Tonight...

* Brooklyn Nets at Chicago Bulls
* Oklahoma City Thunder at Los Angeles Lakers

Both games as part of the final NBA on TNT broadcast before the All-Star festivities begin in New Orleans (or "Nawlins"). So, uh... enjoy these two games if you'll be following the action.

Blazers lose to OKC at home on Tuesday, they lose the same effing game in LA(Clippers) the next night! They keep up with the other team, only to get out-executed at the end...... It happens to lesser teams, and it was against OKC & LAC afterall.

Taste of our own medicine, really. We were catching rival teams on the second of back-to-back at home first couple months of the season. Good news is that I think they said something like next 7 of 8 are at home. Come. On. Blazers.

It's been a long time since I posted here.

Bulls pull another victory in a game that was actually quite disjointed and boring from both teams. The refs also made it worse with all the whistles. Just let'em play damn it.

And to continue my Lebron haterade (Lookin' at you Omnis :P): Durant for MVP.

For most improved player I'd like to say Augustin. Now I just hope Toronto somehow finds a way to implode after the all star break.

Canadians should be as good at basketball as we Americans are good at diplomacy damn it.

Now the Bulls are in 4th behind them, I hope the same thing happens to Chicago.:P

This is a fight between overweight Chicagoans and overly polite Canadians Paulie! Just stay out of it!

Are you saying I shouldn't bring my "That's not a knife, THIS is a knife"?;)

Time for All-Star weekend! Other than the 3pt contest, I have a Raptor to cheer for in every event I think.

So tonight, the Celebrity Game and Rising Stars Game were played.
Arne Duncan, US Secretary of Education, had 20 points, 11 rebounds and 6 assists to get MVP, only after Kevin Hart gave it up to him. Michael B. Jordan (lol) had a6 points and 7 rebounds to lead the Western Celeb Team.

The Rising Stars challenge was not particuarly exciting, until Dion Waiters and Tim Hardaway Jr. went 1-on-1, continuously draining back to back 3's. Dion Waiters had 31 points, Hardaway Jr. had 36, but Andre Drummond propelled his way to MVP, though, with 30 points and 25 rebounds. However, the man presenting him the trophy dropped it, and it broke.
EDIT: I found a video.

At least the East took out the slam dunk contest. Not really a fan of the team effort stuff, All-Star should be about the individual achievements of players but it did mean Terrence Ross won something without resorting to a popularity contest he was never going to win against the likes of George, Lillard and Wall

The NBA will have its 63rd All-Star Game tonight. The action takes place in New Orleans (or "Nawlins") as the Eastern Conference meets the Western Conference. Good luck to and congratulations to all All-Stars in this season's All-Star Game. Being a Rockets fan, I'm obviously pulling for the West. And of course, New Orleans is a Western Conference city.

Good work East team! That will teach Durant and Griffin for hogging the ball so much. Now back to games that mean anything.........

It's not Blake's fault all his points were off alley-oops.

And a certain Steph Curry didn't have any luck with his shots, while Carmelo set a All star record for most 3's made...:odd:

It was 163-155 in favor of the East All-Stars. The Eastern Conference finally wins after the West beaten them three straight All-Star Games.

Back to work... it's a stacked 'ball night tonight ("BALL NIGHT!"). NBA TV will have this match later tonight:

...San Antonio Spurs at Los Angeles Clippers

If this is a Fan Night game, then they want to see a couple of All-Stars take each other on- Tony Parker for SA vs. Blake Griffin of LAC. Enjoy some Tuesday night NBA hoops!

Raptors win their first game on the home straight, but the refs tried their darndest to help Washington claw back a 20pt lead in the 4th.....

I just heard that LaMarcus Aldridge is out with a groin injury. He's been a trooper playing while hurt, but little LaMarcus was better than no LaMarcus at all. I expect us to start a losing streak!

:(

It will be tough without him, how long is he expected to miss?

