Hawks clinch the 8-seed today with a win over the Heat, now it's just a question of match-ups within the East!

You'll be on the bandwagon too by the second round.

I'll be on the Spurs bandwagon in the West from round 1, gotta support the Aussies!:dopey: I don't know if Bogut counts as an Aussie any more, he never wants to play for the national team because he's scared of injury or is already injured, and it's disappointing he sits in the back row of the Warriors' offence.

I hope so too, really need a proper wing player that can shoot it from anywhere.

I'd much rather see Pelicans get someone like Jabari Parker than say the Bucks, Celtics or Lakers. More than that though I hope Exum finds a good home on a team I don't hate and somewhere he can flourish, not be hidden on the bench or take a back seat to numerous other players. I'm really excited to see where the 76'ers are going, next season they'll have Nerlens Noel suit up on court, MCW will keep developing, they'll have multiple new lottery picks likely and Brett Brown seems to be a good coach-they just need some veteran locker room leadership to guide the youngsters.

Much needed win tonight as we clinch a Playoff spot. I suspect the Grizzlies will be doing everything now to fight for their 8th seed which means they need their game against us. Frankly, I still think we should "coast" into the 8th seed (since we're guaranteed now), and let Memphis stack up against OKC. They nearly swept them last year.

Crazy Saturday night here in Houston. Down 59-46 to the Pelicans, we somehow managed to man up and beat the Pelicans 111-104. No motivation or drive for the Rockets plagued them just about all game long. So what do you when you're down? You MAN UP! And tonight, we man'd up quite well to hand New Orleans their eighth straight loss. It wasn't like we dominated "Nawlins" for most of the game. Heck, the Pelicans were beating us like a drum in our own house. But in the end, it was the Rockets who came away with the victory. We can smile now, but will we be smiling when the Rockets head to New Orleans this coming Wednesday to close out the regular season?

Now that the Saturday games are over, here is your "in" list:

EAST: Indiana, Miami, Chicago, Toronto, Brooklyn, Washington, Charlotte, Atlanta (field complete)
WEST: San Antonio, Oklahoma City, Los Angeles Clippers, Houston, Portland, Golden State, Dallas

Congratulations to all winners of today's games and tonight's games.

With that loss to Dallas, The Suns might as well kiss their playoff hopes goodbye now - Memphis owns the tiebreaker over the Suns.

I hope Suns are out. They are dangerous!

P.S. Maybe the Mavs are right where they were expected to be, but the Blazers & Suns...... Who would've thought?

It was Game No. 81 of 82 for the Rockets tonight. We beat the Spurs 104-98 tonight. The Rockets last swept the San Antonio Spurs in the regular season in the 1988-1989 season. Houston led by as many as about 15 tonight. I only slightly followed this game. The win by the Rockets secured Home Court for the Rockets as our playoff journey begins with the Portland Trail Blazers. That's HUGE because a6m5's Trail Blazers are tough to play against in Portland. So we'll take the home field advantage in H-Town. The final regular season game for us is a trip to Stavingo's New Orleans Pelicans on Wednesday night.

Congratulations to all other winners from tonight's games.

Well... the Grizzlies clinched the last playoff spot...

Uhm... at least there's still a bright future, but.. the Suns choked, but it was perfectly reasonable because they're inexperienced.. at least there's a ton of draft picks.. and cap space... and the same GM who turned Jared Dudley and Luis Scola into Eric Bledsoe, Gerald Green, Plumlee and 1st-round picks..

I just don't know how to feel right now.

This Suns team is going to be a top team next season now that they know what to work on after this season. Memphis, though, just want much more.
Golden State fans could have a tougher Playoff run than they expected now; Bogut is out indefinitely which means O'Neal will have to step up against Griffin & Jordan.

And OKC tonight showed terrible decisions Scott Brooks continues to make. Why does he continue to give the vets so much playing time, esp. Fisher? I hardly see Adams & Lamb play at all. And what is this stupid ass choice to let Durant continue to play 30+ minute games down the stretch of remaining games? 42 minutes tonight, 9 for 23 against the Pelicans. That's not a shot at the Pelicans (the team has been injury-prone is all), but why so much time for a non-essential game? He ended it with 25 points with Butler & Ibaka finishing up the rest. Meanwhile, Fisher (2-8, 6 points) getting 30 minutes was a waste of time because he couldn't touch Tyreke Evans who ended with 41 points. I mean, if the win wasn't wanted, then there was no reason to let Durant play so long just for 25 points. Otherwise, Durant was either trying to stat pad again or doesn't know when to pace himself because now he's going to enter the Playoffs drained against Memphis who has a huge defensive prowess.

Lastly, tonight was the only night I have ever read Lakers fans get pissed off for winning a game because of Nick Young; apparently, they wanted the Lakers to lose to secure a top draft pick for Wiggins.

Wait, Laker fans wanting to lose? I need to stock up on rations because the world is ending.

Anyways, Fisher is still playing because of "experience", partly because he occasionaly shoot, and partially because Westbrook and Jackson are having injury issues. Maybe Brooks is scared about placing too much pressure on Lamb or something. Steven Adams, however, is the best center on their roster, (anything is infinitely better than Perkins, even Hasheem Thabeet) so that confuses me.

Anyways, I'd much rather have the Grizzlies in the playoffs, because they are a much scarier team than the Suns.. They were western conference finalists too..

