I'm back with a few more thoughts on the game.

  • Restarting a race means having to enter the race again. Why...?
  • Not every parts maker has decals which is a bit of a shame.
  • The AI is witless. I can't count the amount of times my drift has been ruined by other AI slamming me into the armco.
  • 5 garage slots still really annoys me. Like, really annoys me.
  • Cutscenes have become bearable. Phone calls just need to be texts now.
  • Yknow that thing where random AI racers go backwards on your course? Yeah don't.

I quite like that! Sure it's annoying as hell if it screws your race up but it gives a sense the world is that little bit more "alive" when another players race comes flying through yours.

YES! I had someone's race meet up with mine earlier and we were both going in the same direction, 14 cars flying through the Canyons! :)

Complete as in no DLCs and updates. Just one perfect game. Now that's what I can dream of one game. What happened to the days of PS1, Xbox Original, PS2 days where devs push out games perfectly without needing for them to release additional content that wasn't in the game during release.

Going back to NFS, I can remember them releasing free car packs during High Stakes for the PC and also releasing special versions of NFS like Most Wanted Black Edition for the PS2 where you'll get a '69 Camaro from Carbon, a M3 GTR Street and custom versions of the Corvette C6.R, 911 GT2, Camaro, etc.
Gone & gone for good. While several big titles do seem to release "unfinished", there are still a handful where DLC does nothing but continue to breathe fresh life into a game. Sports game have benefited almost more than any genre thanks to the ability to update the games to current rosters/arenas/players/etc. It's almost amazing how they still feel the need to keep pushing out new titles when 1 solid game can be updated so much. The only things that can't are certain features & mechanics the base game can't be altered without a fresh game.
I find it weird that the video game industry is the only entertainment industry where if someone speaks on their disappointment or distaste for a game, other people will automatically call them "needy, begging, never satisfied, etc"
This is why the game industry is what it is today, people who attack those who have gripes with the game. This game is terrible and its reviews show that. 5 car garage limit? Why? There is no reason for that. If someone wants to have 1 car they can! So if I want 10 why is that evil? The point of a car racing game is to enjoy the cars and the racing. If I have to make decisions based on fake limits then the game is just adding padding to it. The career was short and quite frankly over acted and didn't add to the game at all.
It's not. It's the most popular, but the movie/TV industry has more than its fair share of the same folks.

I have a 180sx that's out running my ZR1 through races. I've literally beaten one of my times in the ZR1 by almost 20 seconds with the 180sx. Guess it's how I have my car set up. It's more to the "tuning" aspect than what you see on screen at first..

I gave in and bought the deluxe edition of this for £26 and I'm enjoying it more than I thought I would, the handling seems a bit better than it did in the beta but I could just be imagining it. I like the fact you now have better options for the decal editor but they're still missing a 'copy' function for individual vinyls. I'd also like to see a stamp option to stamp the same vinyl over and over.

To put it simply, I need help.

Got NFS for Christmas. I'm kind of enjoying it. The career is fun, I like hunting collectibles and completing challenges, the customization is fantastic, and the FMV is fun in a silly, semi-cringeworthy, so-bad-it's-good kind of way. But there's one massive problem, and it's one I really wish I could shake...

The handling in this game is just not working for me at all. I can't remember the last arcade racer I've played that is this erratic, unpredictable, and — strictly in terms of the physics here — unfun. Trying to navigate a corner without going sideways is like walking a tightrope between crippling understeer and all the grip in the world, with no gradation between the two. It's 0-100. A sheer cliff.

Drifting I'm beginning to figure out, but even then I'm at a loss. Pulling the handbrake immediately snaps my BRZ 90 degrees to whatever direction I was previously facing, which is useless for any corners wider than a right angle. And easing into the slide is impossible, it's all or nothing once again. This makes chaining really, really difficult. And the steering, at least in its default state, is way too heavy, delayed, and unresponsive for my liking. I never feel like I'm in control, and I'm damn good at arcade racers. My early hunch just a couple of hours in is that going sideways is the fastest way to get around, but I could use some confirmation on that.

I want, so badly, to like this game. And it's even more frustrating because I've had issues with NFS handling as far back as I can remember; the physics always hold these games back for me. I'd have to go all the way back to Hot Pursuit 2 to name an NFS I actually found thrilling to drive. Fortunately, however, in this new one you can tweak handling settings, so I was wondering if anyone felt the same as I did, messed around with the sliders and found something they liked that they might be willing to share. For what it's worth, I've already turned off the assists and launch control.

