The final NBA Fan Night Game of the Week for January 2015 is all about the Midwest. Here you go:

Cleveland Cavaliers at Detroit Pistons

NBA fans voted to enjoy some Midwestern-style basketball. Two teams trending in different directions- Cleveland on the up, Detroit... sort of going down. The fun takes place at the Palace of Auburn Hills in the greater Detroit area.

Enjoy some hoops tonight, everyone. From last night, games at the Knicks and at the Nets were postponed thanks to the "Blizzard of 2015." I hope everyone is okay and will be okay despite the brutal blizzard.

Raptors have a 3 game win streak, they're slowly starting to look better again after DeRozan came back from injury.

Two entities of the NBA's Texas Triangle clashed tonight here in Houston. It was my Houston Rockets against McLaren's Dallas Mavericks. We got it done over the Mavs 99-95. I didn't follow this game to any great degree. All I know is that as a native Houstonian sports fan and a Houston sports fan, there's NOTHING like a Houston/Dallas rivalry. Up next is a back-to-back Eastern road trip- at Boston on Friday (an ESPN-televised game, I hear) and then at Detroit on Saturday. The Rockets won't play again until next Wednesday after the Detroit game, and we'll be back home then.

Elsewhere...

* Kyrie Irving hung double nickel on a6M5's Portland Trail Blazers- 55 points for K. Irving. Rip City got ripped in Cleveland by a score of 99-94. Irving's 55 is a scoring record at "The Q."

* It wasn't a good night for Brett's Oklahoma City Thunder in New York City as the Knicks won 100-92.

* Paulie's Toronto Raptors cruised at home to dethrone the Sacramento Kings 119-102.

* The Philadelphia 76ers remembered what it is like to be a winner as they smashed Detroit 89-69 in Philadelphia.

* It was a 110-98 win for the Minnesota Timberwolves at home to the visiting Boston Celtics.

* Atlanta keeps ballin' as they won at home 113-102 against the Brooklyn Nets.

Congratulations to all other winners from Wednesday.

What a game for Kyrie!
Did anyone else realise Atlanta has 2 more victories than even Golden State? (1 more loss as well though)
Toronto got back to 2nd place today after beating the Kings and after Washington got beaten by the Suns. Thanks for the leg-up @DCybertron.

So you want some NBA basketball tonight? How about I interest you in tonight's four game lineup? That's right- FOUR games. Tonight's schedule:

* Milwaukee Bucks at Orlando Magic
* New York Knicks at Indiana Pacers
* Denver Nuggets at Memphis Grizzlies (NBA on TNT)
* Chicago Bulls at Los Angeles Lakers (NBA on TNT)

Enjoy your Thursday night of NBA action.

New career high for Joe Ingles today, getting 16pts in a Jazz victory!:D Dante Exum also got his 2nd straight start over Trey Burke and chipped in 13pts. Now all we need is @sumbrownkid's Bulls to trade Bairstow to a team that will give him minutes.;) I saw one suggested trade that sent Bairstow, Snell and a 2nd round pick to Boston for Jae Crowder. I sincerely dislike Boston, but if it means Cam getting some minutes then so be it.

Honestly man I've been pulling my hair at Thibs decisions with minutes. Really if he continues this for another year or so, and the Bulls still flop come playoffs...Don't be surprised at a head coaching change.

Yeah there was a story on Bleacher Report about that the other day, I didn't realise it was getting that bad in the Windy City. Even so, the Bulls have a deep frontcourt, I can't imagine Bairstow getting any reasonable minutes even if they were destributed more evenly. It would go to Gibson and Mirotic, maybe McDermott if he's healthy, instead.

93-87 was the final score in Boston as we managed to escape with a win. I say escape because the Rockets were leading about 60-42 at the half until a brutal 3rd quarter brought the Celtics to within 5. James Harden didn't go anywhere near bonkers with about 14 or so points scored in this game. Still- a win is a win. We'll take it. Up next for the Rockets is at Detroit tomorrow night to conclude this back-to-back.

Congratulations to all other winners from Friday.

[UPDATE] James Harden accounted for 14 of the Rockets' points tonight, not 17. Edit made.

It goes beyond that man and honestly not every game has to be won. Having the first seed is not as important anymore. The Bulls have to make the playoffs healthy to beat anybody, and the way Thibs has them run, it's just not something I can see happen. Not until he learns to take a page from Gregg Popovich.

@Omnis, what da **** was that 4th Qtr by Miami? No Whiteside to come back? I mean, thanks for snapping our losing streak, but a 33-12 run?

Not a good game, eh? I didn't watch it. Is it worth watching the replay?

If you want to see how Whiteside did, sure. 12pts, 16rebounds in the 1st Half; 24 rebounds at the end. 2nd Half, ya'll gave up a 37-2 run before the last 6 minutes thanks to Charlie V.

Didn't see Wade or Deng play & Bosh shot 5-18. I kept waiting for Whiteside to come in, but he never did.

