Bulls face off against the Nets tonight, and with the way we have been playing, it should be another W. Expect 3rd place in the East to go back and forth between the Bulls and the Raps from now til the end.

Was browsing through the forums and stumbled here. Was hard to find, but glad I did. Love ball so lookin foward to talking hoops with you guys.

(Sorry to butt in...)

Noticed Bulls fan(s) and Raptors fan(s). Bulls just straight-up blue-collar beat teams down and hope that the Raptors can build. And DeRozan isnt the next Vince, TMac, or Bosh. Id be interesting to see who finishes 1-2 and 3-4. Eastern Conf semis would be nice to see Bulls-Heat and Pacers-Raptors. I think those are the Bulls and Raptors best matchups.

The east is 4 teams solid, that's it!

Probably should mention I am a LeBron fan have been since his HS days. But I just love the game...

I wish I could say the same for the West. The teams making it in the east are practically set in stone, while the West is a dogfight. 6th-9th place is anyone's taking from GS, PHX, DAL, and MEM. To an extent, the top 9 can be drastically altered with just a 2-3 game winning/losing streak for any team.

Yeah the West is dominant as it has been for much too long. Phoenix is definitley my surprise team Goran Dragic is unstoppable and they dont even have Bledsoe. Probably wont make much noise in the playoffs though same with Memphis. But I could see 6 teams maybe coming out of the West: Thunder, Clippers, Rockets, Spurs, Warriors, and Portland. Obviously they are gonna beat up on each other. I do think that Indiana and Miami are the best teams and Chicago can make some noise.

Don't count your wins (and turnovers) before they hatch.

In the West, I still doubt the Blazers' chances & OKC to me is the favorite. I really like Spurs, but they've shown struggles against tops teams. Clippers I think have the potential to be better than OKC with Doc Rivers & their mad depth, but along with teams like the Warriors, they could run into health issues(I can only hope :P). I'm with JLG in thinking Indiana & Miami's the two overall favorites.

Blazers gonna beat the Lakers tonight.

:P

I also believe the Thunder to be the favorites in the West. Following OKC is the Spurs and the Clippers, especially if Danny Granger and Glen Davis become solid contributors, as their depth was lacking. Portland has an outside shot, but I think their depth and defense are not going to be good enough come playoffs. However, I think Portland is going to be a very tough opponent for at least one of those three in the West. I do not see Houston or Golden State being contenders, though they could also prove challenging. The other two teams that make it, be it two of the following three: Phoenix, Dallas, or Memphis, could be frisky and somewhat difficult.

The East is going to come down to whoever wins between Indiana and Miami. The rest of that conference is not good enough to contend. Chicago can be difficult because of their coaching and intense defense, but that team is not able to generate enough offense when needed. Toronto is a nice team, but remind me of last year's Denver. Some good players, but no superstar and thus little chance.

Yeah, certainly no easy teams in the West. If healthy, I think Golden State can surprise you. Houston, as it stands, I think are thin. Same with my Blazers, and I totally agree with you Brett on the defense. Also, I love Lillard, but that kid plays defense like I did in my 30's. In my 20's, nobody got by me. Years later, I turned my head a lot at quicker kids going right around me. What reach-in? lol
Blazers gonna beat the Lakers tonight.

:P
Now Blazers are absolutely getting their ass kicked. I blame you for trapping me Blitz!

Of course. It's my fault. You make bold bragging statement to set yourself up to fail and this is my fault. What planet are we on?

Should I be inserting *this is a joke* disclaimer? Come on now......

Just noticed that Philadelphia lost 14 games in a row. The record for the longest losing streak in NBA history is 26, set by the 2010-11 Cavaliers.

Yes, since you took my joke seriously this has blown up in your face .
Yeah, that'll teach silly me. Good one!👍

26........ That is so many.

Edit: Dang.... I just got back, turned on the TV & Blazers are still down. I honestly thought they'd be up by double digit. :ouch:

Edit2: 107-106 Lakers. God, that game winning alley-hoop by the Lakers was kick ass. 👍

Portland go boom. So now we have seen 0 for 2 tonight. I think predictions may not be your cup of tea. Well unless you are predicting the sun to rise tomorrow and the Knicks to lose to any team by double digits, including a JV High School team.

