Lowry put up some great numbers as the Knicks beat the Raptors twice in a row on a back-to-back with them. Not sure if to be happy the Raptors are thundering along, or upset the Raptors may make the play-offs and miss this highly touted draft lottery. Valanciunas has finally stepped up now Gay is gone, and so has Terrence Ross, it's been great to watch.

So My Suns make work of the 76ers, winning 115-101, behind 22 points, 13 rebounds, and 7 stitches (Yes, the commentators actually listed that as a stat) by Miles Plumlee.

Other things Around the league:
  • -Jeff Green, Jordan Crawford, and Avery Bradley outlast the Cavaliers,103-100 despite 32 points from Kyrie Irving. The Cavs were also without Andrew Bynum, who has been suspended indefinitely by the team for basically being a cancer and quitting.
  • -The Pacers rout Deron Williams and a bunch of overpaid/old people, 105-91. Paul George, Lance Stephenson, and George Hill combined for 68 points on 22/34 shooting
  • -Raptors beat the underwhelming Knicks 115-100, behind a 32 point, 11 assist double-double from Kyle Lowry.
  • -The Wiz were probably very bored today, as the humiliate the Pistons, 106-82, with John Wall doing John Wall things.
  • -It was down to the wire in Atlanta, as the Al Horford-less Hawks narrowly beat the Hornets Bobcats 118-116. Paul Millsap had 33 points, 13 rebounds, filling Horford's role nicely.
  • -Mavs dispose of the injured Bulls, 105-83, behind the usuals in Monta Ellis and Dirk Nowitzki.
  • -Rockets win in Houston against the Pelicans, 107-98, despite a Ryan Anderson Double-Double.
  • -Memphis beats the Nuggets, 120-99 behind a bench attack of Ed Davis, Jerryd Bayless, Mike Miller, and James Johnson.
  • -Chris Bosh was a man tonight (I have my doubts about that sometimes),as the 3rd wheel shines in Portland, having 37 points, 10 rebounds, and the game-winning 3 as the Lebron-less Miami Heat beat the Blazers 108-107.
  • The Clippers win in Utah, 98-90, behind a 40 point performance by Blake Griffin.

We won 107-98, but did we have to earn it! This is our first three-straight winning streak in the division for the first time since December 2009. Thanks for the updates, DCybertron. 👍

Talk about a reality check. Blazers played like CRAP, but I still believed that they were going to pull it off, just because they've always out-executed towards the end, and also other teams for some reason have always collapsed against us this season. Tonight, Miami serves us the taste of our own medicine: Improbable three.

That game was mad streaky, shame Eric Gordon didn't play :(

Damned ugly. Rockets destroyed 117-86 at Oklahoma City. As if seeing my Texans lose ANOTHER game was bad enough, this just caps off my dismay as a Houston sports fan. The majority of our loss was in their inability to score a freaking basket early on. Basketball gods hated the Rockets on this night. So... we failed. BAD.

Unfortunate news for Atlanta Hawks fans. (Do the Hawks have fans? I kid. I kid. Well kinda. I have never seen in person or met a Hawks fan.) Al Horford is scheduled for surgery to repair a torn pectoral and likely to miss the rest of the season.

Last Hawks fan I met wasn't even really a Hawks fan...... he was a Dominique Wilkins fan. The human highlight film. We are talking over 20 years ago. Still better than being a Bucks fan. I've never met one.

The Suns beat the Clippers, 107-88, but unfortunately Eric Bledsoe didn't do much in his return to LA. Unless, 7 points, 4 assists, and 3 rebounds is staggering. for you.
Dragic, though, had 26 points, 8 assists, and 5 steals which made up for it.

That really sucks for the Hawks, they were only the 3rd team in the East with a record above 0.500, is it possible the conference will become even more laughable now? What if the Raptors came 3rd?:scared: Scary thoughts. It's also worth mentioning, when Miami visits Atlanta they're cheered like the home crowd.