Wow. Did all of your Mavs play? I really like watching Dallas when I can.

The first seed isn't important, but everyone's trying to avoid the 4th/5th spots due to the matchup it will create in the first round of the playoffs. If you're the Bulls/Cavs/Raptors/Wizards you most certainly wouldn't want to face one of the others in the first round. It might be a part of why Thibs is trying to win every game.

Last night, we got past the Boston Celtics in Boston. Tonight, we failed trying to take down Detroit. The Pistons won 114-101 over my Rockets. The Palace at Auburn Hills was rocking as the Detroit Pistons handled their business against my Rockets. So this will not be a winning back-to-back for Red Nation. Coming back home to play on Wednesday for a three-game home stand that includes Chicago, Milwaukee, and Portland.

Congratulations to all of Saturday's winners.

Toronto gave up 20pt leads, went to overtime and won on consecutive days. Not sure how to take that...

Felton didn't play (shocker!) & neither did Powell. Parsons was out with an illness.

And I can't believe the Jazz beat the Warriors a couple days ago. Wow.

The Houston Rockets will be without the services of Dwight Howard for about a month with right leg issues. We are 11-5 without him in the lineup. Didn't need DH12 tonight as we were able to take down sumbrownkid's Chicago Bulls 101-90 on an ESPN-televised game last night.

Congratulations to everyone else who didn't fail on Wednesday.

The All-Star break is coming up. But for now, it is another Thursday night of NBA action. Here is tonight's four-game schedule:

* WSH Wizards at CHA Hornets
* LAC Clippers at CLE Cavaliers (NBA on TNT)
* DAL Mavericks at SAC Kings
* PHX Suns at POR Trail Blazers (NBA on TNT)

Go enjoy some NBA hoops tonight if you'll be watching.

THIS JUST IN...

Jacque Vaughn has been relieved of his coaching duties for the Orlando Magic. James Borrego will be the interim coach of the Magic. The Magic are currently 15-37 and 5th in the Southeast Division of the Eastern Conference.

Anybody watching the LAC at CLE game? It's a Technical Foul fest right now especially with referree Lauren Holtcamp as head referree. Just wait until the YouTube and Twitter people make all the sexist jokes about Holtcamp. Or of course, watch any YouTube videos on this game or follow any Twitter posts to get your fill on comments from others.

Current LAC at CLE score as of this post: 96-67, Cleveland. 9:10 left in the 4th Quarter.

Holtcamp looks macho, I wouldn't mess with her!:scared: It was hilarious watching that sequence of events, most of the tech fouls were deserving, at least the rookie ref (Lauren) wasn't intimidated by star players.

Edit: Raptors rallied from a 20pt deficit to blow out the Clippers today.

Tonight, the Milwaukee Bucks came down to H-Town. Despite making it close, we still won 117-111. A couple of Bucks had double-doubles including their "Greek Freak." James Harden had 33 points in the Rockets' win. Trevor Ariza cashed in about 24 points. Up next for the Rockets is the final game of this home stand as we host A6M5's Portland Trail Blazers on Sunday.

* Some people would think of it as an NBA Finals preview. Regardless, it was the Golden State Warriors at the Atlanta Hawks. Winning this one was Atlanta by the tally of 124-116.

* I learned watching NBA TV's "The Starters" that next season's All-Star Game will be in Toronto. So in the home of the 2016 NBA All-Star Game, it was Paulie's Toronto Raptors who held serve at home with authority with a 123-107 victory over the Los Angeles Clippers. And in case you're wondering... the Clip Joint picked up some Technical Fouls in this one.

* What about Los Angeles' other team? They also lost. But in this game, the Lakers and Magic couldn't solve their issues in 48 minutes. So they needed an extra five minutes for the Magic to win 103-97 at home against the Lakers.

* The Cleveland Cavaliers could tie their franchise record for longest win streak if they get past the Indiana Pacers. Didn't happen. The Pacers won 103-99 in Indianapolis.

* 107-96 was the final score in Boston as the Boston Celtics took down the Philadelphia 76ers.

* The New Orleans Pelicans were not scared of the Oklahoma City Thunder, winning 116-113 in Oklahoma City. I read the Pelicans fron "Nawlins" hit a late 3-pointer to deflate OKC's chances of having a chance to win or force Overtime. So it was another sad loss for Brett's Thunder.

* It was a one-point victory for the home standing Minnesota Timberwolves as they stunned the Memphis Grizzlies 90-89.

Congratulations to all other winners from Friday.

Why read about it when you can watch it? Here you go. :D NOLA only 1 game behind the eighth placed Suns in the west now.

Up next for the Rockets is the final game of this home stand as we host A6M5's Portland Trail Blazers on Sunday.
That should go well. We do have RoLo back now, but we aren't playing very good basketball right now. We couldn't beat you guys when we were playing good ball.

Saw that shot earlier. Luck, but damn.👍

I saw the result and three pointer this morning. 🤬 That was the first three Anthony Davis has made this year. 🤬