@Blitz24 Are we still talking about that "prediction" that ended with ":P" at the end?

:P

I did think the Blazers would win, all the way until the end. Much props to the Lakers & again, that well timed & executed alley-hoop! We didn't make that one easy...

G'day and welcome to the GTP street courts! I agree DeRozan is no Vince or TMac, but I kind of think he's better than Bosh, or at least in the same conversation. Heat are my secondary team since my brother, like you, is a Lebron fan.

I blame farmer Paulie for growing bad chickens...

If it's any consolation, had it meant beating the Nets I would rather have seen the Bulls take 3rd place outright and beat Brooklyn in to submission.

Aww YEAH! That was a hell of a game, so good to watch.

I think the players formed a pact to not play any defense last night...they must have been thinking about National Pancake Day!!

@Paulie Raptors have a fun team to watch. Ross is yet another talented swing man and Kyle Lowry could be the one of the most underrated PGs.

*I like DeRozan I basically meant, comparing him to Vince and TMac, that he gives the Franchise hope and then bails.

A number of the Rockets' opponents the next two weeks will be a real gut check for them heading into postseason play. It begins tonight with a back-to-back against both of the NBA's Florida teams. We're hosting Omnis' Miami Heat followed by a game tomorrow night at the Orlando Magic (Dwight Howard's former team). Rockets have to head to Miami later this month to take on the Heat in South Beach.

There are still a number of weeks left in the season. It's all about playoff positioning for current playoff teams and still ample chances to get in for those outside-looking-in teams. So keep pressing forward!

Of course... good luck to all of your teams.

Keep calm and carry on... beating the Heat. Yep. We did it! Good grief! The Miami Heat (I believe) never led us all game long. There were ties, but we won 106-103. The Rockets' lead was by as much as 15 before the likes of K. Beasley kept things interesting for the boys from Miami. Any time you can beat a team like the Miami Heat, you'll take it. Huge test for the Rockets, and they passed with... I'll say A-. Up next- at the Magic. Dwight Howard will face another one of his former teams. I remember D12 being beast on my Rockets when he was rocking Orlando colors.

Congratulations to all other winners from tonight's games.

Matt Barnes single-handedly destroyed the Suns, and they were never able to recover. If Memphis beats the Nets tomorrow, PHX will slip to 9, with Golden State leapfrogging over Phoenix and Dallas with the win against Indy. :scared:

bledsoe when are you coming back we need you

The 76ers are not a good basketball team. I think saying they are below average could be insulting to other truly below average teams. That is pretty much all I could take from last night game when they played the Thunder.

LeBron didnt have it last night. No excuses, Spo shouldnt have left him in after he missed his 1st 3 in the 4th against the Bobcats.

DWade played well and nice to see Beasley get going, he could be big for them in the playoffs.

@Brett They are in for the Jabari Parker sweepstakes, which means lose...MCW is their only bright spot right now.

Sleepwalking for most of the game, the Rockets woke up trailing by as many as 14 at the Orlando Magic. The bear trap set by the Orlando Magic worked for only so long. I knew I heard of Orlando beating Oklahoma City earlier this season in Orlando. We got our heads together and pulled out the 101-89 win. A big factor in this win was the Rockets coming out swinging to start the 3rd Quarter. The Rockets sweep the Magic.

Up next... back home in H-Town at Toyota Center to host the Indiana Pacers in a nationally-televised game. Last time, the Pacers were fed a can of whoop-ass on us in Indianapolis. We're hoping to return the favor by beating them here with Luis Scola (former Rocket) comes to town.

Congratulations to all other winners up to and beyond the time of this post.

True. He is a nice (underrated) two-way wing player.

Nerlens Noel and a homerun in the draft could be a good start, especially in the east!

True, people easily forget about Nerlens Noel, he may still become a Marcus Camby type player in the NBA. Let's predict MCW continues to develop and they draft a solid wing like Jabari or Wiggins and hey presto, they have the building blocks to make a good team.

Edit: I was just reading up on this site that for 2014 being such a deep draft, they have quite a few draft picks in the upcoming draft! In few years they're bound to have struck luck with some of them, they could become a great team.
