For anyone interested (Aussies in particular) BleacherReport has two good write-ups featuring Dante Exum, some high praise going his way. It worries me a little when they say he has knee tendonitis though.....

Edit: Another article (like many before it) on BleacherReport compares him as a best case scenario Penny Hardaway franchise leading All-Star, worst case scenario starter similar to Carter-Williams. I like those odds!

122-108 was the score as we doused the Phoenix Suns. DH12 accounted for 34 points and 14 rebounds for the Rockets. The Houston Rockets are now 33-17 on the season. They had 33 wins within 50 games about one other time in team history. Up next... the Rockets will be up in Milwaukee to take on the Bucks this Saturday.

Congratulations to all other winners from tonight's games.

The Sochi Winter Games may be on, but so still is the NBA. With the All-Star Game weekend a week away, it's time for four teams to take to the floor with two games tonight. Tonight:

* San Antonio Spurs at Brooklyn Nets
* Chicago Bulls at Golden State Warriors

Have a great day/night!

The dunk contest field has been announced, Paul George, Damian Lillard, John Wall, my man Terrence Ross, Harrison Barnes and Ben McLemore. It's a shame it's a popularity contest which gives the last three Buckley's chance.
Also, this REDICULOUS foul call turns a game from winnable to impossible, just look at the scoreline and time remaining.

Edit: Oh, and Pierre Jackson broke the D-League scoring record today. He's been lighting up D-League like a school playground yet nobody has hired him why...........because he's under 6'0?

No, it's because the Pelicans own his rights. You can't call up someone else's player, and sadly the Pelicans don't need him right now.

I know, but Pelicans don't want to trade?

The D-League team he's on can trade him, but now why would they want to do that?

Anyways, Anthony Davis is Kobe's injury replacement in the all star game. Kind of a no-brainer, he was basically supposed to be in anyways, given his season. (I really wanted it to be Dragic though..)

EDIT: Miles Plumlee will replace Pero Antic in the Rising stars challenge, so I have that going for me.

Blazers lost to Indy, in Indy, in a O/T. We choked again, but I honestly didn't think it'd get to O/T. We are going down-down-down.

The Rockets are on a Midwestern road trip- Milwaukee tonight followed by Minnesota on Monday night. At the 9-40 Milwaukee Bucks, we made the Bucks go to 9-41 with a 101-95 victory for HOU. We led by as many as about 15 or so in this game. It was a game mostly of runs. We started 7-0 before MIL had their own 7-0 run. We'll take the victory no matter how much it is.

Our remaining schedule before the All-Star Break is at Minnesota on Monday and then back home against Washington on Wednesday. After the All-Star Break, it's a five-game Western road trip taking us to California and Arizona.

Congratulations to all other winners from tonight's games.

Memphis set a NBA record last night. They won a game with the fewest FT in the Shot Clock era, going one for one (a Technical foul with 8:33 left in the 3rd) at the charity stripe, winning 79-76 over the Atlanta Hawks. According to ProBasketballTalk, only 13 teams have won a game since 1985 shooting four or fewer free throws, it simply doesn't happen very often.

Congrats anyways.

THIS JUST IN... Maurice Cheeks got fired as Detroit Pistons' coach. So we don't even reach the All-Star Break, and one coach gets 86ed. Sad break for MoTown.

Besides this, no more football to break up the basketball fun. So you all get to enjoy some NBA basketball from here until the NBA Finals. Enjoy you some NBA basketball today and tonight.

I don't really have any idea what the situation was like in MoTown, other than people saying GM Dumars is the problem, not the coach (he did put together a roster with no floor spacing).

Edit: I wouldn't want to be Philly right about now, lost 123-78 to the Clippers.

We will be returning home to Toyota Center with a 107-89 victory at the Target Center. I rarely follow Monday or Friday games, and so I didn't get to follow this game too much. The Rockets still went into Minneapolis and tamed the Timberwolves. Our final game before the All-Star Break is at home against the Washington Wizards on Wednesday night.

