How did Brooks even end up there and not Carlisle? Brooks doesn't even coach the team, he let's Durant & Westbrook run everything while he benches Lamb & Adams.
First of all, I want to know who voted for Jason Kidd?

Secondly, another award is out, and Goran Dragic is your 2013-14 Most Improved Player of the Year.
It wasn't even close.

Noah gets "Defensive player of the year" award yesterday.

He can't stop Nené...

Pfffff...

Maybe next season my dear Bulls...

I was rooting for RoLo(Robin Lopez) on that one, but Dragic was amazing this year. 👍 Can't really argue with Popovich selection either. Even if I wasn't a fan, it'd be hard to argue his team's consistency & professionalism. Where they lack in individual talent & athleticism, they make up with decipline & teamwork. Congrats to both winners. 👍

P.S. I asked around some Blazer fans at work today about their take on the outcome of tonight's game, also the series.

50% says that Blazers will win(wrong & I told them that lol), close to 50%(myself included) fear a BLOWOUT. I especially don't like how the NBA commented on Dwight Howard got ripped off on the very call McLaren mentioned(bear hug by Joel Freeland), but not the totally uncalled Howard elbow to RoLo's gut. :irked:

Here's the absolute shocker: Most fans at my work believes that our Blazers will defeat the Rockets & take the series. :dunce: :dopey:

I told them all that they are wrong, but I hope they are right. Go Blazers!

Edit: I'm an idiot. I hope I lose the bet I have for the series, too. LaMarcus is not human, Wesley & everybody stepped up, Go Blazers!

The Rockets basically forgot there are two halves to a game. Portland's up 2-0 after we fell apart basically GIVING Portland the 112-105 victory. This series is looking like a #3 vs. #6 rather than a #4 vs. #5, only that POR seems like a No. 3 and us Rockets a No. 6. Game 3 is Friday night. Rockets will have a tough time trying to force at least a Game 5 in Portland.

Bulls:censored: performance by the Rockets tonight. Unacceptable. Motherf:censored:ing unacceptable.

John, like you, I thought the Rockets are the better team. After Game 1, I thought that Blazers won because the Rockets didn't show up. Game 2........ They still didn't look good man.

I'm starting to wonder if I shortchanged my Blazers. It's not completely my fault either, because I hadn't seen them play defense, let alone strong, physical defense seen in the series so far. I knew that Blazers could score.... most of the time. But defense? I'm a firm believer in that you can't teach defense. You have to want it & take pride in it. Blazers have said lately that they will have to turn up the defense come Playoffs & I said bull 🤬. But here they are, turning up the defense.

Maybe it's not Rockets not showing up. Maybe they are getting beat by a worthy opponent. Series is far from over, but it's a great start. Go Blazers!

Edit - Just checked the scoreboard:

WTF Spurs!?!?!?

:banghead: :( :grumpy:

How about them Mavs. :irked:

:D

On Harden: I think both Wesley's D & Howard getting too many touches are keeping him from getting hot. Just my observation, keep in mind that I'm an idiot.

Nene always gave Noah problems, it's simply a match up issue. But comparing the two's stats over the season, Noah justly got his award.

That said, the Bulls as a whole need to come up with something offensively to save them, not defensively. And with being the 30th ranked team on that front, I doubt that's going to happen. Bulls management has to address the offense this offseason.

Yup! Bulls need more firepower, that's pretty much it.

And Thibs knows this quite well. It's really commendable though that with the worst offense in the league without its all star pg, Thibs managed to lead them to the playoffs in fourth position. Yeah it's the East, but they are still NBA teams.

Once this season comes to end for us, and I'm sure it'll probably be by next week, the Bulls have to go hardcore into swaying Melo or Mirotic to come over.

For Carmelo, sure he can get money, but will he get championships? I know I'm sounding biased, but no other team looks as good as Chicago for Melo. With a healthy Rose (knock on wood) and a DPOY in Noah, a beast in Gibson, and an all around player in Butler, Chicago has a formidable starting 5.

However it's up to management to screw this one up.

I think Melo and the Bulls will end up together, they keep talking each other up. Melo will either be a Bull or a Knickerbocker next season.

Edit: Wow, Atlanta up 2-1, Memphis up 2-1. These series aren't over, but the lowly seeds are getting up early.

Edit 2: Nets win game 3, that really sucks. The refs helped them build a 15pt lead and the Raptors failed in the end to complete a big comeback.

@Paulie: Well like I said, it's up to management to screw it up and not land Melo.

As for our current spat with the Wiz, we survived to play another night. Kudos to Butler for standing his ground to Nene. Hopefully things like that will put some fire back into the Bulls. And a big kudos to Dunleavy for having the career night when it matters most. Personally, I don't think he's gonna be able to replicate that, but here's to hoping.

And lol at Wizards fans complaining about bad calls. Welcome to the NBA.

