Yeah that would make things interesting!

But as we both know its all about the benjamins, baby.
Exactly. Business side is WAY too heavy in this league for lot of the fans. I'd love to see Adam Silver balance it out more, but like you said....... benjamins.

What a great moment for Joakim Noah when they interviewed his Dad and he gets 1-on-1 w Lebron. D's him up, gets the loose ball and then gets fouled on the other end, hard earned.

Just as they asked his Dad about Joakim's work and his Dad gave such a genuine cheer for his son. Great moment!

Then LeBron a few plays later threw down a monster dunk then him and Jimmy Butler get into it. Getting interesting...

Edit: and the Bulls score 2 points in the final 5:30 of the 1st half (Noah left hook). They need Rose or someone who can create shots with the ball. 'Melo on this team would sure add to the LeBron-Melo "rivalry" especially on the Bulls.

Edit 2

OT! Game of the year so far?

Yep, game of the year :D @JLG_GT

Butler completely owned James too in the closing moments of the game.
Yep gotta give up the props to Butler...Noah and Taj were beast. Miami has no answer for the Bulls intensity.

LeBron plays that way too! He drives me crazy when he just plays for the jumper and then complains when he goes to the rim. And looks around...both teams are all over the officials, but LeBron is almost doing it before the play is over.

I like Kobe, but that's just too much.👍

Edit: Blazers could never beat the Rockets. Tonight, they blew the lead as Houston forced the O/T & we lose in overtime. Well..... we usually don't even get the O/T against this team, so it is what it is. Plus LaMarcus still hasn't been the same(that's my excuse). :D

With the Rockets' offense stuck in the mud most of the game with bad officiating... and we still managed to win 118-113 in Overtime. Damn! Even winning ugly games makes you feel beautiful inside. Houston trailed by as many as 13 points as they were letting Portland come into our house and slap us around. The Rockets once again manned up, owned up, and won. All important here for us was that the Rockets own the tie-breaker against the Trail Blazers.

Up next, we're on the road for three games against three other GTPlaneteers' teams. Here it is: at Brett's Thunder in Oklahoma City on Tuesday, at sumbrownkid's Bulls on Thursday night, and at Omnis' Miami Heat on Sunday. I'll really be surprised if we come off this road trip with a winning record. It will be snowing in Hell if the Rockets sweep the road trip with wins.

Congratulations to all other winners from today and tonight.

It was bad, but it was bad both ways. Although we lost, I consider it fair. Also, it was somewhat physical game, and there were lot of hustles(a good thing), so it wasn't the easiest game to officiate tonight anyway.

OKC laying out those bricks tonight.

But, not to fear as the Heat & the Pacers also lost. Pacers kind of gave my Mavs the win, though, because there was some terrible ball being played. And even though a6m5's Trailblazers lost, he still has San Antonio to keep routing for; they now have the best win percentage at .742.

Lowry got a triple double and DeRozan, despite playing with a lot of foul trouble in the 2nd half scored 25pts and 7reb as Raptors took down the Wolves. You think the least the Heat could do would be reward the Raptors by beating the Bulls for a 1 game swing.:sly: We play the Nets tomorrow who are thankfully also on a back-to-back, but I doubt their game today (a blowout vs Kings) was as intense as the Raptors vs the Wolves.
Edit: Oh, and add in the fact our 6th man Patrick Patterson is out with an elbow strain, some of the rotations get a little ugly with Patterson missing.

Nets have no Pierce or AK. Going to be even matched.

We love our Mr. Fundamental, but that whole team is professional basketball consistency. Of course, lot of writers have questioned their ability, as they lost many games to elite teams, but then we saw what that tired, old team did to Miami in the Finals last year. I REALLY hope they shock us again, and maybe follow thru this time.

I think Miami slipped away with their 2nd win because they had the benefit of Harden 2.0 going into effect; Ginobili looked like a rookie out there whilst Duncan looked like he was still playing of his previous Championships caliber.

It really, really, really pained me to see that. Mid-2000's, he was my favorite (active)player in the whole league. :guilty:

Manu didn't just disappear, he was absolutely horrid in that series. I think I'll go cry myself to sleep now, thinking about that Game 6. Thanks Mac.

The NBA Fan Night Game of the Week this week is...

...the Houston Rockets at the Oklahoma City Thunder!

