I do not disagree that Howard should not get owned by a rookie or really any player for that matter based on his physical gifts. However, Adams has a knack for getting under opposing players' skin and Howard has shown that other players can get to him. Kendrick Perkins has been able to do some of the same kind of things to Howard. Between Adams knack for rustling jimmies and stealing a page from Perk's playbook on guarding Howard, The Big Kiwi really got to Dwight last night. I doubt it would always be that way in a playoff series, but one or two nights of that kind of performance would make a huge difference.
Good points.

Howard seems to only "show up" on an inconsistent level. Sometimes I just want to go out there and get him mad. But he isnt that kind of player like you said. I see similarities in Blake Griffin but he is getting better. If Blake can improve his Jumper than Dwight can improve something. He has always been able to get by with his size and raw talent. Guess thats the difference between being good and being great.

The Suns have forgotten how to play defense. All of their opponents last week shot better than 50%. That will not get you to the playoffs.

EDIT: P.J tucker sums up how most suns fans felt after that.

Must've sucked for him to only watch because he basically is the suns defense.

March Madness not only applies to college, but it also applies to the NBA, especially as the weeks of the regular season wind down. Ready to entertain your Thursday are three games. Which six teams will battle tonight? These:

* Houston Rockets at Chicago Bulls (NBA on TNT)
* Milwaukee Bucks at Atlanta Hawks
* Los Angeles Lakers at Oklahoma City Thunder (NBA on TNT)

Enjoy some Thursday night hoops!

Wow David Stern really did the Bulls a solid with this March scheduling, he left Adam Silver the luxury of dealing with Coach Thibs.

Whats the over/under on OKC v. The Lakers!? 300 points?

* @JohnBM01 speaking of March Madness (a bit off topic) I started a thread for a college hoops GTP bracket challenge if you or anyone else are interested.

On the topic of Howard, he hasn't been the same since the injury & the trade drama. Hopefully, another season or so will get him right back into rhythm.

OKC vs LA tonight, OKC coming out for revenge unless the power of Meeks is unleashed again. :D

Brooklyn beat Miami.... again for the 3rd time this year.

Chicago did too a couple years and then got bounced in the playoffs. I hope the same does not happen to them, but I wouldn't doubt it.

@JLG_GT: I'm not sure Stern did us a solid because the teams we have been playing so far are all playoff contenders. Meanwhile Toronto is playing NCAA teams. I personally think if they had our schedule, they would be 6th-7th seed at best.

And I think the Bulls are gonna get demolished by the Rockets tonight. That team is just our boogeyman for the past couple seasons.

M:censored:f:censored:ing bulls:censored:!!! EVERYTHING dropped for Chicago while Houston can't hit s:censored:. Almost like the Rockets left their offense in Oklahoma City in a game the Rockets could have easily won. And nothing makes me happier (as in wanting to break something) than seeing my beloved team(s) fail with ease on national TV. Teams win and teams lose, but this was f:censored:ing sad. Stuck on 42 points for most of the 3rd Quarter. Unacceptable. End result- an epic f:censored:ing fail by the Rockets. Like, a 111-87 fail. Oh, well... you win so many games that you're bound to eventually become road kill.

I even got on Twitter saying this:

"Did the @HoustonRockets forget their offense in Oklahoma City? Are the Rockets wearing the Bulls jerseys? This is pathetic..."

Teams are going to have good and bad games. It's all about what you can consistently do. Enjoy your freaking Big Macs with the 100+ point performance, Chi-Town. Don't forget that I mentioned I wouldn't be surprised if the Rockets didn't escape this road trip with a winning record, so I really shouldn't rage this much. There's just a difference between losing games you could have won or could have played much better, and then losing a game where you did everything you could to win but eventually lose. The former described this one for the Rockets. We're now 44-21 on the season.

I found out the game at Miami is part of a back-to-back. We're at Miami (likely our 3rd straight loss) on Sunday followed by a game hosting Utah on Monday night back in Houston. Congrats to the other winners of tonight's games.

Didnt see that one coming. Bulls were balling last night, off night for Houston. One-Eyed Dunleavy had a nice second half.

Coach Thibodeau should be coach of the year. @sumbrownkid Congrats.

Neither Rockets at Bulls or Lakers at Thunder were exciting NBA on TNT contests. My Rockets failed 111-87 at Chicago, and the Lakers got slapped around 131-102 at Oklahoma City. In fact, all three games last night were won by the Home team. The only competitive score was the Atlanta Hawks beating Milwaukee 102-97.