Portland still leads the series, but it is now 2-1 as the Houston Rockets won 121-116 in Overtime. Yep. 48 minutes of roundball wasn't enough to settle this one. Mo Williams basically brought Portland back into the game late after we led by about 11. Rockets seemed pissed off early scoring the first few points and jumping out to a double-digit lead early. We executed much better in this one. So there will be a Game 5 to this series. Game 4 is on Sunday night at about 9:30 PM EDT.

Congratulations to all other winners from Friday.

Portland choked. My observation: LaMarcus was absolutely ice cold, Lillard's hair style rocked, home crowd should be ashamed of themselves for taking a Playoff-night off. 👎

LaMarcus & Lillard took bad shots toward the end of the regulation, which was a shocker to me. Their decision making have been mostly sound before effing up to close the game. Once in O/T, it was obvious Blazers were in trouble. I'm disappointed Mo Williams & RoLo did not play toward the end, not sure what was going thru Coach Stotts' head. :indiff:

Yeah, sumbrownkid. Not that I know the specifics of what Donald T. Sterling owner said or did, but this is not good PR for this guy. I'm sure all the various shows will talk about this. You know- First Take, Highly Questionable, Mike and Mike, Around the Horn, Pardon the Interruption... all at least among ESPN shows.

Speaking of the Bulls, congratulations to Chicago on their win at Washington. Nene picked up two Technical Fouls and was ejected from Friday night's game. I saw the skirmish live on TV and would have been surprised if somebody got ejected from that melee or picked up Technical Fouls. Nene will serve his suspension starting tomorrow. So the Bulls may have a chance to tie their series at 2-2.

So Sterling.

Nice PR you brought on yourself. And at the best time too while your team is in the playoffs.
How is it even news to people? Sterling has been a closet racist for years, much of it coming out when he was refusing to rent to Hispanics & Blacks in his apartment complexes.

I hate the Clippers because of Donald Sterling. It was always profit over wins with this guy. Then the Lakers got screwed out of the Chris Paul trade, oh, now he wants his team to play.

I didn't know he was a racist though. If the allegation is true, I hope he ends up being forced to sell the team. That would be neat.

P.S. Vince Carter needs to retire. I have no use for him.

:P

Unfortunately, I don't think he can be forced to do anything. He's the owner, he has pretty much full say in whatever happens with the team. The team would pretty much have to walk away, but they're not going to do that knowing they are legitimate contenders & the downside is as long as they remain contenders & play, the further people will continue to pay big money to see them play & the more money Sterling makes.

And dat Vinsanity still going strong. :D

The Clippers should dessert L.A. and their racist owner and go to Seattle, become the Supersonics.:P

It's a newage skinny jean and thick frame glasses wearing America Mclaren. If it's not on Twitter, TMZ, or some other social thing, it's going to be a secret.

As for my Bulls, well they are down by 15 going into the half, and if they lose this game, which will probably happen, they are now playing for pride once it gets back to Chicago. The 30th ranked offense strikes again. Seriously hope we get Melo and meet with the Wizards again in the playoffs and sweep them.

As for the Clips, they have every right to be angry but at the same time boycotting the games, as some people are suggesting is incredibly stupid. Doc Rivers and the team are doing the right thing by focusing what's going on on the court and in the locker room and playing for themselves, for the fans, for the city, and for the NBA. Not for Sterling.

Boycotting will only throw away all the hard work the Clippers did this season. Adam Silver is actually handling this well. Sterling maybe a bigot, but he has to be given a fair investigation before any move is made.

It was a rhetorical question, though you're right.

Game 4 of HOU vs. POR was quite the meat grinder. Houston played great for most of the game. Portland played very well but didn't really come alive until the second half. This one required more than 48 minutes to be settled. So in the end, the Rockets lost 123-120 in Overtime. Portland now leads the series 3-1, and the Rockets will now have to win out to prevent the Rockets' season from coming to an end. One loss away from me going back to following my lose-happy Astros. It was a great game. Just too damn bad the Rockets ran out of energy late.

DAMN IT!!!

That was a brutal game 4 at Brooklyn, the refs didn't decide to call it as a basketball game until the last 2-3mins. I'm pretty sure 90% of the Raptors are now injured from the Nets' "physical play".
That Blazers-Rockets game was hectic, one of the best series overall so far. Clippers may have had too large an off-court distraction when the Warriors blew them away. And I think it's safe to say nobody throught the Wizards
would be up 3-1 right now.

Jack Ramsay has died at the age of 89. He has been successful in college and pro basketball through his long career. How will you remember Jack Ramsay?

In addition, I'd be remiss if I failed to mention Michael Heisley- the former owner of the Memphis Grizzlies, who was responsible from moving the franchise from Vancouver to Memphis. He died earlier this weekend at the age of 77.

So my thoughts and prayers go out respectively to all whom have known Michael Heisley and Jack Ramsay.

[UPDATE] Ramsay was 89 at his passing. I made the needed edits.