@glassjaw Have you tried altering the tuning settings of your BRZ? I believe this should help a lot in finding the correct physics balance for you. As a quick solution, A number of people in this thread have recommended moving the handling slider towards the drift side (not too far otherwise your car feels like it is on ice) and installing grip tyres. I've tried this on my M3 E92 and it has drifting less frantic and more controllable. ;)

Why oh why are there no wheels for the F40?

I've been working towards that car since I bought the game and was looking forward to pairing it with a 90's GT inspired livery, but with the road car wheels it just looks wrong. :(

Welcome to EA and Ferrari's special relationship!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

"You may have Ferraris but you may do nothing to them unless we authorise it." which is why you can get aftermarket wide body kits for Lamborghinis, while you can turn your 458 into another official type of 458

5 garage slots still really annoys me. Like, really annoys me.
I've grown a major psychotic hatred for the 5 garage slot limitation. I can't even fathom why anyone would limit their own game like this. I've already used up 4 slots and have no intention of getting rid either of my cars. I'd like to be able to own several (at least two more) garages as in TDU. It can't be that hard to implement and would definitely eliminate the frustration of always having to sell one of your cars to free up space.

I didn't mind it that much in previous NFS games as you could tune and customize the cars outside of the story mode, but this is just...tiresome.

Hi everyone, I bought NFS 3 days ago with my PS4 and I wasn't expecting much but I absolutely love it! Finished the game already 100% using only my beginner car the Fox Body or "Stang" as it's plate reads. I've been reading a bit of talk about the tuning and was wondering is there a perfect setting? I currently run auto set to the middle which works for me but there are times I feel it could be improved but I'm not sure how because grip seems to create understeer and slow me down while too much towards drift just creates something very unpleasant.

Quick tip I can give out is there is a 2 lap circuit event by the name of: Assume The Position near Harbor View Mall that is only 2 minutes long and gives 8,000 credits and around 30-40k rep every time. My record is 1:49.9 in an M2.
There is also a time trial called Watcha Torquing About which takes less time and earns the same amount.

It's nice to see a different side to GTPlanet 👍

Had my first disconnect, suprised it took this long.

And it just had to happen 3 seconds from the end of the cooldown of a 12 minute pursuit. :banghead:

12 hours later I have finished the story. Level 44 and just got a few handful of trophies left. Find it very easy just the daily challenge is the one that takes the longest I think.

Does anyone here play with a wheel on NFS 2015? I play it with my new T80 time from time and the game is kinda fun with the wheel but it's very hard to execute a drift perfectly with it.

Before anyone asks on how I did this, I used this video. Yes it's mainly for GTA V but this method works for all games that are not compatible.

My wife bought me this game for Christmas and while there are some sure disappointments in it for me, overall I am pretty happy running around a fan favorite BMW.

The one thing I am pleasantly surprised over is the online always aspect. I had a rough go around on my first day, but ever since, it's ran pretty good for me.

I can say that if any of you are on the fence right now with this game, take the plunge. It's far from perfect but there is some fun to be had.

God bless rubberbanding. Nakai-san blasted past me just before the last checkpoint in the final race. Before that, the game spawned an AI car in front of me in the last few corners sending me back to 7th place. I need a punch bag right now. Where's Craig Sullivan when you need him?

:P

If there is one thing I don't like, it's how this game heavily favors on drifting.

There are a bunch of other things I don't like, that's just one of them.

Yeah, drifting is the fastest way to go round corners and required for half of the events.

If you have a grip tuned car, you encounter loads of understeer and can't pull off donuts. I'm curious to know if anyone has made a decent grip tune.

So far, the grip tune I made can hug corners fine, but when it comes to tight hairpins, sometimes the steering ends up not responding at all and I end up slamming alongside the wall.

Drifting isn't my thing, but I really don't want to be forced to drift. If I want to progress the story then, oh well, might as well.

I hope they add manual gearbox, then I may consider getting this game. Livery editor looks promising because I don't have Forza (and Xbox One, if I had one Forza would be first game to buy) and that's like only game with decent livery maker. Would like to have fun with it. :D
