Merry Christmas! :) Enjoy some Christmas NBA action today and tonight, and good luck to all teams playing today and/or tonight. Five games with each team reportedly rocking those sleeved uniforms you either love or hate.

Anyhow... enjoy today's/tonight's games!

Between how badly outmatched Knicks looked, and those fabulouth skin-tight shirts, it took me about 10 minutes to turn it off. NBA, you are greedy, I get it(it's all about pushing apparel sales), but those shirts are just little too desperate IMO.

Brooklyn will be lucky to have a competitive team in a few years. They went all in this year, shot themselves in the foot and essentially have no chance to make the playoffs and even if they miss, it won't matter because they traded away all of their picks. This team is an utter embarrassment.

The nets need to fire Jason Kidd. Pierce and Garnett need to be used more than 15 minutes a game if they want them to be effective.

We led wire-to-wire (or flag-to-flag in racing speak) with a 111-98 victory at San Antonio. The first quarter was ugly for the black and silver. The Rockets led by as many as 18 at one point. We'll need to keep up the pressure for when the Memphis Grizzlies face us at Toyota Center tomorrow night as part of the NBA on TNT.

Elsewhere...

* sumbrownkid's Chicago Bulls scorched the Brooklyn Nets 95-78 in Brooklyn. It was a very good Christmas for the Chicago Bulls. Brooklyn? Not so much...

* It's the Brett/kjb special! However, there was nothing special about this one as the Thunder stormed all over the New York Knicks 123-94 at Madison Square Garden.

* How about Omnis's Miami Heat? Well, this east-meets-west showdown involved El Heat and the Lakers. The Heat won 101-95 today in Los Angeles.

Congratulations to the eventual winner of Villian's Los Angeles Clippers at the Golden State Warriors.

So.. Anyone see the Warriors and Clippers fight right after the game? Chris Paul was pissed during those last few minutes.

They had a pajama fight on Christmas? What's wrong with people? How does Blake Griffin even have endorsements? That guy is about as likeable as brick.

I can't believe Lebron didn't get called for hanging on the rim. Did they get rid of that rule? A couple possessions later you could even hear some loud jewish guy yelling about it to the refs from courtside.

It's okay, Lakers get so many biased calls they owed Lebron that, plus it's Christmas.

Four games are on the card for tonight. Usually, we get 2 or 3 games. There are 4 for tonight. Tonight's scheedule:

* Atlanta Hawks at Cleveland Cavaliers
* Memphis Grizzlies at Houston Rockets (NBA on TNT)
* San Antonio Spurs at Dallas Mavericks
* Los Angeles Clippers at Portland Trail Blazers (NBA on TNT)

No need returning THESE gifts! Enjoy your Thursday night of hoops, folks!

I'll touch up on some things here for this post.

* That LAC at GS game was pretty chippy. I saw some of those highlights. Man... I guess festive moods on Christmas is overrated when these two hit the hardwood. The Warriors were the only home team to win on Christmas day. Everybody other game- including my Rockets- won on the road.

* Omnis, I was also surprised a Technical Foul wasn't called for LeBron hanging onto the rim for 5+ seconds. I thought the rule was something like you can't hang onto the rim for so long unless you're trying not to get on somebody or something like that. Then again, some would argue superstar treatment as hardly anything get called on players like LeBron James.

* I'm sort of on the fence regarding the sleeved jerseys. The Rockets do look a lot different (as do a lot of other teams) sporting these special uniforms. Rockets red does look pretty sweet. That is, unless you want the Rockets to do back to those blue and white pinstriped uniforms from the 1990s and early 2000s. I actually liked the Rockets' uniforms on Christmas day. Maybe not love these "McDonald's" uniforms, but they do look cool to me.

Eventually, I think those sleeved jerseys may eventually end up being more like... dare I say it- either like WNBA jerseys or even what you see in Euroleague or the PBA (Philippine Basketball Association) with sponsors on the jerseys in addition to the teams. With basketball being so much an international game now, if these sleeved jerseys catch on in the NBA, they'll be more like football (as in "soccer") jerseys. I could easily imagine these NBA jerseys being adorned with sponsors in addition to the team logo. For example, my Rockets play at Toyota Center- so you may see these sleeved jerseys adorned with the Rockets' logo and maybe even Toyota either on the bottom of the jerseys or on the sleeves. I'm not saying it would happen, but it COULD eventually be what these sleeved jerseys will end up being.