We called it "Hell Week" with the tough games coming up on our schedule. This one is going to be tough: at Brett's Thunder tonight, at the Bulls as part of NBA on TNT this week, and at the Heat on Sunday. I'll be surprised if we get through this stretch with a winning record; even more so if by the grace of God, if win all three games.

But, NBA fans want to see what Rockets can do against a tough Thunder team. OKC is still plenty talented. I don't have CSN Houston, so I'll likely listen to SportsTalk 790 here in Houston to hear the game on the radio.

Enjoy this game and all the other games slated for tonight.

Houston is playing their best ball of the season and in the league at this point. Miami is struggling, maybe a day off or two for LeBron. OKC is struggling cant play any Defense and I cant see the Bulls scoring with Houston especially after the emotional win vs the Heat.

I think they will be at least 2-1. They are going to be a team everyone wants to avoid come playoff time. Great watch also!

It would not at all surprise if the Thunder lose tonight. They have been playing badly as of late and I would expect that to continue tonight. They will turn it around at some point, but I do not believe that night is tonight.

I think the Bulls can stop anyone, they have to find production on offense. I think this will be their biggest challenge in a 7game series. Is there a chance for DRose returning?

I'm taking the Rockets kind of like how I've taken my Texans in the 2011 and 2012 seasons. I mean- the Rockets are talented, but I just don't look at the 2013-2014 Rockets them and think of them as waltzing into the NBA Finals and getting their third O'Brien trophy in franchise history. This is a great-looking Rockets team for the most part. Are they the Clutch City Rockets of the mid-1990s? Not really. The one thing I just hope is that the Rockets can play this intense for when it's playoffs time. This stretch is good; just bring this brand of winning basketball to the postseason.

Speaking of postseason, a few teams already clinched playoff berths by now. So those already in are just playing for playoff positioning. Again- I'm proud of my Rockets this season. After seeing woeful seasons by my Texans and Astros, as a native Houstonian, I'm proud that at least one Houston team is doing my hometown proud. I am just cautious in thinking this team can become NBA champs. Otherwise, I'm all in with my Rockets. All in, all the way.

D Rose is done for the year, and to be honest that's the best decision. It's not like Chicago has any realistic chance of topping Miami in a seven game series. Though I do think they can topple Indiana.

Edit: I think it's safe to say Chicago ain't gonna bottle that San Antonio offense. In fact, I think Chicago used up all the good basketball against Miami.

Rockets failed. Thunder won 106-98 in Oklahoma City. The Rockets finally woke up in the 2nd Half even with nearly stagnant offense. If the Rockets end up playing OKC in the playoffs, they had BETTER figure them out if they want to stay in the playoffs. That's why I say- thank goodness the Thunder aren't in our division because I'd hate for my Rockets to have to play them more often than not. Oklahoma City is an elite and are too damned powerful at home, so I'm not entirely disappointed. Still, we failed; and that five-game winning streak is snapped. Whether or not we get on a losing skid or start a new winning trend depends on how we do up in the Midwest on National TV when the Rockets play at the Chicago Bulls on Thursday Night.

Cheers and much respect to all other winners from tonight's games.

I did not really expect that result with how the Thunder have been playing. The Rockets, Patrick Beverley in particular, were testy last night. However, Beverley's friskiness backfired and Westbrook ended up abusing the guy. Oh and that Kevin Durant fellow is pretty good also.

I also forgot to mention the outstanding play of Steven Adams. The big Kiwi battled all night with Dwight Howard. Adams held up admirably and Howard managed to score just nine points.

Is Dwight Howard ever going to put it together? He is probably physically more gifted than LeBron (nowhere near as athletic) and maybe anyone the league has seen. He has made Houston a top 3 defense but stats get thrown out the window in hoops. Can it translate to winning playoff series?

I hope so I like Houston's squad. I also think they made the right move by not goving up Parsons for Rondo.

@Brett No offense to The Big Kiwi but you are right he held is own. More than held is own. But Howard should never be owned by one mid-level guy...just my opinion.

I do not disagree that Howard should not get owned by a rookie or really any player for that matter based on his physical gifts. However, Adams has a knack for getting under opposing players' skin and Howard has shown that other players can get to him. Kendrick Perkins has been able to do some of the same kind of things to Howard. Between Adams knack for rustling jimmies and stealing a page from Perk's playbook on guarding Howard, The Big Kiwi really got to Dwight last night. I doubt it would always be that way in a playoff series, but one or two nights of that kind of performance would make a huge difference.