I had a team mate last season who wore a Bucks jersey.....except it was an age old Bogut jersey which is half to be expected in Australia, he wasn't a Bucks fan.

I know a Bucks fan so they do exist but Hawks fans not so sure :D

Final night of NBA basketball for 2013. Tonight is also the final NBA Fan Night Game of the Week for 2013, and tonight's match chosen by NBA fans is...

Portland Trail Blazers at Oklahoma City Thunder!

So NBA fans want to know if the Trail Blazers can get a hard-earned silver (25th) win on the season against the 25-7 Oklahoma City Thunder. Portland currently stands at 24-7.

Meanwhile, my Rockets will host the Sacramento Kings. You all enjoy this final day of NBA basketball in 2013.

The Thunder should not have lost tonight's game against Portland. Other than LaMarcus Aldridge, Portland was very poor shooting in the first half. Portland played like they were coming off of a game from the night before. In the first half, the Thunder shot the ball very well and had built a nice lead.

The second half was different, at least the a portion of the third quarter and the entire fourth quarter. Portland still shot the ball poorly. However, OKC did even worse, went ice cold, and could not buy a basket unless it was within three to five feet of the bucket. The jump shots that the Thunder were getting were not any different than what was they were getting in the first half, except for the results, many more misses than makes. It did not help matters that the usual outstanding free throw shooting was very poor down the stretch. There were also a few too many sloppy turnovers and a few too many points from those turnovers.

However, the Thunder had a chance at the end. Durant got an open look off a missed free throw and missed the shot. He would probably make that shot most of the time in his sleep.

The loss hurts. The Thunder have now lost two times to Portland. OKC plays Portland two more times before the All Star Game and Westbrook is not scheduled to be back until then. Reggie Jackson is a fine player and will continue filling in nicely in the interim, but he is not Russell Westbrook.

There are couple of *twilight zone music comes on* unexplainable, supernatural things in the NBA routinely observed in these games, and I witnessed both of them(again) tonight: 1) Broadcaster comments on how well the player has been shooting from the line, player misses the free throw. 2) I am convinced that in some games, rims are smaller at one end of the court than at the other.

Blazers got PLENTY of open looks, but they shot horribly in the first half. Thunder were shooting red hot, especially Durant. After the half, trend was damn near reversed. No, Blazers didn't get red hot, but they starting making shots in volume. Thunder, C-O-L-D. How many times have you seen this in NBA games? Team shooting performance totally reverse after half? Wait, I had one of those you start tuning into your team's game, then they start playing horribly, too. Game was tied 22-22 when I tuned in!

Kidding aside, like I said when Westbrook went down, I felt bad for him. He's a hotheaded super passionate player & I love that competitive quality about him, but I was so happy that it'll hurt OKC. :P I think it was our third game in four nights? We effing stole this game in OKC, and I couldn't have smiled any bigger after Durant missed that routine jumper in the final seconds.

I still say OKC is the team to beat in the West, but I don't think they could beat Miami or Indiana in a series, I really don't. Scoring power is one thing, but not many team can make the key execution plays(to be fair, Pacers are in this boat as well), which can be critical in a tight series. They are still young though, and I don't know, it's not like I've seen them play a lot. *shrug*

Blazers, while I still don't see them as contenders, in my eyes, this team is an upgrade over Brandon Roy's Blazers. This team know how to shoot(most nights), and move the ball looking for an opening. While I'm a huge defense oriented basketball fan, I realize that offense of this level is just as hard to come by.

Most years being a Blazer fan, we expected to make the Playoffs. However, we also had low expectations due to many first round exists. This season, health permitting, we may feel some confidence going into the post season....... Post season, not Conference Finals. :D

The Raptors played ugly basketball against the Bulls today but only one team cracked the mirror with their reflection. Neither team could get anything going for a long period of time, and Luol Deng looked rusty after coming back from what I'm told was some missed games for injury. The Raptors won the 1st quarter but the Bulls put the hurt on in the 2nd. From there Toronto kept threatening but every time it got close the Bulls pulled away again. At the start of the 4th quarter the Raptors put together a big run and got up by double digits which proved to be the deciding factor. Bulls almost fought their way back in, especially after some careless turnovers from the Raps, but ultimately the Atlantic division leaders prevailed. It's a shame we play the Pacers tomorrow, we are 1 game shy of a 0.500 record.