* Besides any of this chatter, it's pretty sad both Brooklyn and New York are having brutal seasons. Which of these two do you think will have a better 2013-2014 season moving forward, trades notwithstanding: the Brooklyn Nets or the New York Knicks?

That's all. Take care.

I would say neither they are both terrible although if the Nets fire Kidd and get a different coach they may be able to do a little bit better than Knicks

Ah, I read that he didn't get a tech because the Lakers called timeout after James threw down his umpteenth fastbreak slam.

So, technically, all that hanging didn't count as "during the game" as the rule states.

Yes, if Lakers can use every rule to their advantage, so can Lebron. I'm not a Heat fan, but I'm on their side.

The Memphis Grizzlies had something going for most of the game. That is, until we man'd up and took down Memphis 100-92. A late run by the Rockets helped our cause as we were able to finally wake up after being in such a cold spell. We're now part of this season's 20-win club as win #20 was cashed in tonight. The Rockets also improve to 7-1 in the second game of back-to-backs. Our next two games is a weekend back-to-back: hosting Stavingo's New Orleans Pelicans on Saturday night, then at Brett's Oklahoma City Thunder (yikes!) on Sunday night.

Congratulations to the other winners from tonight's games.

20 seconds left in the O/T, Blazers leading the Clippers by three, but Clippers have the ball. Can they force the second O/T?

Edit: No. They can not.

Blazers beat another elite team....... at home. And on their second of back-to-back. My wild guess: NBA thought the Blazers were going to be struggling a lot this season, gave us a head start.

Chris Paul absolutely gave our ROY Damian Lillard a beat down today. When DeAndre Jordan fouled out early in the overtime, tide turned. Blazers will host the best team in the league Saturday(no, it's not Indiana or OKC). If Blazer make the jumpers, they could beat anybody. State we've been in last couple of weeks, I'm going to say we will lose to Miami on Saturday.

The end.

That was a big 3 for Batum to force overtime, to then win the game makes those shots epic.

Yeah, Nico sure did come up big. Our boys made the key free throws too, but again, I feel for any team playing the back-to-back on the road against rival teams. Any team except for the ones I don't like including the Clips.

I read that Russell Westbrook is out until maybe after the All-Star Break after having knee surgery. That will be an obvious big blow to the Oklahoma City Thunder. The Thunder will be in Charlotte tonight to take on the Charlotte (soon to be Hornets) Bobcats. It's a huge blow to OKC, but it won't be too great a setback. The Thunder are still a plenty solid team even without R. Westbrook.

It does suck, Westbrook is out and Horford sustained a shoulder injury for the Hawks yesterday too, although it's unclear how long he'll be out.

Edit: Horford has torn his right pectoral, out indefinitely.

I feel bad about another setback for Westbrook, and also the Thunder losing one of their two best players. I'm lying about the latter.

The news about Russell Westbrook stinks big time. Reggie Jackson is really going to have to step up and try to fill Westbrook's shoes for the time being. Jeremy Lamb is also going to have to pick it up off the bench and fill the role that Jackson was serving.

Maybe our Oceanic cuzzy Steven Adams can score 20pts a night for you...........then again maybe not.:scared:

Not all of the load will be able to fall to just Reggie Jackson and Jeremy Lamb. The rest of the role players are going to have to step up and be better contributors. Who that is will vary night to night, but someone is going to need to do so.

I would like to see Jeremy Lamb and Perry Jones get more playing time. However, this injury means Derek Fisher is going to end up seeing the court more. While that is not necessarily a bad thing, as he has played pretty well in limited minutes this year, both Lamb and Jones need more minutes against NBA level competition to further develop. Lamb especially needs the minutes, as he is going to be part of the shorter playoff roster rotation.

It would also not bother me to have Steven Adams getting more playing time. He has been brilliant at times, but is still pretty raw. He needs more playing time to develop.

So I've been talking about how sugar coated the Blazers schedule's been. When we are not playing lottery teams, we are hosting the elite teams on the second of back-to-back on the home court....... then there's the game I've been waiting for the whole time: Miami Heat.

We play them tomorrow & guess what the Heat is doing right now. Playing in the overtime, in Sacramento. Jesus.

Edit: Kings are kicking their ass!

Edit: Oh my god..... Did James just make three 3-pointers?  Go Kings!

So ESPN is reportedly dropping Laker games in favor of other teams:

Hopefully they drop the Nets and Knicks games too. Put the exciting teams on TV, care less about the big market ones.

I've always preferred the small market team games, but fans like us are in the minority. I also beg the MLB to drop the Yankees-Red Sox games, well, at least the Yankees, bit it won't happen.
