@a6m5: Bulls and Portland don't suck, by no means.:)

Portland though just matches up with the Bulls very well without Rose. Thankfully Chicago plays sub .500 teams rest of the season so Toronto better not get too confident in keeping third.

Well, above average, but both teams are far from being complete. I'm in the "contend, or bust" mood. :lol:

Somebody told me that Blazer also have easier schedule to conclude the regular season....... We need it. :crazy:

After beating Philadelphia this past Thursday, here's a stat I learned of- we beat Eastern Conference teams 15-0 at home this regular season. Unbeaten against Eastern Conference teams this season. That includes the likes of Miami and Indiana among others.

No Patrick Beverley. No Dwight Howard. Blake Griffin gets dinged up early in the game. UGLY leading into this game and going into this game. And in the end... the Rockets did not get win number 50 on this night. We failed 118-107 as the Clippers swept us in the season. If the Rockets end up playing against the Clippers in the playoffs, I only hope the Rockets find some sort of way to knock off the Clip Joint in the playoffs. The Rockets led by as many as 15 early on. LAC led 61-58 at the half. The Clippers would clinch a playoff berth either by beating my Rockets or if the Mavericks lost. As for the Rockets, we'll have to try again next time to get our golden (50th) win of the season.

Up next for the Rockets is a two-game back-to-back road trip... at the Brooklyn Nets on Tuesday and at Paulie's Toronto Raptors on Wednesday. Hopefully, we don't get fooled on April Fool's Day trying to get win No. 50 at Brooklyn.

Elsewhere...

* People predicted the Philadelphia 76ers would beat the Detroit Pistons to avoid losing their 27th straight. Well... with authority, Philadelphia won 123-98 in Philly. Where the hell was this offense during the losing streak?

Teams IN the playoffs so far:
* Toronto Raptors
* Indiana Pacers
* Chicago Bulls
* Miami Heat
* Oklahoma City Thunder
* San Antonio Spurs
* Los Angeles Clippers

Congratulations to all winners from tonight's games up to and beyond the time of this post.

I'm watching Blazers (so far)beating Memphis....... They are actually playing little bit of defense. Maybe they can just "turn it on" come post season?

I doubt it. We are playing Memphis, they are neither offensive powerhouse, nor athletically gifted that way.....
I agree whole heartedly!:sly:
You goober. :lol:

The Blazers better beat Memphis for us Suns! :P
I want the Suns stay at 7th, because as much fun as it would be to go against the Spurs again, they're the Spurs.... they get possessed by some demonic basketball entity every time they're in the playoffs.

EDIT: as of now suns are having their 🤬 handed to them.. By the Lakers.. So that Portland win was well needed.

Well, Portland won....... barely. :crazy: Good luck Suns..... not really, you guys have our number.

Heh, Nets, Bulls and Raptors all won today, looks like we have ourselves a good-old fashioned Mexican stand-off, with 3rd place in the middle. The rest of this week is where the Bulls can put a stamp on 3rd, while they're playing mediocre teams the Raptors will face Miami tomorrow in the 2nd game of a back-to-back before playing the Rockets and Pacers aftwards, three tough games and three probable losses. A single win in the next three games would be a huge unexpected bonus.

The Nets still need to win tomorrow against Houston. Or if the Knicks lose one game at one point for the rest of the year.

Its hard to believe that the nets are challenging for the third playoff spot considering how bad they looked at the beginning of the season. I wish my Knicks were playing that well. My only for them is that they make it to the 8th spot so Denver doesn't get a lottery pick.

Yep, forget about the race for third, Chicago has that wrapped up. The Heat took first today and the Pacers are looking like they may not even make the ECF.

Dallas needs to slot itself into the 8th seed. The Clippers & Paul know how to completely tear our defense apart & I'd rather us not go against The Servant & his unrealistically high number of fouls he will surely coax out of the refs as he always does.

San Antonio is a team full of vets & youngsters much like our own which is why we've always been able to handle them.

Too many injuries, too poor execution, damned f:censored:ing shame. We couldn't shoot the ball into the freaking Atlantic Ocean. Damned disappointed. Win No. 50 will have to wait as the Rockets failed 105-96 at Brooklyn. Also, our 15-game winning streak against the Nets is snapped. This also keeps the Nets' home winning streak going strong. So up next is the Rockets is a trip to Toronto in this back-to-back. If the Rockets play like this at Toronto tomorrow night, this will put a real dent into the Rockets' confidence moving forward. Hell, we could possibly drop to 5th in the West.

Can't win 'em all, but this is a damned shame even with the injuries on the Rockets' front. The Nets also pick up a playoff berth. So they're in... at our expense. Yay. Happy now, Nets?

Nets will get run out if the Playoffs start today. Chicago has become a strong team behind Noah & if (a gigantic, hypothetical if) Rose does return, it'd be a giant boost to them.

