Not really, Rugby and Aussie Rules Football are the big players.

The NBL doesn't seem overly popular but I regularly go down to a bunch of local courts and they're always busy, a lot of players all who are NBA fans. Everywhere I go I see people wearing NBA jerseys also, I think it is fairly popular just not so public. Rugby isn't too popular here though Cricket is (along with Aussie rules). That's pretty much the way it is in SA at least.

I always said that firing Avery Johnson was the biggest mistake this clown franchise has done.
At least they made up for it with the hiring of Jason Kidd. I hope this trend does not end after this season. I think KG & Pierce had something like 6 points a piece & Deron Williams I think was the "Player of the Game" with 12 & 3. I wish all these super teams played more like the Nets. :P

I like you a6m5. But I'm giving you a technical foul for saying Jason Kidd is a make up of sorts. No I think that's one of the dumber moves by the organization.

How do you know me this long & not know that I'm Captain Sarcasm! Kidd used to be a great player, but I've never liked him for his homewrecking ways(both in & outside the NBA!). Sadly, nobody can keep coaching that bad & even if he's fired, another team will give him a second chance down the line.

Thank you Wizards for beating the Raptors!:D

Now Chicago just has to steal a win in Dallas. Last time we played we got ran out the gym, but then again so did the Nuggets and Warriors and we walloped them.

Flipping figures. I was hoping he'd go to the Spurs.

Danny Granger will sign with the Clippers after being bought out by the Sixers, according to multiple reports.
The Indianapolis Star and Yahoo Sports both reported Thursday that Granger, who was traded by Indiana to Philadelphia prior to last week’s trade deadline, has decided to sign with L.A. after receiving interest from a number of teams. NBA.comreported this week that Houston, Chicago, Miami and San Antonio were also interested in his services. link
I hope he's no help at all now!

Basketball certainly is popular here, but one can't argue the fact it seems to take a back seat to other sports. Aussie Rules is a lot bigger in Southern states, Rugby is a lot bigger in Northern states. I don't know where cricket ranks any more, people talk about it but don't seem to really follow it much less play it.

Edit: So Jimmer Fredette is a free agent now? Interesting, I still feel he could be a solid back-up point guard.

I think my Bulls are gonna lose another one to your Mavs Mclaren. For some reason the Mavs just present all sorts of problems in match ups to the Bulls.

So Caron Butler will go to the Thunder after he clears waivers... Clips and Thunder have Crazy depth now.
And also, Jimmer FRedette may go to the Bulls.

Nope, and now they're level with the Raptors.

Happy for Butler to have a much better team again. Not happy it's the Thunder. :P

MoTown meets H-Town. From wire-to-wire (or flag-to-flag for you racing fans), we beat the Detroit Pistons 118-110. Detroit's losing streak on the road continues with this latest fail by the Pistons. The Houston Rockets are glad to be home again after that tough five-game road trip. They come back home leading by as much as 25 in this game. The Rockets were basically clowning the Pistons by dunking on them time and time again (at least according to the radio broadcast of this game). Good game for the most part for us despite Detroit mounting that 2nd Half rally. So on the birthday of Clutch (Houston Rockets' mascot), we get ourselves a win. I think our next match is on Tuesday with the Miami Heat coming to Houston.

Congratulations to all other winners of today's games. So what did your boys do tonight (if they played)?

I like the new Bulls shirts. Though it could be because they are currently demolishing the Knicks.

Edit: What's this? The Knicks are fighting back? Let's see how long this lasts.

Good.

Hate those shirts. They look like toddler clothes. They have that "last decade" fashion thing going, except in fashion, people didn't know how bad until they moved on. In these NBA shirts, people are fully aware they don't like these fugly things, but NBA's keep trying very hard to shove them down our throats.

Maybe not for the two minutes out of five minute playing time Miami Heat center gets.....

Edit: 13-12-14. Really!?

Yep. And Miami wishes they had Noah. Him and Lebron can make a really deadly combo. His passing skills are top notch.

And Oden is a scrub. He looks like Lebron's dad.

Still trying to get over 14 assists.

The offense really runs through him now. With Rose out of the picture, the Bulls really inverted how an offense should work. It's the complete antithesis to Miami where the big men are the primary initiators of scoring. To go along with Noah's assist numbers is Taj's scoring numbers, and since the All Star break he's been the usual suspect in scoring.

Rose should retire, just like Brandon Roy..

Joakim Noah's game is like playing a big man in NBA 2K MyCareer.

Re: Griffin. Wow. How could he not shoot it?

YEAH, Raptors beat the Warriors today, DeRozan dropping a steady 32pts on 10/16 shooting. What was really encouraging was Fields getting to play in Ross' absence and playing well for the first time this season.

BTW, does Noah's 14ast even count against the Knicks? I think the Knicks are one of the biggest jokes defensively I've ever seen. It doesn't matter who you pass to, he's going to be open! Nice game for Noah though (DAMN IT!).
