Gerald Green is not human.
Unfortunately, other than that, the Suns played horribly, losing to the Magic 93-90. They simply did not play with any form of intensity until like, the last 3 minutes.

Baynes has been playing great lately, netting himself 13pts today. Oh, and the Raptors (sans DeRozan) lost to the Lakers.👎 🤬 Still waiting for Exum to become a more consistent scorer, and explode for a 20+pt game. He's a fast learner, but I'm not sure how fast to expect these things.

That 3 pointer against the Celtics though, dayummmmm :D

Before I talk about games from Monday, I got to say that Gerald Green dunk (Post #481) was sick! Wonder if he's campaigning to be in the next Dunk Contest with that one. Sorry your Suns lost that game, DCybertron.

Only four games were played on Monday. Who won from Monday night? Read on:

• The San Antonio Spurs shown no love in the City of Brotherly Love as they won 109-103 in Philadelphia against the Philadelphia 76ers. The Sixers can tie the 2009-2010 New Jersey Nets for the worst start in NBA history if they lose at Minnesota this Wednesday.

• The Washington Wizards iced the Miami Heat 107-86 in Washington, D.C. It was a flag-to-flag (to use racing speak) victory for the Wizards. The Heat are now 9-8 on the season while the Wizards improve to 11-5.

• The closest game of the night was in Salt Lake City as the Utah Jazz hosted the Denver Nuggets. Unfortunately for Utah, it was the boys from Mile High who beat the tuned out the Jazz 103-101.

• Minnesota will be back in Minneapolis to host the Philadelphia 76ers on Wednesday. The Timberwolves will be heading back there after getting neutered 127-101 by the Los Angeles Clippers in Los Angeles.

From Monday's games, congratulations to all winners. Better luck next time to all losers... even including the lose-happy 76ers. Philadelphia will win one day.

It's the first Tuesday in December 2014. You know what else it is? NBA Fan Night! And this week's Fan Night Game of the Week is...

...Toronto Raptors at Sacramento Kings!

Even without DeMar DeRozan for Toronto, NBA fans voted to see what two hot teams can do when they take each other on in Sacramento. The ballin' Raptors will take on DeMarcus "Boogie" Cousins and company. Which hot team will stay hot? We'll see tonight!

The season is still early, but here is a brief standings update. How is/are your team(s) doing? Take a look:

--- EASTERN CONFERENCE ---
ATLANTIC: Toronto (11-4), BKN (6-9), BOS (4-10), NY (4-14), PHI (0-17)
CENTRAL: Chicago (11-6), MIL (10-8), CLE (8-7), IND (7-10), DET (3-14)
SOUTHEAST: Washington (11-5), ATL (9-6), MIA (9-8), ORL (7-12), CHA (4-14)

TOP 8: TOR, WSH, CHI, ATL, MIL, CLE, MIA, IND
REST: BKN, ORL, BOS, NY, CHA, DET, PHI

--- WESTERN CONFERENCE ---
NORTHWEST: Portland (13-4), DEN (9-8), OKC (5-12), UTA (5-13), MIN (4-12)
PACIFIC: Golden State (14-2), LAC (12-5), PHX (10-8), SAC 9-8), LAL (4-13)
SOUTHWEST: Memphis (15-2), HOU and SA (13-4 each), DAL (13-5), NO (7-8)

TOP 8: MEM, GS, POR, HOU, SA, DAL, LAC, PHX
REST: SAC, DEN, NO, OKC, UTA, MIN, LAL

Still very early in the season. Keep playing hard! In the meanwhile... I'll go practice saying and spelling "Antetokounmpo" whenever Milwaukee Bucks highlights show up. I've been accustomed to pronouncing and spelling our own Greek star on the Rockets' squad- Papanikolaou. Speaking of which, we don't play again until tomorrow night against Memphis. We then have a back-to-back on Friday at Minnesota and then host DCybertron's Suns this Saturday.

Go enjoy some Tuesday NBA basketball.

I hope he's really 100% though and they're not D-Wading him.

I hope Coach Scott Brooks takes it easy on KD and Westbrook's minutes for a few games. Don't want anything to happen again, with how far they are in the West.

And on another topic, Arena names are becoming... less interesting and bland now. We have the Sleep Train Arena (Sacramento), Smoothie King Center (New Orleans), and now, since US Airways no longer exists, us Suns fans are treated to...
The Talking Stick Resort Arena.
:yuck:

The Suns look to sweep the season series with the Pacers tonight, and hopefully that new name won't have any bad effects on us.

Gee nice foul Hinrich.

Did you think were Tony Snell for a moment?

Great game though. But it's annoying to see the Bulls with a losing record at home. Come on Bulls you ain't the Bears.

The problem is Durant has an injury that has caused many players to take major step backs in their careers & some becoming injured numerous times. Rasheed Wallace lost his career to a Jones fracture. Yao Ming still suffers from it despite playing past it for a few seasons. Brook Lopez hasn't played the same since his; it's not hard to re-injure yourself & seeing as Durant spends a lot more time than most players jumping (since he's primarily a jump shooter & responsible for over a 1/3rd of the points usually), it's not hard to imagine that he could hurt himself again.

We tamed the Memphis Grizzlies 105-96 last night here in Houston. Dwight Howard still out with a knee injury (7th straight missed game), and a bunch of other Rockets were out for this game. Houston still managed to win behind James Harden's 21 points. We are now 14-4 on the 2014-2015 season.

Up next is a back to back: at Minnesota on Friday, then back home on Saturday against Phoenix.

Elsewhere...

* Congratulations to all other winners, but...