A lot of games on tap for tonight. My Rockets won't play until Sunday afternoon on national TV, when we'll be hosted by the Miami Heat. I'm expecting a third-straight loss at the Heat unless divine intervention happens in the Rockets' favor. Now for a quick assessment of my boys...

I mentioned I'm proud of my Rockets. Part of sports is about what you can do consistently or regularly. Even the best of teams slip up or have off-games. My words have been minimal in describing the level of talent the Rockets have. I think the Rockets are a championship team. The biggest woes for them mostly involves their turnover-prone ways and sometimes shaky offensive execution. All the bricks the Rockets were tossing up last night at Chicago is what could happen when the offense just stalls or fails to execute. You certainly feel bad when it seems like the other team has everything go their way while you're still trying to find yourself. After the debacles the Rockets have had lately, they don't have to soul search too deeply to regain their winning form. But at the same time, you don't want to fall behind too much to where you've reached your peak and become a shadow of your former self. The Rockets are dangerous. Whether or not they can be NBA champions depends on continually playing winning basketball. For us Houston Rockets fans, almost 20 years is a long time since our last championship.

Enjoy this weekend's games. And if you want to assess your team(s), or another team, then go right ahead.

Great 4th quarter by the Raptors seals a good win against the hot Grizzlies, Raptors are the best 4th quarter team in the NBA by some margin this season (+2.7pts plays Miami's 2nd best +1.9pts).

Today is Blake Griffin's 25th birthday. I am pretty sure he'll celebrate it by dunking on people.

Both Milwaukee and Philadelphia lost last night. MIL got smacked up at New York, and PHI tied their franchise record for most losses in a row with their 20th straight loss. Who do you think will finish with the better record- Milwaukee, Philadelphia, or maybe they'll share the same record?

Enjoy another Sunday of NBA hoops.

Damn Raptors lost to the Suns, the bench didn't show up at all but all the starters seemed to play well. I didn't know Bledsoe was back playing.

I am using my tablet PC, so I may edit this post.

Anyhow, the Rockets went blow-for-blow at Miami, but our road trip ends up being a losing one. 113-104 was how much Miami beat the Houston Rockets. We never led in the first half. Some pathetic calls were made, including a dumb ass Delay of Game on HOU that brought our 4-point lead down to 3. Regardless, we failed. Three straight losses and a winless road trip. Yay. I predicted this would be a loss anyways.

Up next for H-Town... the conclusion of this back-to-back tomorrow night hosting the Utah Jazz.

The Raptors and Bulls are going blow for blow at the moment, winning and losing together.

Hope you had a great St. Patrick's Day!

We lost bad at Oklahoma City, at Chicago, and at Miami in our most recent road trip. So how do you bounce back after a brutal road trip? Take your aggressions out on the Utah Jazz. That's what the Rockets did in a 124-86 rout.

Elsewhere...

* The following teams have *officially* been eliminated from playoff contention: Los Angeles Lakers, Sacramento Kings, Utah Jazz, and Milwaukee Bucks.

* Currently, these teams are in the playoffs: Indiana Pacers and Miami Heat.

Congratulations to all winners from tonight's games.

Typical Bulls loss. Defense was there, but offense was missing in action.
Did the Bulls drop one against OKC tonight, Bulls fan #1? Boo-hoo, cry me a river........ Join the club(pretty much the whole league).

:P

Don't tell Brett OKC isn't special. ;) The fans want action. The fans want excitement. The fans voted tonight to see...

...Toronto Raptors at Atlanta Hawks!

So NBA TV will give Paulie's Raptors some face time when the Raps head down to the ATL. There are four other games on tap for tonight as well. They include:

* Miami Heat at Cleveland Cavaliers
* Milwaukee Bucks at Portland Trail Blazers
* Washington Wizards at Sacramento Kings
* Orlando Magic at Golden State Warriors

Even though March Madness begins tonight, the NBA manufactures its own madness, at least for tonight. Go enjoy some NBA hoops tonight.

Where do they find these NBA refs? The officiating in the Raptors-Hawks game today was pretty awful (being a Raptors fan I'll say my team got the dirtier end of that stick, Hawks fans will tell you otherwise). Still, nowhere near as bad as my local league where the refs don't try and officiate, they just pick which team they like more and play 7 on 5.

Edit: What the hell is with the Raptors tonight? Doing one retarded thing after another. No wonder they lost.

All your teams suck. My Blazers forced overtime against the Bucks. At (our)home. We rule, and we may even beat that beast of a team.

Edit: We beat Milwaukee in a o/t. God, we've been getting rattled pretty good, lately. Ever since LaMarcus got hurt, it was right before the All-Star break, we've been struggling, but I guess that's to be expected.

We may get back in the swing of things by April, but we still don't have defense, so....