Congratulations to the other winners from tonight's games, including Paulie's Toronto Raptors beating Stavingo's New Orleans Pelicans in Toronto.

Oh........ Golden State 123-80 Philly 76'ers. How often does a team lose a back to back by 40+pts?

Glad the Raptors beat the Pelicans, although it was a lucky win they seemed to run out of will power at times and the flying fish eaters didn't have Jrue Holiday.

It is only the second time in NBA history that a team has lost by 40+ on back to back games. The first time was also done by the Sixers in the 1993-94 season.

Seven games on tonight. Enjoy some NBA action if your team(s) is/are playing.

And in case you are wondering, the largest margin of victory in NBA history is 68, when the Cleveland Cavaliers beat the Miami Heat 148-80 on December 17, 1991.

Andrew Bynum did this. <<< current state of the sixers

So, Anthony Bennet had 19pts and 10reb today. Good on him, maybe he's finally starting to figure things out, too bad the Cavs franchise is in a messy state of affairs.

Very good game between the Thunder and Portland last night, made even better by a Thunder win. :D Thunder bench players did very well after the poor start to the game.

OKC blows.

Did they have Kevin Martin last night? If OKC were missing Martin & Westbrook & we still lost at home, I'd re-rank Blazers to 7th place in the West.

Not to make excuse, but one fact I keep forgetting is that Blazers are readjusting right now with CJ McCollum(our top rookie) joining the rotation for the first time, ever. He's looking pretty promising, but anytime you add combo-guard to a slick & tricky offense, it'll need to be fine tuned again. I'll give my team a benefit of doubt for now....... Just be on again in a month or so.

excuses continued: We also didn't have Mo Williams from our very thin bench. Also sucks that I was informed by my boss at work this morning we lost Joel Freeland. He's been a decent backup, so I really hope it's not season-ending.

Kevin Martin is in Minnesota.

On the flip side, no one really expected Portland to be this high up so be proud of that. And it wasn't their fault Reggie Jackson is a better fit than Westbrook.

When Jeremy Lamb is playing well, like he did last night, he is pretty much a better fit for OKC than Kevin Martin. Lamb's offensive game is not as good as Martin's. However, his defense is tremendously better, which is not really saying much, as Kevin Martin is not a good defender.

It also helped that Derek Fisher played well last night. He has been very good the last few weeks in his limited minutes.

Joel Freeland suffered a sprained MCL and is expected to be out 4-8 weeks.

More Excuse: I'm old.

Says the Suns fan.👍
Love you man, and I know I've been hiding it very well, but I hate your team.

They are more than holding up well, but still need Westbrook to be one of the three contenders if you ask me. Four, if we count San Antonio(surprise me again Timmy!). Very glad to hear about Freeland. I hope he's in Blazers jersey his next game!

Tight fit, but we'll take the 113-112 victory over the Washington Wizards. Leading by as many as 19 in this game, the Wizards made us earn the victory. Former Rocket Trevor Ariza was possessed by demons as he went on a hellacious three-point shooting barrage to get WAS back into the game in the 3rd Quarter. This eventual nail-biter resulted in the Rockets winning on a clutch two-pointer by James Harden. Harden saved our butts as we now head into the All-Star Break having won seven straight games.

The Houston Rockets will head into the All-Star Break with a 36-17 record and seven straight wins. How are your boys doing heading into the All-Star Break? Congratulations to all other winners from tonight's games.

[UPDATE] This game was here in Houston, by the way. Forgot to mention that in my little report.

Did somebody say Kevin Durant was the best player in Basketball? Please.

I know Spoelstra isn't the best coach in basketball...... In a late game situation you have a chance to win or send to overtime by drawing up a good play with a time-out for a high percentage look. Spoelstra, on the other hand, chooses to do nothing and let Lebron take a tough, step-back fadeaway contested 3. 98 times out of 100 you just lost the game.........