SIXERS WIN!!!

It was 85-77 in Minneapolis as the Timberwolves became the first victim of the 2014-2015 Philadelphia 76ers. So these Sixers managed to avoid tying the 2009-2010 Nets for the worst start to an NBA season. All congratulations to the Sixers.

Once again... congratulations to all other winners from Wednesday, this time INCLUDING the 76ers.

Welcome to the first Thursday of December 2014. Three games are lined up for you all, two of which on NBA on TNT, all making for one great night of action. Get ready for these three games:

* Cleveland Cavaliers at New York Knicks (NBA on TNT)
* Indiana Pacers at Portland Trail Blazers
* New Orleans Pelicans at Golden State Warriors (NBA on TNT)

Enjoy some Thursday Night NBA basketball.

Regulation didn't solve anything. So in Overtime in Minneapolis, the Houston Rockets won 114-112 in Overtime. This game is part of a back-to-back. Up next for the Rockets is a game against the Phoenix Suns back home at Toyota Center.

Congratulations to all other winners from Friday, including Charlotte snapping their ten-game losing streak. Better luck next time to all losers... including (again...) the Philadelphia 76ers.

So the Mavericks are actually the best offense in the NBA. I really love what they've done. They're such a joy to watch. Cuban and Carlisle aren't stupid. Being so close to the Spurs is probably enough to open most people's eyes though.

It was a five-point win in Houston for the Houston Rockets, as we won 100-95 over DCybertron's Phoenix Suns to get our 16th win of the season. Still no Dwight Howard in the lineup. Patrick Beverley, however, was back in the lineup after he got banged up. When I read on Yahoo! Sports, I found out we never trailed in this game in this win. Wire-to-wire. Flag-to-flag (to use racing speak).

Congratulations to all other winners from Saturday.

There was an article where Kobe was asked about the Lakers' situation to which he responded, "If this was the Titanic, I'd go down with that ****".
And then someone made this.

It's Tuesday, which can mean only one thing for fans- NBA Fan Night! This week's game is...

...Dallas Mavericks at Memphis Grizzlies!

So NBA fans want to see what McLaren's Dallas Mavericks can do at the Grizzlies. This should be a pretty good match. Enjoy this one if you have NBA TV.

John Wall. I've always liked him, but now he's one of my favorite players.

"Washington Wizards' star John Wall had the pleasure of meeting Miyah Telemaque-Nelson, a five-year old cancer patient, last year. They became friends and he helped her reach a dream of meeting Nicki Minaj. It was a moment in which Wall was able to use his celebrity status to help a child get something she wanted.

Tragically, Miyah passed away on Monday and the news was devastating to her family, friends, and Wall as well. Wall played the game against the Boston Celtics Monday night and had a huge game. He finished with 26 points and 17 assists, becoming the first Wizards' player in franchise history to pass for 12 assists or more in five straight games. In the second overtime of the 133-132 win for the Wizards, Wall had 10 of the team's 12 points and he assisted on the other two points.

Following the game, he was interviewed about the emotional day for him and he broke down in tears, unable to finish the interview. It was an incredibly touching moment under such awful conditions." Full Story

I'm pretty sure the franchise record he broke was of my all-time favorite player, Rod Strickland, so congrats to him on that, too.

Terrible defense & Monta/Dirk having their worst game together. Parsons stepped up again, but it's not enough. Grizzlies locked down the paint & dared the jump shots.

The short handed Raptors got beaten by the surging Cavs, Dellavedova played masterclass defence in the 4th quarter that really lead the late rally for Cleveland to take the win. After playing overtime the night before, the Raptors looked fairly fatigued late in the 4th.

Most teams have played about 20 games, so we're 25% through the 2014-2015 season. How are your team(s) doing? I'll make a short assessment of my team so far.

My Houston Rockets face a stern test tonight at the Golden State Warriors. Something tells me this season's Rockets are clearly motivated by that disappointing exit from last season's playoffs. What have they done? Play to win. Even without Dwight Howard being in the lineup, the Rockets are still finding ways to win and ways to get the offense going. Even an accomplishment was to avoid being the first victim of the Philadelphia 76ers with a one-point win. It is still too early to call anything about the Rockets at this point. All I can say is... the Rockets have come this far. How much can they keep up their fine form, and can they consistently play to a level to where they can possibly solidify themselves as a title contender? Us Houstonians would love to see its NBA franchise win their third championship and the first championship since the 1994-1995 season.

Only other non-basketball note is that with the demise of Comcast SportsNet Houston, the new ROOT Sports Southwest has been the new TV home of the Rockets and Astros and such. I only hope the carriage of this network will be greater than the two years CSN Houston so I can finally regularly see my Rockets on TV.

So that's my assessment of the 2014-2015 Rockets. Do any of you want to share your own assessment of your team or some other team? Feel free to do so.

My team wore the "I Can't Breathe" shirt tonight, then went on to lose against the Wolves. Too bad they aren't able to make statement both on & off the court..... or did they? :dunce:

Yay for late games! I feared the Rockets wouldn't take down Golden State, and those fears were confirmed. We failed while Golden State remains ballin'. It was a 105-93 win for the Warriors. Not even James Harden's 38 points could help the shorthanded Rockets snap Golden State's long winning streak.

Congrats to all winners from Wednesday.

Thursday nights don't have to stink. If you fear tonight is going to be boring, maybe these two NBA on TNT games will get you going:

* Cleveland Cavaliers at Oklahoma City Thunder
* Houston Rockets at Sacramento Kings

It's Thursday Night. It's the NBA. Enjoy tonight's action!