It was fitting the Houston Rockets failed in the 2013 finale. We hosted the Sacramento Kings and lost 110-106. I say it was a fitting loss because the Texans and Astros failed in 2013. This loss last night and last year capped off a sad sports year for me.

kjb's New York Knicks come to H-Town Friday night in their only visit this season for Jeremy Lin's former team. Oh, and the Rockets are on a two-game losing streak. Yay.

The Raptors beat the Pacers no asterisks attached! They out defended the best defensive team in the NBA, these guys are really firing on all cylinders lately.

When I heard on the radio on my drive home tonight how the Blazers are the third place team in the Western Conference, I was like "Whaaaaaat!?". It is amazing how your team overachieving & peaking super early can affect your perception! Oh, well. Go Blazers!<<<< but I'm really thinking Michael Jordan Bulls.

I saw that on scoreboard last night, and I can totally respect that kind of effort. 👍

Edit: OK, I just felt like I've been punched in the gut...... San Antonio drops one against NY & OKC losing to Brooklyn. I am not OK with this. WTF.

Yes, was their a lunar eclipse in USA last night?:odd:

I was at the Kings vs Sixers Game, Kings Lost :nervous:

Are you a Kings fan?

The Houston Rockets will finally go to work for 2014 tonight as the New York Knicks will be at Toyota Center. It was reported that the Rockets recently had a players-only meeting. Not that the Rockets are doing very poorly; they just are concerned about games the Rockets could have won- such as the fail against the Kings on New Year's Eve 2013. It isn't panic button time, but we certainly hope to be more competitive rather than be middle-of-the-road.

It's another NBA 'Ball night! Enjoy, friends. :)

I just saw on the news that the Blazers set a record last night. Only team to hit 20+ three-pointers twice in a season. When I was watching that Blazers-OKC game the other night, I could not believe how many threes they were chucking up. Pretty amusing, though they definitely should have shot more inside in that game.

I saw the score. Come on Kings, thought you guys were trying to win!

Haven't been in this thread for some time, my suns lost hard in Memphis. Bledsoe just seems to be injured whenever we play them.

On the bright side, the Suns seem to have had an influence on the NBA, as teams are starting to create their own 2 PG lineups against us in desperation.
Philly threw Carter-Williams and Tony Wroten at us, The clippers used CP3 and Darren Collison, and Memphis already had one with Conley and Allen, but we had no Bledsoe to counter that..

The Houston Rockets started 2014 with... a win! But damn- it was close. A key part of our 102-100 win was ill-advised clock management late in the game. Thereafter, two clutch free throws by Houston helped secure the win for us. Hey... for us Rockets fans, we'll take it. Next game for us is on January 8 against those danged Los Angeles Lakers. Oh, and sorry your boys lost, kjb.

Congratulations to all the other winners from tonight's games.

Lakers are having a field day digging through the Sun's trash:

He actually has people who he can pass it to now, unlike in last year's miserable Suns roster.

I still wouldn't have him on this current Suns team, he's a little slow for our style of offense.

I wish the Kings still had Rick Adelman as coach, he was amazing in Portland and just as amazing in Sacramento.

Paul & Bledsoe..... they seem to be somewhat injury prone. At least that's the impression I get from the headlines from past years.

Yeah, going was very good for the Kings back then, also for Portland when Adelman was coaching here. I saw Adelman before he got the Wolves coaching job & asked him if he was going to coach again. He said that he didn't know yet. :D I've also met Brian Grant from that era Kings & he's super chill. NBA players get bad rep from the negative headlines, but most players I've met has been very cool and/or courteous with me.
