Good points.I do not disagree that Howard should not get owned by a rookie or really any player for that matter based on his physical gifts. However, Adams has a knack for getting under opposing players' skin and Howard has shown that other players can get to him. Kendrick Perkins has been able to do some of the same kind of things to Howard. Between Adams knack for rustling jimmies and stealing a page from Perk's playbook on guarding Howard, The Big Kiwi really got to Dwight last night. I doubt it would always be that way in a playoff series, but one or two nights of that kind of performance would make a huge difference.
Howard seems to only "show up" on an inconsistent level. Sometimes I just want to go out there and get him mad. But he isnt that kind of player like you said. I see similarities in Blake Griffin but he is getting better. If Blake can improve his Jumper than Dwight can improve something. He has always been able to get by with his size and raw talent. Guess thats the difference between being good and being great.