Edit* I can ignore the Dirk/Klay deal that happened because calls were missed both ways, but the refs. easily just 🤬 us over with the no goaltending call. :grumpy:

Well @JohnBM01, after losing to the Nets the least Houston could do is lose to the Raptors as well with all the winning Bulls and Nets are doing.:sly: I can see Raptors dropping to 5th yet as well, I almost can't see them maintaining 3rd, 4th is up in the air now.

Boy, that's a tough one to call. From that video, it looked like it could go either way, but the angle sucks & too much distance to tell.

Idk but even the announcer said it wasn't called. Someone else also pointed out that O'Neal technically traveled as well when he had landed with possession & took another 2 steps.

He's got bum knees mang, give that to him.<<<Jermaine Fanboy

Yeah, on the steps, you can see that part pretty clearly.

Well, we just did that "least we could do"- another fail for the Rockets. Can't win in the United States, and another trip to Canada didn't help the losing woes. What this win is showing is just how important it is for the Rockets to have those key players who were out for us. This is the seventh-straight fail in Toronto for the Rockets. Poor execution and terrible free-throw shooting were culprits in this 107-103 win for Toronto. It may as well be four straight losses for the Rockets when Oklahoma City comes to H-Town Friday night.

The Rockets needed to win tonight and have either or both Memphis or Phoenix to clinch a playoff berth. The last thing I need to have happen is for the Rockets to all of a sudden fall apart to where they feel like they should be a 7th or 8th Seed as opposed to a 4 or 5 Seed. At this pace, Portland may get to get that Home Court advantage for when the playoffs start two weeks from today. Rockets now trending in the wrong direction in a crucial time. This song and dance is getting old for Houston sports, and I'm damned disappointed about it. This is terrible- injuries notwithstanding. We're stuck on 49 wins unless this two-time NBA championship franchise finally WAKES THE HELL UP!!!

Hey Raptors are reeling too, Lowry and Johnson are both banged up, integral members of the team. DeRozan now has stitches in his hand, and it was damned decent of your Rockets to lose to my Raptors, thanks for the leg-up.:sly:

Oh quiet you, Raptors need to lose and know their place.:P

The Atlanta game I went to was really fun, it was awesome to see Bulls fans take over the stadium.:lol:

Thought Dallas was going to throw away the win there in the last couple minutes, but they pulled it out. From this point, they still need to win the majority of these next few games & hope Golden State loses some. San Antonio wants Memphis over us in the 8th seed & OKC wants us over Memphis. If we can surpass Golden State, Westbrick & The Servant will have a hard time stopping the Splash Brothers; they run the same quick paced games. Curry is as athletic & quick as Westbrick, Thompson can match Durant 3 for 3 every time, Bogut can handle Perkins, Butler v. Iguodala, & then you have Blake who will easily bring in his veteran experience against Fisher's. Not sure how Lee/Speights will hold up against Ibaka.

That would put us against the Clippers, but we can create close games with them. Ideally, would prefer us to run against John's Rockets or a6m5's Trailblazers.

Don't Heat fans take over the Atlanta stadium when they play as well? Do the Hawks have any fans?:lol:

No such thing as Heat fans, only bandwagoners.:lol:

Kudos to Toronto for beating Indy, and lol at Indy for being scrubs.

We got win No. 50 on the season! But damn... we had to man up against Brett's Oklahoma City Thunder to get this one. It was 111-107 here in Houston in another game without Dwight Howard and Patrick Beverley. Rockets didn't trail at all to OKC in the first half. The Rockets couldn't contain Kevin Durant long enough to hold him below 25. He ended up surpassing the 25+ point streak and remained strong in that department. His team still lost as the Rockets had just enough to pull away to a victory. Hell- we'll take it. The Rockets are now officially in the playoffs. Every game from here on out is basically a fight against Portland to maintain home turf for the playoffs.

Other teams IN the playoffs as of the time of this initial post (! = clinched division):

EAST: Toronto, Brooklyn, Indiana!, Chicago, Miami!, Washington
WEST: Oklahoma City!, Los Angeles Clippers!, San Antonio!, Houston

Congratulations to all other winners from tonight's games... including a surprising Double Overtime victory by Minnesota at Miami.

WHOO!! Yeah, that was a big win today, no Lowry or Amir Johnson but we down the head-scratching Pacers and head in to the home stretch against much easier teams. The remaining schedule is, on American days:
Tomorrow, Saturday: Bucks
Wednesday: 76'ers
Friday: Knicks
Next Sunday: Pistons
Next Monday: Bucks
Next Wednesday: Knicks
No reason they can't win a solid 5 of those remaining 6 (maybe dropping 1 to the desperate Knicks), but then the Bulls' remaining games aren't much harder. What a race for third!
