I have a feeling Toronto is going to end up with third.

They are just trolling the Bulls right now.
I think Miami REALLY wants Toronto to finish 4th though. I have a feeling they don't want to face Chicago/Brooklyn (99% chance they will anyways.)

They say that teams that have nothing to lose are the most dangerous. Back end of a back-to-back or not, this was still absolutely ugly, as the Rockets lost 123-116 tonight in Denver. The Rockets probably wished they could play against the Lakers again rather than get into this brutal game. Some players from the Rockets' Developmental League team, the Rio Grande Valley Vipers (who are in the D-League playoffs), trimmed down the Nuggets' lead substantially. However, they couldn't bring the Rockets to any kind of lead, as the Nuggets led from start to finish. I knew we'd lose this game. This loss snaps the Rockets' 20-game winning streak against teams with losing records.

Congratulations to all other winners from Wednesday.

Was there some sort of aversion to defence in the NBA today?
Aussie Dellavedova had another good game today, 14pts 12ast. Valanciunas, fresh off his DUI charge had a career high 26pts. Lowry in his first game back after missing time from a knee collision with Lebron seemed to have no rust and benefitted from the rest going for 29pts.
The Heat lost 1st place again today, the Pacers bench.....err.....starters getting it done against Milwaukee. With 4 games left for almost everyone, Raptors and Bulls are still inseperable, while both being a commanding 3 games clear of Brooklyn. Hawks are now 2 games clear of the Knicks. The Suns and Memphis still madly duking it our for 8th in the West.
Where did @Stavingo and @Spacegoat go from this thread?

Who wins in a tie-breaker between the two?

If they finish with the same record, Toronto wins all tie-breakers because first criteria is division.

Atlanta is THREE games ahead of New York, not 2. Atlanta holds all tie-breakers over New York.

Sweet. According to the NBA site though, Hawks are 35-43 and the Knicks 33-45, Knicks are 2 games back.
I really hope the in form Knicks can't take the Raptors out of 3rd though, because I can't see Bulls losing any of their remaining games.

Doesn't matter. Like I said, Atlanta holds tie-breakers vs. New York. They won the season series so if New York finishes tied with them they miss the playoffs. On paper its only a 2 game lead but for all intensive purposes the lead is 3 games.

Right, I see where you're coming from.

It's the final Thursday of the regular season(?), and the NBA on TNT has two matches lined up for you all tonight. Both matches involve Western Conference teams. On the card for tonight:

* San Antonio Spurs at Dallas Mavericks
* Denver Nuggets at Golden State Warriors

If you're going to check out either or both games tonight, enjoy you some NBA hoops tonight.

Where did @Stavingo and @Spacegoat go from this thread?

Don't know about Stav but I still lurk in this thread regularly, catching up on what's going on with all of your guys teams. Just got nothing much to say. (The Pelicans lost, again!? :indiff:) Great to see Dellavedova putting up another strong performance for the Cavs. 👍

I lurk the thread as well, just the problem is I got university and class on all the time.

Plus AD is out for the rest of the season :(

Sad NBA news... Lou Hudson, an Atlanta Hawks great, has recently died at 69. My thoughts and prayers go out in loving memory of Lou Hudson.

Lot of games tonight, including Pacers at(?) at Heat. Enjoy this final regular season weekend of NBA basketball for the 2014 season.

In Minneapolis, it was 112-110; Minnesota taking down my Rockets. This was despite Harden hitting a three to tie the game at 110. Corey Brewer was a beast with all the 51(?) points he scored for the Timberwolves. The Rockets have now lost two straight and will come home to Toyota Center to host the New Orleans Pelicans in our penultimate regular season home game. Rockets led somewhere around 63-59 at the Half. Still... we failed. Again. Rockets failed, Portland didn't. So no clinching of 4th Place (HOU need to win AND POR needed to lose). I delayed posting the sad Rockets news because I was following both HOU at MIN and POR at UTA. Sad night for a Rockets fan.

Elsewhere...

If you called the Miami Heat overrated garbage, they must have heard you and decided to slap around the Pacers some. It was a 98-86 victory even with Miami leading by about 20+ points at one point.

Congratulations to all other winners from Friday's games.

Wow pelicans are busted and bruised. Tyreke and Brian Roberts both left the game due to injuries as they lost to the thunder.

Yeah they had an unfortunate season with injuries, but it will mean a good lottery pick for them on a team already loaded with a fair amount of talent, they'll be in the play-offs sooner rather than later I think.

Unless we get a Top 5 pick, 76ers will get wherever we land because of the Holiday trade.

So how does the draft lottery work? Does say 11th in the East get a better chance than 12th in the West because they have a worse record or does 12th in the West get a better pick because they have a worse in-conference position?

All about how the ping pong balls roll isn't it? Or at least that's how they used to do it

Once Davis starts really getting near his peak & they still remain with their strong supporting cast, they should be back to their point when Paul first arrived.
Go Spurs. :P
You hush you. :P

The remaining 3 teams fighting for the Western 7th & 8th seed all play each other in these final games. Expect Playoff style basketball early.