They say one week. Tony Parker's hurt, too. Let the suckfest begin for my two teams.

Mills will pick up the slack for Parker.:P Perhaps Robinson can do a commendable job in Aldrige's absence, he hasn't really been given a decent whack in the league yet.

Any good trade rumors? I wish we could make a move or two.

Let us not go down this road in 2014. My new year's resolution was not to get between Patty & your mancrush on Patty. j/k

You may be right. He may step up to the challenge, at least for a short stretch. 👍

Any good trade rumors? I wish we could make a move or two.

There's a few rumours, none of them seem to be based in much fact and most of them seem like highly improbable trades. Raptors are rumoured to be interested in both Rondo and Farried, two players I detest so here's to hoping the Raptors stay put. (Unless they can trade Fields for anything or anyone).

Hah!

Trade Rumors?
Hoopshype compiles a lot of rumors.
Today's basic ones:
  • The Raptors are interested in Rajon Rondo. (Tree'd!)
  • Rondo was almost traded for Isaiah Thomas, Ben McLemore, and a couple of 1st round picks. Trade didn't happen because Rondo didn't want to resign with the Kings.
  • Sacramento and Brooklyn are discussing a Jason Terry and Reggie Evans for Marcus Thornton trade. Additionally, Cleveland may try to add Jarrett Jack into that deal.
  • The Mavs are shopping Shawn Marion and Shane Larkin.
  • The Knicks are still interested in making a Kenneth Faried/Iman Shumpert swap happen.
  • The Lakers and Mavericks are desperately trying to put together something to get Kevin Love, but to no avail.
  • Lakers are trying to dump Pau Gasol on the Suns again. A lot of teams are trying to dump their salaries on the Suns.
  • Nets are interested in Jordan Hill.
  • Celtics trying to acquire Gordan Hayward.
Random tidbit: Brandon Knight of the Bucks cut his foot in the shower, and is now out... Your freak accident of the 2013-14 season, people!

Better now than in the playoffs.

I'd love to see Love or Rondo get moved, but probably long shot at best. If I were Phoenix, I'd consult their coach before making any moves. @Paulie, what's wrong the Farried? He's game isn't exactly complete, but is it his downside, or will he command too much money down the line?
Better now than in the playoffs.
True, but as it stands, we won't get very far anyways.

Dallas has enough defensive problems keeping Dalembert straight. I don't think it'd be wise to shop Marion when he's still able to pick up the slack. Plus, at 35, wouldn't mind seeing him & Dirk as the only remaining players of '11 Championship finish their careers here.

Getting Love will probably be impossible without the Timberwolves asking for Dirk or Ellis in exchange, or a 2-player trade for him. Or wait til' he enters free agency. I think we have a better chance at him than LA as well considering Love's comments about the Timberwolves lack of desire to win or team chemistry. The Lakers are going to be in tank mode as long as Bryant remains on the court with his fat salary. Once he's done, maybe then they can start a real rebuilding of the team. We'll be entering rebuild mode soon once Dirk's done, but we can bring in some real centerpieces as long as he & our other vets are willing to take cuts and mentor our new players. Ellis & Calderon will still be able to run the offense in that time, something Kobe won't do because Kobe will still want to play hero ball whilst his younger cast play for scrap buckets.

Just can't see Love accepting the future ahead of the Lakers, or playing with Kobe's mentality over Dirk. We can center offense around him like we do Ellis & let Dirk rest. Kobe plays second fiddle to no one.

I'd have an accident too if I played for the current Bucks team.

I don't particularly remember, he must have irked me at some point and I haven't liked him ever since. I didn't like Hansbrough either, now he's on the Raptors. I don't mind having him now.

Edit:
Mills will pick up the slack for Parker.:P

Patrick Mills scores 25pts in Parker's absence to lead the Spurs to a 113-103 victory over the Clippers. :sly:

Can someone tell me more about Marcus Thornton now that the Nets are on the verge of acquiring him?
