wow, go Raptors! They actually beat OKC tonight.... and it wasn't LAC & OKC coming up for us, it was LAC, then Miami. My logic suggests Miami by double digit, but it's been a crazy season for us in a good way, and it is at home, so it may actually be a 50/50 game, at least in the regular season setting.

The Thunder played like they arrived at the arena just before the game started and from playing the night before. Just dreadful in the first quarter, a bit better in the second, good in the third quarter, and just dreadful in the fourth.

Durant had a pretty terrible night, and coming off a day's rest vs OKC on the 2nd night of a back to back, the Raptors were able to end OKC's win streak at 9 and tarnish that undefeated home record of their's. Toronto re-takes 1st in the woeful Atlantic division, we face the Australian Boomers Spurs tomorrow.

That was at OKC? Wow. Much props to them, especially considering that they were on the second of back-to-back & on the road. I still stand by that OKC is the team to beat in the West.

Toronto was not on a back to back, OKC was. The Thunder played the Spurs on Saturday night and then the Raptors on Sunday. Toronto plays the Spurs tonight.

Well, that "vs OKC" bit got me consued. Yeah, back-to-back's tough. You guys got screwed against us in Portland, too. They were sloppy, and it had nothing to do with our defense.

Texas Triangle action tonight. No James Harden in this one(?). Patrick Beverley had successful hand surgery, but he's on the shelf for about 4-6 weeks. So what happened when the Rockets hosted the Dallas Mavericks? We lost, that's what happened. It was 111-104 here in Houston as the Mavs took down my Rockets. Up next for us... we take on the other Texas team on Christmas night- Houston at San Antonio.

Elsewhere...
* 112-99 was the score in San Antonio as the San Antonio Spurs put down the Toronto Raptors.

* New York beat the Orlando Magic 103-98 in Orlando, but it was bittersweet for the Knicks as Carmelo Anthony had an ankle injury in which he didn't return to the game.

* The Detroit Pistons motored away to a victory at Cleveland with a 115-92 win. Cleveland weren't exactly rock stars tonight hosting the boys from MoTown.

* A narrow Overtime victory in 111-110 Charlotte was what the Charlotte Bobcats got as they hosted the Milwaukee Bucks.

* Only two points separated Atlanta and Miami as the Miami Heat tamed the Atlanta Hawks 121-119 in Overtime. Miami is now 21-6 on the season.

* It was a beat down in Brooklyn when the Indiana Pacers went into Brooklyn and hammered the downward spiraling Nets 103-86. Nets probably REALLY miss Brook Lopez now...

* Memphis held serve at home with a 104-94 beating of the Utah Jazz. Graceland don't like Jazz all that much, I guess.

Congratulations to winners of all other games, including the eventual winners of:
* Golden State at Denver
* Los Angeles Lakers at Phoenix Suns
* New Orleans at Sacramento (on NBA TV)

Suns routed the Lakers, 90-117, behind Miles Plumlee's 17 points,20 boards, and 1 accidental head-butt on Pau Gasol, causing him to bleed severely from his eyelid and miss the rest of the game. Also, Gerald Green went 6-11 from the three to have 22, with Marcus Morris adding 19 from 5-6 at the three.
Dionte Christmas (See: My avatar) came in, probably only for marketing purposes. (Hey, it is Christmas time).

* Los Angeles Clippers at Golden State Warriors

Then on Thursday night on the NBA on TNT, we're hosting the Memphis Grizzlies. So we have a Southwest Division back-to-back. Got to win your Division games!

Hope all of you have a happy and safe Christmas.

Portland Trail Blazers ranked #1, tied for the best record in the NBA. LMAO.... Ridiculous, really.

Yeah I probably didn't word it the best , the Thunder had the back-to-back, Toronto were coming in with a day's rest. But a win's a win, I'll take it!

Hardcore fans like us(:sly:) put that imaginary asterisk by wins such as these, but yeah, official records & stats couldn't care less if the other team played the night before. 👍