I could understand that, but Fisher's experience didn't do anything tonight. Terrible shooting, even worse defense; he gave Evans a career high night. SMH....

I guess I could understand the Lamb/Adams deal, but it's not like tonight was a needed win, though. Couldn't have played any worse than they did tonight.

Terrible shooting, even worse defense;

I have a reason to post this now!

Probably going to piss off a Lakers fan, but the guy has pretty much made his legacy stick off his infamous shot against the Spurs. Otherwise, the guy along with Odom & Bydumb is a reason Dallas fans see the Lakers players as scumbags. Gasol is easily the most likeable Lakers player & they screwed him over, too.

The regular season finale(?) of the NBA on TNT is tonight. Here are tonight's only two matches:

* New York Knicks at Brooklyn Nets
* Denver Nuggets at Los Angeles Clippers

So we got two games on both coasts. Enjoy tonight's matches.

People, spare some thoughts for Andrew Bogut. I read a Tweet talking about how Bogut can't breathe or sneeze with his rib injury. It is scary. He is out indefinitely, so it will be that bit hard for Golden State to operate in the Playoffs without the Aussie.

But again... spare some thoughts for Andrew Bogut.

So apparently the Raptors are good this year. Does anyone know about the team and their success well enough to give me the cliffs notes version of what happened? My brother's starting to get into basketball so I'd kinda like to start watching the playoffs with him this year.

I'm seeing mentions of SportVu and analytics in connection to the Raptors, which is hilariously ironic to me as a hockey fan given that the Toronto Maple Leafs (same owners as the Raptors) are probably the most bull headedly stubborn and old school franchise there is, with management openly mocking analytics in hockey. The SportVu cameras are incredible though, the sheer amount of data is amazing.

Raptors have flown under the radar all year. I didnt even know they traded Gay & were still playing strong. I think they & the Wizards are going to surprise a lot of people in the Playoffs.

Well the Wizards better hope they don't match up with the Bulls in the first round.

As for Toronto, I want to rain on their parade and say they had a very easy schedule post all star break, but at the same time if you're a good team, you're supposed to make the most of an easy schedule.

That said, I'd take Chicago over Toronto in a playoff series. Perhaps in 5-6 games too. Not that I'm biased here, but I honestly believe the Bulls just take it to another level come playoff time. We have yet to see Toronto do the same, but who knows, maybe Dwayne Casey can inspire his men like Thibs does.

Can you believe that two players will not be playing in their respective games because of their 16th Technical Fouls? Those two players? They are DeMarcus Cousins (SAC) and Blake Griffin (LAC). Both will serve their one-game suspension after the two respective players picked up their 16th Technical Fouls. I'm not sure if there are any others who got T'ed up 16 times on the season that won't be playing.

Tonight is the final day of the regular season. All the playoff insanity begins this weekend. Good luck to all of your teams.

The Raptors traded Rudy Gay early in the season and it brought the team together in a way nobody expected. They started playing great team basketball, strong defence and DeRozan went from a star player to an all-star player, getting his first all-star appearance. Kyle Lowry should have done the same but got snubbed from the all-star team, he has been our MVP. They're not good enough to truly be considered contenders but they may win a first round series in the playoffs.

Well the Toronto got their third seed. Too bad they have to face the Nets.:P

And wow refs, can you rob the Bulls anymore? So frustrating.

Omnis if you read this I want you to tell the Heat to thoroughly embarrass the Bobcats.

Blake Griffin's suspended for the game tonight against the Blazers. I read that he accumulated 16 or how many ever technicals, which led to the suspension. It doesn't really matter anyway. Sounds like the Blazers are resting players, I'm sure Clippers are, too.

Basically, with nothing real special to play for, we failed in our (for all intents and purposes) tune-up game 105-100. Tonight's match was the playoffs for New Orleans. The birdies of "Nawlins" got their revenge against us after we beat them back this past Saturday in Houston. A win for the Rockets would have tied for the most regular season wins. However, we finished the regular season with a 54-28 record. We await the Portland Trail Blazers on Sunday night to start our playoff run. So a6m5 and I are going to have some problems for at least four games. And maybe if we advance to take on San Antonio at some point, that will mean MORE a6m5 problems.

Oh, well. It was a tune game for my Rockets anyways. Congratulations to all other winners from tonight's games, and extra congrats to all who made the playoffs this season.

a6m5 & McLaren by the time you guys meet up San Antonio. Right Mac?

How are Beverly & Howard? If they are hurt, Blazers have chance. If they are healthy, Blazers have zero chance against the Rockets. Zero.

It'll be interesting to see if I swear more at the Rockets, or the referees. Basketball & Call of Duty turns me into a potty mouth.

Brooklyn tanks final game so they play Toronto in first round. Incredibly moronic. I understand why they would do it but it's still incredibly moronic. The one team who really did NOT like that though is Miami, because now they will likely have to face Brooklyn (unless Brooklyn forgets the playoffs began and tanks against Toronto) as opposed to a Toronto/Washington/Charlotte 2nd round opponent.

I think Toronto can beat Brooklyn, it should at least be a good series. Tanking to face Toronto was probably not the Nets' smartest idea, but then, stuck between a rock and a hard place and all that. Raptors and Bulls were the two hottest teams in the East heading into the post-season. I'm psyched, this is the first time the Raptors have been in the play-offs since I've had the capability to watch NBA games and followed the NBA closely.
